Raymond stepped through the marsh gently, his emerald eyes scanning the area. He held himself proudly as he achieved a higher rank then warrior. The words of the alpha still echoed into his mind. "Warrior Raymond, the intensity and aggression you showed, will be Lead Warrior." This had pleased Raymond greatly, making him fairly proud and serious at the exact same time. His paws sank into the marsh lands. Water swarmed around him and he shook his head gently, glaring down at the waters. "Why do I follow my paws... damn... they get me in the weirdest of places." His eyes narrowed and then he shifted forward, wading through the marsh. He grumbled quietly to himself before pulling up onto a mound of marshy dirt. He shook off the water and tilted his head upwards to see the sky. The sky was filled with morning colors, the sun coming from it's bed and stretching across the land. He held no emotion, yes it was beautiful to see the sun make strange and wonderful beauty across the lands, but he didn't feel as if it deserved emotions. Look at me now, father... You'd be so damned proud. Yet, I would have killed you as well. Because you were a fool to be mates with an Alphess and love another... He shrugged the thoughts away and the jumped into the deep marsh. Continuing his long journey, to who knew where.

He pushed himself to pick his legs up higher and move through the water at great speed. He slipped on something under the murky water, tumbling forward yet not fully falling into the water. He stepped upon another random mound in the middle of the marsh and shook his pelt clean from the mud and icky water. He shook his shoulders and stood awkwardly upon the mound, looking down upon the water with a sneer. He shifted and put a single paw out on the top of the waters. He watched as ripples danced away from his paw and his emerald eyes watched each ripple. He shook his head and leaped back into the water, this time it fully collapsed around him. Covering his body in mud, he growled slightly as he felt mud grasp at his tail. He pulled his tail over his back, trying to get through the marsh with less of a struggle.

His paws reached up as far as they could so he moved easier across the marsh. Finally the marsh waters weren't as deep and he pushed himself forward with much more ease. He dropped his tail and pressed his ears forward, listening to make sure that he was fully alone. He pulled himself from the marsh lands and onto the soft grass near the other side opposite of Erenyx territories. He moved to the much cleaner and softer grass, a few feet away. He dropped down upon his paws and rolled over, trying to get rid of the mud that ran across his body. He stood up once more, sitting upon the soft grass and watching as the sun rose overhead. He chuckled gently as he could feel and evil rush with the wind. His ears perked as wind rustled through the lands, calling others to wake and come alive. He shook his head as he knew that would mean he would have company fairly soon. His eyes narrowed and he silently dissed the wind for doing such things to him.

(OOC: I'm lazy.... x333)

The onyx fae trotted through the sticky, marshy territory, high stepping across the soil to avoid sinking into the ground as if it were quicksand. Raising her head, stepped gingerly, but forced herself not to slow her pace, eying the ground as she struggled to separate the slimy waters from the mucky semi-solid ground. It was difficult, as any place could be a large pool of water, simply disguised by an overlay of grass and earth. The early morning air was cool however, slipping through her silky pelt to drag its chilling fingers over her flesh. Not flinching, she continued on her trek, paws sinking into especially soft mounds, dirtying them. "Useless!" She hissed quietly to herself,  twisting and shifting into a more stable ground. It was her fault for following the rabbit here, then deciding to explore, but she wasn't going to just give up. But she also didn't particularly fancy a mud bath. Ear twitching, she sped up, wading through the submerged ground, cautiously assessing her surroundings.

Once again speeding up she managed to get in a few steps before her paw was tugged by the mud lying under the water in wait. Paw sinking completely under, she felt it trying to drag the rest of her body with it. Off balance, she shifted her weight to her hind legs, digging her claws in and swiftly catching herself. She wrinkled her nose, fangs showing for a split second as she dragged her paw back, plodding forward until she reached a dirt mound. Pushing off her hind legs, she hopped onto it halfway, dragging herself the rest. The water was shallow where she had fallen, but still reached her shoulders. "Damn... What's the you? Not a good hiding spot, can't fight here, good spot to get dirty I guess." She snarled at the marsh, but instead of standing upon her personal island and complaining to something that couldn't hear her for hours, searched the swampy water for a more solid patch within leaping distance. Finding one after a moment of looking, she crouched closer to the ground, tensing her shoulders and quickly calculating the distance in her head. Rising onto her toes, she went from being in a hunters crouch to soaring through the air, towards her target. Stretching her fore-legs out, her first set of paws hit the water with a splash, sending the liquid flying into the air. Back paws hitting, the landed on the earth, which seemed to bend severly under her for a moment, but didn't collapse.

Loping forward, pulled against the force pushing her back, water, sloshing  at her steps. Tail curling up and over her back, she didn't dare stop moving in case she should sink into the earth. Prancing fleet-footedly, she managed to cross the marsh with only a couple stumbles. But despite that, her earlier fall left her covered in mud. "So much for not getting a mud bath." She glanced up at the rising sun, the sky an array of unnatural colors such as pinks and oranges. Her gaze fastened onto it for a moment, silver in her eyes shining against the light, before she turned away. Climbing onto another mound of earth and continuing her journey, she became aware of the mud clinging to her fur strands, slowly going from wet to dry and caking onto her canvas.  After another minute of trotting, the water became more shallow, and easier to walk through. Lowering her tail slightly, she walked towards the dry ground. Sniffing, she picked up the scent of another wolf near her. Eyes narrowing and staring at the bank until an unclear figure could be seen. 'Of course someone else is here...' She thought to herself, advancing towards it. The closer the got, the more she could make out. He was facing away from her, his left side visible to her.  Turning slightly, she moved on an angle, pulling herself onto the bank a bit away from him.

Shaking out her pelt, globs and droplets of mud and water alike flew off, though the dried patches stood their ground, a few shades too light to be masked by her dark fur color. Moving towards the male, she moved towards him, squinting. He looked familiar... Raymond! She had met him upon the frozen and snowcovered mountain. With darkly emotionless eyes, she glanced at him, as if sizing him up for a moment, before sitting in her place an adequate distance both near and far to him, close enough to converse, but with plenty of space for both of their likely large personal bubbles. "Hello, Tye." She didn't look at him immediately, head turning towards the water, staring at seemingly nothing. Soon it would be hopping - no pun intended - with frogs and life of animals who enjoyed this type of terrain. Shifting her stance slightly, she tensed, golden pools finally focusing on the fellow packmember, now falling silent to allow him to speak. Though, he didn't seem like the type to speak much. Rolling her shoulders, her front claws slipped away from her body, stretching her stiff joints until they popped silently. Returning to her original position, her tail coiled around her body, resting on her paws lazily.

Raymond tilted his mud covered head to the sky, ears twisting some what. He was covered in mud and looked like a ebony brute until one got closer to him. He twisted and looked to an ebony she-wolf that spoke. "Hello, Tye." He glared at her and huffed out a sigh. So I look like Elite Tye eh? He shook his head gently and stood straight and tall, no emotions came across his face and at first he didn't know whether to be disgusted that he was easily mistaken for another or be pleased that he was like the Elite. He huffed out a growl and let his green eyes lay upon the she-wolf. Waiting for her to realize her mistake and then he would speak. "Tye? You mean the Elite of this pack... are you blind Warrior Ariste?" He realized that the demon fae he spoke to was Ariste and that was why he spoke her name bitterly. "I am no Elite, but I do have a new rank. Better get your eyes checked by a healer." He didn't smirk, nor laugh but his cold gaze held hers and he turned slightly away from her. Not even his voice held emotions, he was a blank slate and he wondered if that irritated the ones around him. He was good at hiding his emotions and that's what mattered. He tilted his head to the side, green eyes glaring at the onyx she-wolf. He grumbled quietly and turned away from her to look at the morning sun as it rose higher and higher into the sky.

He shook his pelt free from the mud and glanced at Ariste. His mixed colored pelt finally showing through the mud. He didn't have friends but he could at least say he didn't really hate the she-wolf. No, but he also couldn't say that he liked her. He was neutral about the whole thing, it was unnatural for him to not make instant enemies with a she-wolf. So, he tempted himself to poke fun at her and make her his own enemy. "Well, Warrior Ariste, what brings you out here so early?" He spoke calmly, staring at the ebony she-wolf with no such emotions. This time, his voice didn't give him away and he was stronger and more scarred then when they had first met. He had been training himself and while he hadn't been hurt by the bear, he was still strongly training himself against large beasts and rocks to gain strength and agility. Today was supposed to hold another self-training attempt by running through the marsh and mud and then hunting for the pack. He wanted to weigh himself down with mud and then attempt to hunt and bring back a large prize to show he could, literally, carry more then his own weight. He stretched slightly and looked down at the smaller she-wolf. He was tempted to just walk away, or maybe test his newly given rank.

He straightened out and his green demon like eyes stared straight her. He turned and without a single word he decided to ignore the she-wolf and work on his training. He plunged into the muddy waters, getting it all over his pelt. He held his head high over the deep parts of mud, making sure it covered his body before stepping onto a small island like mound of compacted mud. He stopped the urge to shake off the mud and let it start drying upon his pelt. It clung to him and felt fairly nasty against his skin. He licked his ebony nose and looked down at his completely mud covered body. This would do. He felt heavier then before, and now he had to make his way across the whole marsh field and hunt his prey. He hoped it would be a decently sized buck or something. His demon green eyes glared into the distance before slightly glancing back to where he had left the ebony she-wolf. He had no time for games and chit-chat. If she wanted to talk to him, then she would just have to keep up with him. If she could... He didn't show any emotion but instead shook his pelt to let the dry mud sink in deeper to holding onto him.

Ariste only half payed attention to the one  before she was spoken to, orbs moving to scrutinize him closer until she saw the multi-colored gray and white under the light blanket of gunk that still clung to him. Gold eyes raised to meet emerald green ones, her gaze cold and without trace of apology or remorse at the mix-up. It was true, they were similar in stature and frame - if not Raymond slightly more muscular and a tad less lithe-appearing. The first time she was reprimanded, she made no move to snap sassily back - it wasn't worth it to say anything. Evidently, he had a new and higher rank, but no new or good insults worth her time retaliating. She turned away to scan her surroundings, looking over the Mesa, the what lie after it. Shifting her position, she inhaled the cool morning air, trying to ignore the infuriating tugging sensation the mud pulling on her fur created. "What new rank might you have, Raymond?" She questioned, voice betraying no disrespect intended, and eyes following suit.

Well, Warrior Ariste, what brings you here so early? She heard the brute speak to her, but didn't look at him simply for the task of replying to him. She thought for a moment,  coming up with a few true answers, but no one clear answer. "Journeying." She finally kept her answer short and sweet, using the most truthful term she could. Perhaps she wanted to test her abilities, perhaps she wanted to explore more of Erenyx, but overall she was simply journeying across the lands. To where? She didn't know, she may end up in neutral territories. Head suddenly snapping around at the sound of a splash, only to find that the multi-colored demon had sprung into the marshy waters once again. After a moment, she picked herself up off the ground, following him on the bank. "What are you doing?" She asked, eyes following him as he paddled onto a mound of dirt, but made no attempt to clear his canvas of the rapidly hardening mud, instead welcoming it. She was tempted to follow him, curiosity piqued somewhat at why he was purposely dirtying himself in the waters he had just emerged from.

Raymond hadn't answered her questions, and so now when she asked him what he was doing, he froze. His ears went back slightly and he turned in respect to face the ebony she-wolf. His green eyes searched her frame and he nodded gently. "I was given the rank 'Lead Warrior'. It's new and foreign to my tongue, but it holds importance. I plan on keeping it." He looked down at his mud covered body and then let out a sigh, his expression was blank and he could only hope it irritated the ebony she-wolf. "I am training my speed and strength. You coat yourself in deep mud and let it stretch across your pelt and onto your skin. It irritates but it allows you to put more weight on yourself and see how fast you can take down a target in more then one situation." He spoke and turned slightly away from her. "I'm going to bring in the largest deer I can find for the pack, while being covered in mud that weighs me down even more so." His was so dull, as if he were explaining something to an irritating young and foolish pup. His sharp demon green eyes shot back to the ebony fae and he shrugged his shoulders. He went back into the mud and rolled around, not offering her to join but it was open if she did want to train with him. He didn't consider her an enemy, or even a threat. He rolled onto his back and stared at the sky, his belly exposed to the she-wolf for a few mere seconds before he rolled onto his side and pushed himself upwards. He had the urge to shake and clean himself but he stood very tense, paws squishing against the mud. His nails were far more dirty then before, his pelt was covered and hid his scars very well. He had fought a bear, with help. He had been given a new rank, and he had new enemies that went along with that rank. He wasn't scared of anyone, not even the king of Erenyx. The only one he truly feared was himself, the idea of losing and becoming a weak wolf whom needed to be carried was all he feared. But then again, that wasn't really a fear, just something he didn't want to happen. He had forgotten about the ebony she-wolf for a few minutes, rattling his brain to figure out if she had said anything or simply walked off. He glanced over his shoulder to see which it had been. He had been awkwardly standing there the whole time, lost in thought. His sharp green eyes stared at the mud as he listened carefully now. His ears flicked and his tail hung between his legs. The mud was firmly drying and clinging to him, it felt terrible but he knew it would strengthen himself for the coming training with the new Elite. With everything changing, he knew that he would change and that others around him would change. He could feel the demons stirring within with the idea of everything changing. He felt as if he were ready for change, for the better, or at the least, in his time.

PostSubject: Re: The line of danger. [Ariste] The line of danger. [Ariste] Icon_minitimeDecember 17th 2014, 04:42

Ariste eyed him as she spoke, expression never changing as she learned of his new rank as Lead Warrior, golden hued luminaries turning to meet his for a second time. In truth, she saw him with no more respect than whence he was a Warrior, and even then he hadn't done much to earn her respect. But something about his demeanor seemed... off. She'd expected a harsh snap in reply, or simply being ignored, not the almost kind nod she had received. However, his eyes and expression never changed from its empty gaze, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking. She observed him, taking a step closer to the boggy water, but making no motion indicating she was about to jump in. As she listened to his training method, though her eyes remained the same, they seemed to shift, having a why that way? aura reflecting in them. However she paused and bit her tongue, not positive whether she wanted to speak her point. Her calculating orbs moved over his form, assessing how useful this training would actually be to him. He seemed to have fallen into a dreamstate, not fully aware of his surroundings.  She figured he wouldn't mind if she went with him to train - she could use all the training she could get. Pushing forward with her hind legs, she sloshed into the mucky waters, Head raising for a moment to avoid the disgusting substance splashing into her ears and hindering her sense of hearing.

Turning towards Raymond, she felt herself sinking deeper into the mud, occasionally striking her paw out to keep herself from stupidly becoming trapped, paws stuck to the riverbed and rendering her helpless. She allowed the watery dirt to coat her sillhouette, caking onto it and drying awkwardly, pulling and irritating her fur as the brute had predicted. Combing through her hair until it reached her flesh, the onyx vix took that as the sign to drag herself out of the potentially dangerous swamp and use her claws to pull herself onto land. She growled inwardly, stopping herself from instinctively shaking the mud off her canvas. Instead, she felt as the mud dried into her coat and tangled with her fur. By this time, she was covered from tail tip to her nose in caked mud, obscuring her black-as-night pelt and turning it into a brownish tone, like a blanket covering her. She padded over towards Raymond, noticing he'd finally started paying attention again. "I hope you wouldn't mind should I join you?" She said, standing still. She didn't say anything further, gazing turning upwards to look at the sky for a moment, hoping it would stay like that forever. Lowering her hindquarters to the ground, the she-demon sat down, awaiting word from Raymond.

Raymond was planning on walking away and continuing with his training when a female voice spoke to him. He tilted his head towards her and didn't even bother to act surprised that she had submerged herself into mud. He started walking forward and then threw a glance over his shoulder. "You may." He turned and started wading through the mud and towards the small hunting area that was nearby. An injured doe stood, lost from it's herd and eating grass. Raymond crept into the woods, not making a sound as his paws stretched across the earth. He lowered his body in a crouch and let his green eyes take in all the injuries she had. It seemed the doe was limping, meaning she couldn't run very far. It also seemed that it had a gash across it's side, probably from falling against something sharp. He didn't wait for Ariste, he expected her to be quick and act in ways that would take him by surprise. But he doubted that the she-wolf would surprise him all that much. He moved from the brushes and charged, making the doe dart towards a large sinking mud pit. His paws pounded across the earth as if there was no mud clinging to him. His ears pressed against his skull and he opened his jaw as he flew through the air. He watched as the doe slipped and fell, their bodies colliding as he scraped his claws against the earth to steady himself. He looked blank for a second and watched as the doe took that second for granted. He pounded after her, paws barely touching the earth as he flung his body through the air and grasped her shoulder with his teeth. He dragged her down but she struggled, and he... well frankly, he needed help. His green eyes searched for Ariste as he released the doe in order to grab it again and tear at the shoulder muscles. The mud finally felt like true weight and he struggled to keep the grasp on the doe's shoulder as it kicked and struggled. He growled loudly, trying to keep the one doe down at such an awkward angle. He was on his back, neck twisted to hold her shoulder.
