PostSubject: The arrival of Satan's twin [Teren] September 21st 2014, 17:41

The terrain beneath the dark pelted brute seemed to be having a battle on wether it wanted to be gazed at through the eyes of Winter or Spring. At some points bitter white snow would cover his almost equally white paws while at others the springy grass would be almost completely visible save a few sleety patches as they tickled at his pads playfully. He definitely preferred Winter. Spring was just...to put it plain...annoying. Stupid little baby animals hopping about the place and so much bright stuff and all the blinding colors and the birds, God they were so loud during the Spring. He didn't get why nearly everyone else seemed to love Spring, it was just too bright and loud and annoying- Winter was much better, holding a cold sharp beauty and it made Caspian feel awake, alive even.

Huffing he froze, ears perked atop his head and silvery eyes alert as a small scuffling sound caught his attention. Why not bring his brother a present? They were brothers after all. Sighing softly he would drag a claw through a patch of untouched snow- it looked fresh which was surprising as the male hadn't seen or heard of any snowfall recently. Darn Spring taking over. Finally spotting the source of the noise, Caspian's gaze would fix itself on a plump squirrel as it searched about the base of the tree for any nuts or seeds. Looked like this fella had eaten most of it's hibernation meal, licking his lips Caspian bent down, hiding himself from view behind a thick patch of vegetation before beginning to creep quietly towards his next kill, keeping quiet with surprising ease due to his large size. However as the distance between the prey and the predator lessened, a cracking sound from beneath one of Caspian's large paws would alert the squirrel and cause it to prepare to dart away however not before Caspian's strong muscles propelled him from his cover and he landed right on the squirrel's neck, snapping it neatly.

Nodding with satisfaction, the large male bent down and lifted the small but plump body in his large jaws- trying to ignore the tempting scent that wafted up his nostrils. Now now, it would be rude of him to eat his brother's gift. Smiling he continued on, twitching his tail from side to side and leaving behind only a patch of flattened grass, a snapped stick and a small tuft of squirrel fur.

After a while, other scents would begin to battle with the delicious one that was still just as tantalizing as before however he was now focused on the other scent battling it and when this other scent grew stronger and stronger he would open his jaws and let the dead squirrel fall to the ground below before opening his jaws and lifting his head, nose twitching as he drank in the scents surrounding him. Ah yes, they smelt faintly of his brother all right. This was Erenyx- at last he'd made it. And only now would the fun really begin. Without hesitation he would lift his head with a confidence that he did not used to hold and let a strong masculine howl drift from it up into the darkening sky above. When finished he leaned back on his haunches with a grin. Now all he had to do was wait. Hopefully Teren himself would come to the border- he did not have time to persuade some foolish idiot that he was Teren's brother and he wasn't sure if his brother would appreciate him killing or hurting one of his high ranked wolves so it would really just best if the alpha himself came to assist the dark pelted Satan, Satan's twin was home.

There was only one noise which woke the great Alpha from his slumber. It was the crying and whining of pups. They were so loud and their voices rang from the depths of their dens. There was nothing which he found to be more annoying. He hated pups. The only thing they were good for was entertainment. Being forced to fight one another was the only thing he truly loved. He would take one as his apprentice and train it up until he knew it would beat the others, just like Azrael. The thought alone sent a chill down his masculine spine. His green gaze stared to the dens, watching them as nothing came from them, only the irritating sounds of young wolves. He moved himself from the den, his home, picking himself up from the last remains of Steele. As he walked into the sunlight, he could feel the warm rays against his back. The summer was going to be a hot one this year, he could tell this much. He wandered from the pack lands, heading for the border. Why try to fall back into a slumber, when the young of the pack were far too loud and irritating. He walked slowly, leaving large prints in the dirt as he moved through the woods. His body was large and he carried it well. He had so many years to do such a thing that he was used to it. To him it felt like he had been walking in water his whole life. But in the silence of the woods, he finally found solace. He loved peace and quiet, perhaps as much as he loved being an Alpha. But then again, that was a rather hilarious idea. Liking anything more than power? Nonsense. When he was finally enjoying the silence, he heard a howl. The howl had an older ring to it, one of age and dignity. And the funny thing was, he knew it like he knew his own.

Teren moved to the edge of his woods, the borders. His green eyes stared ahead as he moved quicker than he had before. When he came close, he sniffed the area his guest stood, only a few feet from where he stood currently. The scent was intertwined with one that smelled of his own and some foreign lands. He was a loner. He did not have the life of the pack behind him. Caspian. The mostly ashen male who was the closest in resemblance to Teren. But with age, Teren now looked as if he were ashen. His peppered coat was still brilliant, but not as brilliant as his never fading eyes. The emerald hues were strapping and beautiful. But Caspian's they were silver, like mother's. And silver like that of his treacherous mate.

"Caspian," his voice rang out with the ring welcoming tone which was seldom heard from the great Alpha. He walked out from the shadows and stared to his brother, his own flesh and blood. Not only did he have his brother before him, but his smaller sibling had brought an offering of a dead squirrel. The smell of fresh blood was enticing, and even intoxicating. But, it was not enough to take awya from the moment before him. "So tell me, did you find Azrael?" He knew the answer to the question, for he had found him and Caspian had been nowhere in sight. The large brute stood before him, his eyes cast over the other. He too had been riddled by time, and his coat was even more gray than he remembered. When was the last time he actually saw his brother? Or any of the others? Too many years. Far too long. "And if you have not, then tell me what brings you here? Where are our brothers?"

The wind would pick up as dusk settled over the lands and his fur was thrown about as snatches of wind grabbed at it before letting go and whisking away to find another victim to play with. A sigh would drift from his slightly opened maw and his head would be lifted as his silvery eyes would raise to gaze up at the sky, now a deep shade of navy almost with only a few faint lights that would soon turn into magnificent shining stars when the sky darkened further and dusk would turn to night. Night, what a grand time. Probably his favorite. Actually not probably, definitely his favorite. Time passed slowly and impatience began to burn lowly in the male's chest despite his efforts to ignore it- waiting for Teren at the border like this was irritating when all he wanted to do was cross it and stalk right up to his dark pelted brother and then....and then what? To be honest he was not entirely sure. Usually solace and peace like this would be all Caspian would ever want but he'd been traveling as a loner for months now with little contact with any other wolves and well, he wouldn't exactly say he was lonely but more well, it could get boring being on your own for too long. Anyway right now all he wanted to do was let his silvery orbs meet the stunning green of his sibling's and see how he was handling his new pack. His chance to start fresh. And maybe in the future this pack would be Caspian's new start as well....a sigh left him once again and he gazed into the thick vegetation beyond the border- completely obscured by shadows and impossible to see anything more then the outline of more trees and such.

Eventually the telltale noises of one moving confidently in their own territory without any need to try and be particularly quiet reached the two pricked ears that sat atop Caspian's ashen coloured head and interest would spark in the old male's gaze. Was it his brother Teren or some foolish follower? He knew the answer before the alpha revealed himself- he would know that scent anywhere and slowly Caspian would push himself onto all four paws- eyes eager and interested as finally Teren fully revealed himself and stood a little while off watching his brother. Age had not seemed to make Teren any less menacing or magnificent at sight and Caspian felt an automatic surge of pride for his brother before him before pushing it back down hurriedly, he did not have time for feeling any pride for this male. Of course age still had made some claims on Teren like it always would- his perfect midnight black pelt was now interrupted with streaks of silver but his eyes remained as magnificent as always in a burning ball of green fire.  He had wondered if Teren disliked his silvery orbs after his mate having ones incredibly similar but never had he actually asked, and to be honest he did not really care if Teren liked his eyes or not. Caspian did and that was all that mattered.

Caspian had always thought of Teren as a big brother even if there had not been enough age difference between the four of them to make any difference but mainly it had been due to Teren being the largest and as they used to believe- the wisest. However past actions had began to make Caspian wonder if his brother was really in anyway wise anymore. "Teren" Caspian would reply, a small smile gracing his features before it was gone again "Long time no see? Brother" Noticing the other male's gaze fix on the squirrel for a few moments, Caspian would nod in its direction "Yes, for you as you've probably guessed however I do admit- I was tempted to keep it for myself more then once" Chuckling to himself he would pad closer to his brother- his sharp silvery gaze running over every inch of the male before him as he surveyed his brother- looking for any differences from the last time he saw his brother's departing back. He left the eyes until last- wary of what he would see there, had Teren changed for the good or had the male kept to his insane ways or even gotten worse? So many questions but would any ever be asked? Probably not. Plus Teren seemed to have his own questions.

"Azrael? He questioned stiffly, eyes narrowed "No I had not come across him since well he chose to well....leave you" His eyes still focused on Teren with a narrowed calculating look, he listened as yet another question spilled from the other brute's mouth- this time Caspian would sigh and glance away. "Our brothers Teren....our brothers left us a long time ago. I guess the rules of your former pack become too much for them and well, they left sometime when you were occupied with training Azrael. I have not seen them since." Another sigh before he would turn back to the only brother he would probably ever see again, where were the others? It had been such a long time since he'd layed eyes on them....."I stayed until the very end before going to start a pack of my own. As for why I am here now, my pack was destroyed by Mother Nature herself, my successful feared pack may I add, but we can go into more detail there later. But yes, after that I spent my days as a loner, not having much interest in joining a pack as I presumed my age would mean the end wasn't too far off though I must say my body hasn't shown any signs of giving up any time soon. And well I heard news of a new alpha of the feared Erenyx, one even more horrifying then the last and it came as no surprise when I heard them mention your name and I thought, well why not crash with my brother and see how things were going on?"

He flicked his ears and let his forepaws slip forward into a stretch which was accompanied by a full on yawn before straightening up again- eyes curious. "So how are things going on?"

"You look like you could use it more than I.." he said as he looked to him with a crooked grin. He looekd to the dead body and then to his brother. He did not need the offering, though it was a kind gesture. It was a strange one for his own brother to do, but he was not going to punish his own blood for giving him a gift. "Of course you did not find Azrael. I did. Not too far from these lands, only a few days travel, there lies a land with three wolf packs who live close to one another. They hold some kind of stupid treaty and promises not to harm one another. There I stumbled upon Maple Woods, at the time it was controlled by an Alphess by the name of Rhyme. She and her healer accepted me into their lands, and shortly after she grew ill and died. I became the Delta and controlled the lands with the healer. A new Alphess came, and she granted me Elite. But it was in the neutral lands in which I discovered Azrael. He and a small russet fae were nestled together. He was a mere Warrior of his pack, but as time went on, I heard rumors that he is now the Alpha of his own pack, Cedar Grove. I had my plots to bring him back, but a great fire consumed our home and we were forced to leave Maple Woods. And I came here." His brother began to speak of their other siblings. The remaining wolves: Reaper and Lyonitus, had left their pack long ago. But he knew it was not during the training of the pup. It was some other time.

Upon inspection, Teren stood still, statuesque. He watched his brother with his eyes, and his tail hung over his spine. He pushed his chest forward and his ears forward as well. As he was inspected, he too inspected his brother. When Caspian stopped, it was Teren's turn. He moved around him, listening to his tale as he inspected his sibling. He brushed his body against the other, almost pushing him in a way and resting his head over his shoulders for only a moment. Teren moved away from him at the end of his tale. The story of his own path was incredible. He had gotten a pack and lost it, just like Teren. Such a thing was so interesting to be done to him as well. when he made it back to his place, behind the invisible wall that separated the loners from the pack, he stared with his green orbs.

"Things have been perfect.." he said with a sinister grin. The pride within himself was beginning to build. "When I happened upon these lands, I was greeted by a wolf. He called himself Alpha Steele. He looked like Azrael, pure black with silver lifeless colored eyes. He spoke of things that he was a great leader and began spinning his web of lies. So I took it upon myself to dethrone the king myself. We had a small fight, nothing to great that I could not handle. The boy barely laid a paw on me. But I got him at a disadvantage. I defeated him and carried his body back to his home." He smiled as he spoke, wider than ever before. Only one wolf had seen this smile in his recent pack, it was Irrationality. It had been a small smile, but good enough for him to know Teren was pleased. "I carried his body over my shoulders and assembled his pack around me. The wolves came and only two put up a fight to stop me. One was his son, black as night with one green eye and the other a silver color. The other wolf, a fae, her coat is a mix of grey and brown. Her eyes are silver, like yours. Other wolves in the pack were glad that I was taking over. It seemed they hated their Alpha tremendously. Once the dying fool spoke to them, they stood down. I ripped out his heart and ate it before the eyes of his pack. And for the son, I ripped out Steele's throat and tossed it between his paws. With my victory, I called to the wild. I was now the king." He looked to his brother, it was obvious he was very proud of his accomplishments. "In my time here, I have gained one wolf who I can trust beyond all others. He is my Beta, and his name is Irrationality. He is very trustworthy, and in time you too shall get to know him. But first, I would like to offer you a rank within my pack. Be my Delta, and show these other wolves what it means to hold a position of power. Follow me as you did in the past, and your life shall be rewarded."

Caspian chuckled "I believe I'll be fine" he responded in his deep voice, eyes glittering as they focused on his brother as the male gave him a crooked smile. It had been so long since his brother had smiled like that in Caspian's presence, much too long. In Caspian's memory Teren had been crazed and slightly insane as he pretty much slaughtered the entire pack he had led back as a charming young male, or at least that's what Caspian liked to think- he had the sickening suspicion that his brother had been completely sane and aware of what he was doing until it was time to move on from the dying remains of his once mighty, feared pack. Sighing he would give his head a sharp shake before focusing on the black brute's words, interest evident in his bright silvery gaze as Teren told him of how he found Azrael, a male both Caspian and his fellow siblings despised. "Really?" He breathed when Teren finished, so Azrael still lived? To be honest Caspian had thought that Teren would've stopped at nothing to murder the younger wolf for leaving him but it seemed as if he'd been wrong....again.

As Teren's posture changed during his inspection- a smile graced Caspian's featured giving a glimpse of several long yellowed fangs. "I must say you are looking very well brother, age seems to have had little effect on you." Smiling he would then in turn stand taller- ears perked and tail held high with evident pride. Since he had last seen his brother, Caspian had grown stronger and it was evident, leading his own pack and participating in the amount of battles he did gave you reason to train yourself hard until standing was an impossible task and it resulted in strong muscles rippling beneath his ashen pelt and a sharper and clearer look shone in his silvery orbs- age had not had too much of an effect on this brute yet either. Only time could tell how long this was to last for the pair of them. As his brother finished around the same time Caspian had finished giving a brief tale of what he had been up to, he flopped back into a sitting position not feeling the need to prove himself to his brother any longer. "Interesting to hear you lost your pack in a fire, the exact thing happened to my own. Seems Mother Nature does not like us much." Smirking he would then stand again, shaking each paw in turn and letting his silver gaze slip past his brother and rest on the shadows that hid what lay beyond the borders of Erenyx. As Teren spoke once again, Caspian would return his attention to the male and listen with real interest.

I could not have imagined him standing a chance against you....any wolf that would think such a thing would have to be a right fool" he would murmur quietly as Teren spoke of slaying the former alpha, was he warning himself? Did he really intend on dethroning his brother and ridding the world of his awful presence? And was his presence really that awful? Sighing Caspian would let his tail flick back and forth- he did not really know what he planned on doing- he did not know how much his brother had changed yet so he would have to wait until this was figured out anyway. "Is this son of Steele's still alive?" Caspian would question instantly, eyes alert and interested- if he was this could become a useful piece of knowledge. He supposed the fae had been the former alpha's mate however this fact did not mean much to him at the current moment anyway. Realizing that he had not yet praised the alpha standing before him with pride glowing in his deep green depths, Caspian would give a lazy smile "Well Teren, that's the proper way to claim a pack if you ask me" Leaning back on his haunches, he would await the answer to his former question eagerly however keeping his impatience at bay and listening respectively as his brother continued.

Eyes would glimmer with renewed interest as now Teren spoke of ranks. The Beta male spot had been taken, darn that sucked but ah well, couldn't be too picky. Irrationally...hmm sounded interesting, he would like to meet this male sometime and see what it was that had made Teren give his trust out to this wolf- it was not something his brother ever did easily. Delta.... it was definitely a start anyway. Flashing a crooked grin at his brother Caspian would reply smoothly "It would be an absolute honor to serve as your Delta brother, I cannot say how pleased I am to have found you." Smiling he would then let one more question be asked "But Teren, obviously we will have to meet some other time when I am not as exhausted as I am right now since I am still brimming with questions of your past and would like to share more of mine, but I must know, what have you done with and what are your rules with the faes of Erenyx?" He asked the question almost cautiously knowing that it had been the stupid female's that had driven his brother to do the things he'd done in the first place. And not just Teren but himself too....darn females....

[At this rate, they could talk at the border forever. Accepted, Delta Caspian, and feel free to post in the bear hunt page if you like. Teren would love to see your work.]
