Adventure's Out There [Private/Ariste] Empty
PostSubject: Adventure's Out There [Private/Ariste] Adventure's Out There [Private/Ariste] Icon_minitimeJuly 2nd 2015, 12:25

The multi-colored male wandered through the dry lands with ease, keeping his ears perked for any signs of movement. He was aware of the dangers of the lands that he tread. Snakes and cougars roamed the area, and would not hesitate to attack. He had no particular reason for wandering so far from the Agavos lands, just for a new experience. Nothing really served the purpose of his wandering other than a curious mind. For he had never been in lands such as these, and frankly, he was utterly fascinated the the sheer beauty of the landscape. Though the lands were quite beautiful, they were dangerous. As dry as it is, rocks could easily crumble under his paws if he came to a cliff, sending him into a roll that could end his life. Surely the brute was smarter than those who may have taken the deadly tumble down the mountainside. Although he hadn't been in his new pack long, it was nice to have a change of scenery from the forest trees. The desert lands were different than the usual earthy smell of the forests, it had the smell of rock and dust. Extremely different to that of his normal surroundings. Sauntering along through the dry lands and bearing heat, the brute had wondered how many wolves had actually wandered out here. Perhaps to think, find one whom they love, or even to simply be alone. Not wanting to wander too far, the brute made his way into the shade of the mountain side. A buzzard's shadow was visible gliding over the earth, circling a dead animal's carcass nearby.  One by one, more than six buzzards landed over the dead flesh. Picking and tearing any meat left from the bones of the creature. Although he knew the thing was already dead, he thought it was a little harsh to pick it's body of whatever remained but it didn't bother him much as it was just how life worked. Life was cruel and unusual. The strangest things were normal to them in their daily lives. Such as eating, putting things in their mouth, grinding them up, and swallowing into your body. It was so odd, but so normal. He thought about these things for a while, until another creature of the desert caught his eye. A little gecko or lizard ran across the earth, looking like he was trying to avoid touching the hot grounds. The creature what quite funny looking as is ran over the earth's surface. trying to find somewhere to hide from predators of the mid-day.

Time passed, and the brute was more and more wishing that someone would come along to converse with him. Nothing exciting was happening in the long hours of the day for Agavos. Nothing exciting in the slightest. He was curious to how the other two packs in the lands were doing, not that they mattered to him. He was just curious to how much their way of life was different from theirs in Agavos. He tried to remember the names of the other two packs. Agavos.... Helidos... and what was it... oh! Erenyx, that's right. He thought to himself, trying to get the names correct. He hadn't met any members of the other two packs and was unsure if he wanted to, as he he hadn't heard anything good or bad about either of them. Thinking on this, he hoped someone would come along to tell him about the other two packs of these lands that he hadn't known of.

PostSubject: Re: Adventure's Out There [Private/Ariste] Adventure's Out There [Private/Ariste] Icon_minitimeJuly 6th 2015, 17:25

Ariste has been pacing the borders since before dawn had broke, the peering through the trees she took shelter underneath branches from the sun beating down on her back when it got the chance, looming overhead when it had risen into early morning. The swift elitess had taken her leave from her post to lap up a few mouthfuls of water, as her dark coat did her no favours regarding the heat. Then, standing up, she stretched her chest down until it brushed the ground beneath her, stretching her paws out as far as she could. Yawning wide enough that her jaw popped, she started into a sprint, exiting Erenyx lands. Crossing various Neutral territories, her lithe frame glided over smooth terrain, eyes and ears roving. Before entering the land of Cathedral Mountain, however, she stopped as she caught sight of a small, furry white body standing upwind from her, and by reflex moved toward the nearest bush. Silhouette slipping into a crouch, her golden luminaries narrowed in a cat-like fashion, focusing on her target. Shoulder rolled, power being diverted to her hind legs as she pressed herself as close to the ground as possible, ears following suit and pinning tightly to her skull. Breathing in slowly and quietly, she slithered forward, trying to avoid sight and making any noise. Sitting in wait as the prey edged closer, closer, closer...

Snap! Any screech of pain, or warning to its family the rabbit wished to give was promptly cut off before it began, the heavy weight of the female's paws landing squarely on its back causing the vertebrae to give way with no effort. Next, fangs found their way to the prey's throat at the same time, severing its vocal cords mercilessly. Its death was unexpected, without all the strenuous cat-and-mouse chase, and no fear. Easy. Moving her paws from the rodent's back, she readjusted her hold on its neck, firmly grasping its scruff and pressing her audits forward once again, placing space between her ears and her cranium. She couldn't help but reflect on how much she had improved in hunting, gone from a pitiful loner pup attempting to find scraps before the birds of prey found them, to one who could kill an adult deer with aid. She had risen, not only in rank, but in skill and maturity, growing into a fae some would dare call beautiful, with a pelt of onyx fur that was soft and silken to the touch, and orbs that had the appearance of shifting colours, depending on how and when you were looking at them. Alas, scars marred that beauty, two running down her muzzle, another on her leg, and some hidden under her pelt, invisible at first glance. But she worried not at such unimportant things, such as her appearance. She bore such scars as a signature of her fights, not wearing them with shame, but pride. Tokens to show that she had won.

Carrying her prize, she padded across the ground, looking for a suitable place to consume it, specifically somewhere were there was shade. If she weren't carrying something, her mouth surely would have been wide open, tongue lolling as she panted to cool herself down. Soon, however, her nostrils flared as they picked up the scent of a male, not from Erenyx or Helidos, so she decided he must've been from Agavos, or perhaps a Rogue who had been slightly too friendly to a wolf of Agavos, getting their scent all over him. She hesitated, before the voice in the back of her mind spurred her to approach him, gait slowing to a leisurely stroll, taking her time. Her luminaries scanned the scenery, until they caught sight of the male, with a multi-coloured pelt. Approaching, she was pleased finally falling into the shadow the large mountain cast, but kept her gaze trained solely on Finnick. "Hello, Brute." She called out, seating herself a respectful - to him and to her - distance away, eyeing him warily, but showing no such thing in her expression. He seemed to be a good sized male, but was only as tall as her, nothing that was impossible for her to take on, if need be. But she had no idea of taking him on. In fact, if he were Agavos, she might offer her rabbit to him as a peace offering. One never knew when they would need an ally from another pack, and it sure as hell wasn't going to be a Helidos wolf. So Agavos, or Rogue were her best bets, someone she could trust, but not get overly cozy with. "My name is Ariste, and I am the Elite of the pack Erenyx. May I inquire about your name, title, and pack?" Her words were touched by the outstretched fingers of courtesy, reaching out to him for the first time in a long time, but no more friendliness could be found. She didn't wish to because best buddies, not in the slightest, and the cool, crisp edge that was naturally in her voice stayed there, as always. Setting the rabbit between her front paws, she looked up at Finnick, waiting on a response from the brujo.

Enjoying the peace and serenity of the dry lands, the silence was soon broken by another approaching. It was a female, with a dark pelt. He looked at her, curious as she came closer with a meal in her jaws. For being a black wolf, he thought the heat must be hard on her. Luckily, there was shade for her to relax and eat as she drew closer. Seating herself a respectful distance away from him, she spoke out towards him. He looked at her as she let a few words slip tom her jaws. It was clear that she was from Erenyx, as the stench of the lands were coating her fur. He dipped his head and spoke to her in response. "Hello there." A simple greeting at first was in place to meeting this new wolf. "I am Lead Hunter Finnick of Agavos." He nodded slightly as he introduced himself kindly, not wanting to stir up any trouble with the Elite. He automatically wanted to know about Erenyx, what it was like there. He wanted to know about Helidos as well, but there were no wolves of such nearby to tell him of this. He wanted to know as much as possible about these two packs for future information if Agavos seems to have a run in with one of these two packs. Although he hoped nothing of the sort would occur soon, he was sure of an altercation or two becoming an occurrence in the future. If any large issues rose between one of the packs and Agavos, it wouldn't end well for the new pack as their numbers are small, more so with a healer dying from a blow from the moose they had encountered within the pack lands. He hoped none of his pack members died son, it was hard for him to cope with death. It had always left a mark on his since a young age. His mother and father's death affected him greatly, but it was never known unless you dug deep inside his mind to the memory of those days in which they had left him. Now that this healer died, it brought grief to his heart. Although he didn't know her in the slightest of ways, he still mourned her greatly. They had lost one of the few healers that had within the pack. Orion and Sofiel were the only remaining ones, and if they lost them, there would be nobody to heal the sick and injured. He hoped for the best and that the numbers of Agavos would grow and become much stronger than they are now. He had good hopes for them, but come concerns as he was learning that Desmond was an ex-rogue. It did concern him as rogues were not meant for pack life, and they chose that way. To why Desmond would choose to lead a life as a pack alpha confused him. Though he shrugged it off, it still lurked in the back of his mind.

Directing his attention back to the female, he inquired something. "So, Miss Ariste. What brings you out here today, might I ask? Looking at her, curious of where she came form and how long it took her to gain the rank of Elite and what had happened in order for her to receive it. He wanted to earn such a rank in Agavos, but due to his stupid comment at the borders, he doubted that he would even gain the Lead Hunter rank. It supposed that it was all in good time and effort. Hopefully, he would show Desmond and Fel that he was worth enough to this pack to uphold a higher ranking than Hunter. He hoped so. He would try constantly to get their approval and acceptance and trust. It meant everything to him by this point. He had to show them what he was made of and what he can do to prove himself a great hunter and warrior both.

The female tilted her head slightly, golden-silver orbs rolled toward his direction, waiting for a response from him. She breathed softly, air flowing through her flared nostrils into her lungs, before being released in a huff of air. She shifted her forepaws, rolling her shoulders and stretching out the muscles there. She listened as he introduced himself as, indeed, a member of the new pack, Agavos. He was the first official Agavos wolf she had met, discounting Desmond, as he was still a Rogue at that time. Finnick, that was an intriguing name. But it did not hold her interest for longer than if his name had been Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, it was not too out of the ordinary. She admitted, however, it was a somewhat pretty name, and rolled off the tongue with ease. Reaching down, she clasped the scruff of the rabbit in her jaws, teeth sinking into the flesh for a firm hold, before tossing it in between the two of them, more on Finnick's side. "Have this rabbit to satisfy your hunger. I insist." She purred, ear flicking as she observed him, eyes flicking up and down his form, seeing just how difficult he would be to take on, if the need arose. Of course, it also depended on skill, and she knew nothing of his skill, but his size also played some part in it. Her mind strayed slightly to questions, what she could ask him, what she wanted to know. Her salmon coloured tongue flicked out, over the scar on her maw, as she pondered, senses still alert, but retreating into her own mind, thoughts fluttering and floating around her, trying to draw her attention. She had no need, however, as after a few moments, Finnick posed his own question. A common, polite question, yes, but a question nonetheless. She paused, vocal cords vibrating as she hummed quietly in thought before she spoke her answer. "I've strayed from my pack lands to relieve myself of pacing the borders, as another has surely taken over my shift. The sun can become overwhelming with my colour fur when simply walking back and forth, making sure the scent of the borderline is strong. I simply needed to clear my head in this relentless weather." She finally answered, shifting her paws once again, fixing Finnick with her smouldering silver-tinted, golden gaze. "What of you, what lures you away from your own pack's territory?" She inquired, stretching her paws out before her slightly, a wide yawn obscuring her vision as her eyes squinted close, and her jaw popped. She gave him sufficient time to answer her question, before proceeding with another, genuinely curious this time, though it did not leak into her frosty voice. "How does Agavos get along at this time? I am sure you're growing in numbers." She commented, tail swishing, lifting up dust from the ground a little as it brushed against the dusty surface. And so, she let this question hang in the air, silence filling the time in between the question asked, and the answer received, as she watched him, fur ruffling in the breeze.

The multicolored male looked at the dark female beside him. He wondered what her business was being out here in the spring heat all alone. She began to speak and he silently listened. She was a Delta from one of the other packs she named as Erenyx. He hadn't met anyone outside of Agavos, let alone personally any of his own pack mates. He looked at her, his eyes kind. He watched her as she threw her kill in between them. He was unsure of why she would've done such a thing with a wolf she had just met, and from a different pack. He didn't deny the fact that he was hungry, there fore accepted her offer. "Thank you, Elite." He bowed his head in respect for the higher ranking she-wolf. He carefully moved in to tear into the rabbit, taking only a small chunk of meat from the carcass. As he did so, she had started to answer his previous question. He listened as she spoke, understanding the time needed away from working and being on the clock. He nodded and looked at her, slightly smiling. "Everyone needs a break now and then, Miss Ariste. Me? Well, I figured as much to venture out into the lands to see where I've put myself. If this place is really where I wish to call home." He smiled a little, soon fading at the thought of his mother and father's deaths. It sickened him that they died apart from one another. He couldn't imagine what it must have felt like to die and not knowing the love of your life not there to comfort you on your deathbed. He shuddered and redirected himself to the dark female as she proposed another question to him. Agavos? Surely the packs were not very aware of their growing community, as they barely emerged from the dark not too long ago. He nodded and spoke once more. "Aye. Agavos is growing largely in numbers than at the start. Many of us from Erenyx or Helidos. Some from distant lands. Our most recent member I heard is a strange one. She has a strong accent and calls herself a dingo. I'm not sure what that is, but she's odd. Aa well as one of our healers who happens to be completely blind but can easily hold his own. And Desmond, well, he's getting a hang of the leadership thing. I heard he was a rogue before he created Agavos, yes?" Speaking his mind, he looked at the female. Talking about some of his pack mates was really calming to him. He was able to express his opinions, most of which were not bad in the slightest. He so far respected all of his pack mates. A sudden sorrow filled his heart as he thought of Ashlen."We had one of our own die recently. A healer by the name of Ashlen. We were on a pack hunt for a bull moose and she was kicked in the head. Died instantly." He shook his head. "Awful. And another is in a coma-like state, an Omega." He spoke a last word before taking another small bite of the rabbit. He wondered how things would have turned out if they had not allowed her to come up the back like she did. They may have saved her life if they weren't scattered and unorganized. "I gained this in the process of that hunt." He gestured to his broken leg that was healing faster than he expected. He still couldn't walk on it due to the healing bones, he soon had to go back to Orion and Sofiel for more pain-killing herbs. He chuckled, looking at Ariste, his blue yes soft. "Now what about Erenyx? What is life like there? I heard it's not the happiest of homes." He tilted his head slightly looking at the black female with curiosity of her home. He wanted to know more about their lives without having to experience it for himself.
