The forest was lush and green. A set of paws traveled silently across the damp forest floor. Where leaves and branches should have crackled and snap there was no sound. As a lone wolf Zion knew very the meaning of stealth. His yellow-hazel eyes were dead and unfeeling. His coat thin and slightly bedragled. It clung to his form accenting the muscular stature and the strength that hid the beast within.

The 6 year old paused lifting his head and flicking his ears. He scented a pack close by. He flicked his tail and took a step forward, but hesitated. Was he ready to request a place within? Was he able to move on from the horror that had befallen his original pack? Zion didn't feel as if he was the best choice however the answer to his inner uestions was yes. He was ready to settle down. He was ready to begin anew and dedicate his life to something other than this loathesome existence he called a life. The truth was he had been ready since he had left his desolated homeland. He sighed and padded forward his head at a 180 degree to his body. His strong legs propelling him forward eve as he wiped his mind clean. A fresh start is what he needed a chance to officially be the wolf he was always meant to be.

Pausing at the border he inhaled deeply. The scent of the residential pack was stronger here. Signs of quite a few in number. Raising his head he looked at the sky sending a silent prayer to the moon goddess to give him strength before he howled. His deep alto note carrying for miles as he called to the pack that resided here. He allowed the note to carry before sitting back on his hunches in the brush that made him almost blend with his surroundings. One would have to look closely in order to see him. He liked it that way. His ability to blend was a strong suit of his. For this it made him very good at becoming one with his surroundings. Now it was time to wait. He sat in silence focusing on the sounds around him waiting for the inevitable meeting to come.

Rose's paws carried her forth from the camp clearing. Her tail swayed as she went to do something she found herself quite enjoying, the border patrol. She liked meeting the many new wolves that wished to be accepted into the pack. Her ears flicked with each step she took, one stride after the other. Her paws hardly touched the ground as she kept moving, body and tail swaying with every joyful step she took. Her heart was beating and her breathing was gentle, she decided to take it fairly slow today. She was always running but now she was going to try to take it easy and relax. A howl interrupted her thoughts and instantly threw her from taking it slow to running at her full speed. She let her own soft voice ring out in a responding howl. Her paws slid across the earth as she pushed herself forward in a quick run. Her tail swung behind her and she felt as if she could just jump for joy. She was in one of her best moods and as she neared the border, she slowed her pace and caught her breath. She let her tail swing neutrally between her legs and she hid in the shadows until she saw the he-wolf that had called her forth. Slowly, she approached with a smile upon her face. She sat down and curled her tail around her body and let it rest upon her front paws. "Hello fair stranger, I am Delta Rose of these lands known as Helidos. Whom might you be and is there anyway I may be able to help you?" She smiled and tilted her head ever so slightly to show she was curious. Her ears flicked slightly as she awaited to hear the male speak unto her. She swayed with the autumn wind that wove it's way through the woods they were in. Rose kept herself friendly, as that was all she could ever do to welcome another. Her amber eyes searched the brute in front of her, watching him carefully in case he may attack. She rolled her shoulders back and made sure she sat very still and straight, but relaxed to let the other wolf know that was of no harm to him.

Zion watched as the most beautiful fae he had ever seen approached him. For a moment he was speechless even as she spoke to him. His heart pounding in his ears at the mere sight of her, but when she spoke he felt as if his very heart would burst. Her voice so beautiful is was like an angel. After a moment he realized he was staring like an idiot. He slowly exited the brush he stood in and walked forward to sit before her.

"Good afternoon, mi'lady. Thank you for answering my call. My name is Zion." he bowed his head his yellow-hazel eyes staring into hers with an unreadable emotion. Something between awe and confusion. Normally Zion was the emotionless, unreadable type but this female, for some unusual reason was causing his entire demeanor to fall apart. However, he made an attempt to keep his mask in place.

"I have come to seek acceptance into your pack known as Helidos. I was to be a warrior in my first pack but am now little more than a Loner. I wish to dedicate my life and my skills to such a pack as I have heard. " he stated in a calm voice. He noticed he was slightly larger than the female but chose to keep his head low out of respect for the beautiful fae.

Rose listened closely to the male as he spoke, nodding her head and paying close attention to the way he acted. Her amber eyes met his gaze and she smiled warmly, nodding her head firmly. She could see the respect and even though he be larger then she was, she nearly wanted to laugh. Her smooth white pelt ruffled with the wind and she tilted her head ever so slightly. "It is a pleasure to meet you Zion. These lands before are known as Helidos. I am pleased to hear that this pack has grown to be heard from other lands and to bring us great wolves such as yourself with high respect." A smile danced across her maw and her amber eyes sparkled with joy. "If you seek acceptance, Zion... I must ask, though you say you were going to be a warrior... can you tell me more about yourself? The lands which you hail from and perhaps some information that can give me insight on you, only to make sure you will be of no harm to this pack." She took a deep breath and let it slowly, trying to make sure she caught every body movement he made. "Be at ease, sit up. If you do not wish to speak about yourself, it is alright." She nodded again, her tail wagging and brushing against the ground. She felt extra happy that day as she felt the warmer weather. It made her pleased, to have warmth in the cold. It also made her happy that she was able to bring new members into the pack. She tilted her head in a curious manner, waiting to hear the male speak and answer. Either way, she felt confident that she would make him a Warrior. But she wouldn't mind gaining more information about him and know that her judgement was correct.

Zion couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him. She was absolutely the image of pure of a Rose by which her name was.. At her questions he hesitated slightly a hint of sorrow entering his yellow-hazel eyes however he masked it as he raised his head to his full height sitting back on his hunches, before he began his story.
"From what I know of my birth pack, my mother was an Alpha. A noble woman with the biggest heart of any wolf. Her mate, was a quiet wolf, and to my knowledge I don't know very much other than a fearless fighter. My mother passed the night of my birth so I know only what my adopted father has told me of them. My adopted father loved my mother and was once a member in her pack. When he went off on his own he forged a pack of his own. He adopted me out of his love for my mother, raised me as his own. I trained with our top sentinel, called Maugrim. You may know of him for he is known throughout the land as A Wolf Bairn of Satan. He trained me until I was able to go out on my own. The day I was to become a warrior however, I declined and went off on my own. As you know most young bullheaded 2 year old wolves do." Here Zion paused remembering his past before he continued. "I traveled for two years. Occasionally training with other warriors of different packs. I learned much from them all but never as much as Maugrim taught me. When I returned to visit pack I found that a fire had erupted there, and a pride of mountain lions had moved in after it. My pack was killed and I had been none the wiser. I left a few days later and struck out again on my own. Its now been two years since that day. I have picked many fights with animals my size or larger and have honed my skills in fighting. Twas from one of these encounters that I heard of this pack. After hearing about it I came to the decision there and then that I want something more in my life. I need something to live and fight for. A pack who I know I will lay down my life for. And, perhaps, if the moon allows a female to call mate at my side." At these last words Zion's eyes fixed on Rose's. His heart fluttering in rhythm to her fur as it ruffled in the breeze. Sniffing subtly he noted that there was not a scent of male on her and realized she was not mated. His heart soared but he kept his demeanor calm. He needed to remain complacent. This female would not be won by fair words he knew that, but now, standing before him was a reason to live on. A purpose, someone he wanted to lay down his life for. He had just met her but those eyes of hers watching him, like luminous orbs, told him that it did not matter. He knew without a doubt he would give his life for this female.

Rose watched a hint of sorrow crossed his face and she instantly regretted putting him in such a position. She listened, her whole body relaxed but the look upon her face was sorrow and pity for the he-wolf. She could only listen, no words would form from her maw. She looked down at the ground slowly, trying to figure out what exactly to say to the brute. She stood up slowly, rolling her shoulders back and stepping forward to meet the male. "I am sorry for what has happened in your past. You have found a new home however, and with great honor, the pack of Helidos accepts you." She let the words fall out and then she took a few steps backwards. Her tails swung between her legs and it was then she finally noticed exactly how much bigger the he-wolf was compared to her. She knew wolves came in many sizes, but she was always surprised at how big some of them seemed to be. "Welcome to Helidos Warrior Zion. The pack clearing is this way." She tilted her head in the direction behind her, amber eyes sparkling with joy as she accepted the newest member of the pack. She twisted back to look at the male and nodded her head firmly. "I believe making you a warrior is a smart thing, it is good to know that wolves like you will be protecting our home and family." She took a few steps backwards and turned, walking in the direction of the camp clearing. Her tail swayed in a wag and she tilted her head ever so slightly in order to feel the wind against her face. Her paws touched the leaves that scattered the ground, and then lifted into the air as she took strong steps in the direction of the camp. Her ears flicked backwards and she smiled. She wasn't sure if the male was following her, but either way, she truly did not mind. She had given him a home and he would surely find a den in the clearing, where he could then line it with pelts.
