She had only been accepted a few hours ago, to her new life, with a new place to add to her list. But she wanted it to be her last place, because it seemed so perfect and pure, she wanted to be a part of it. A part of a pack. But she decided that she wanted to explore around her home for a few hours before she dared to enter the bowl of stares, whispers, and questions.

Maria had been walking through the woods, her light colored coat standing out against the various greens around her, when the slight sound of running water over came the thumping of her paws against the forest floor. Her icy blue gaze looked down to the ground in thought about to go and seek out the water or not. She soon began to move forward, her paws flying over the grass and leafs in a silent motion towards the trickling water sound.

Soon she came to a clearing and she found herself staring down the most beautiful waterfall she had seen in years. Water flows off a large collection of rocks into an inviting pool of cool water. Maria was stunned for a few moments before her unblinking gaze brought her to the edge of the water where she looked down into the tiny ripples that wrinkled her reflection.

But that didn't bother her one bit, it was so peacefully perfect here that Maria declared it her favorite spot. She wanted to stay here for ever, or at least a few more hours. Just so she could get a feeling of the place and so she could think out loud the things she need to think through. "How are you going to act Maria? You don't want to come off like a weakling, but you don't want to come off like a thick headed female either." Maria spoke softly to the water, her hind legs slowly folding until she was resting on her haunches. "You really shouldn't go after another male for a while. But when you see those adorable little pups... No, you must be strong." Maria says for a moment, before she watches a single tear leak out of her eye, slip down her cheek, and fall into the water. 'What a wreck you are Maria...' She thinks to herself before loosing feeling in her front legs and falling to the grass with a thud as she comes to the conclusion that she was frustrated with herself.

his thoughts were the ocean
his worries were the waves
his anxiety was the current
and the winds were the memories he'd saved
the waves got rougher
the current grew stronger
the winds turned harsher
and into the ocean he fell
sinking deeper and deeper to the bottom
because he's too afraid for anyone
to hear his cries
he's been hurt too much
and tousled among the waves
he's too afraid to even be saved

Silent poems flowed through Zane's thoughts like a broken dam. His body weak from his endless journey, he sought out for peace and sanity. The voices were quiet, for now, as he approached the beauty before him. Observing the terrain with his silver orbs perched beneath his furrowed brow, the whispers in his mind suddenly seized. A fae as white as a cloud rested beside the bed of water, mumbling to herself. She seemed lost in her thoughts, just as Zane had been all his life. His nose twitched as the female emitted a wondrous scent that overwhelmed his body. The floral-like breeze tousled his mane as he watched her pure fur wisp in the wind. Mesmerized, he stopped in his tracks. I mus'nt disturb her, his anxious thoughts worried.

The brute soon became self conscious of his bear-like appearance which had so often damaged his ego previously. However he could not move, as his ears remained erected, eyes glowing with curiosity, muscles stiffened beneath his flesh. His stature perched high, he could be mistaken as a threat. How could this fae leave me like this? Mesmerized? He wondered, as he reminisced he had never taken interest in the female population before.

Fighting against his body, he was frozen in awe; both at the wolf before him and at his reaction to this encounter. Attempting to move his maw in a greeting, a sinister case of nervous cottonmouth instantly dried up his words. However his dry tongue managed to salivate just enough to announce his presence, "Hello."

While the snow white coated female sat in frustration and utter hate for her own being, she was lost in her own memories. Memories she never could find herself to relive or revisit. But this sanctuary, this place, its steady falls gave the young she wolf an open window to access just that. Suddenly, while the pictures of her memories seem to appear in the calm water before her, a soft greetings was given from behind. Her icy blue eyes came back to reality as she registered the sound over and over again in her perked ears. Turning her head around slowly, she found herself staring at an unknown face only a few feet away.

The presents of the male gave Maria a little shock, 'How in the world did you manage to sneak up on me like that?' She thought to herself as she remained quiet. The female remained frozen, lost in an endless gaze as she looked over the male. He was largely built, yet seemed so drained of energy. His dark pelt giving him a mysterious pull on Maria, or was it just season? She had met Marrok only a few hours ago, and didn't feel a pull. Perhaps it was because she knew of his mate Juno. But this male hadn't been searched, he hadn't been explored, a new land for Maria to discover.

Finding enough courage in her still and stiffened body, "Hello..." A soft but unafraid voice slipped through the surprised fae. Lifting her slim figure off the steady ground to turn fully and face the brute, her head low as she wondered if he was of high rank, looking from the ground for a moment at the thought, then back up to meet his gaze.

she had the same blue eyes
crystal ships
dripping with ice

Zane's tail instinctively began to sway from side to side as her beautiful soft music rang through his ear canals. Another gust of wind fluttered through her fur like a butterfly's wings, Zane viewed the beauty in awe.

"Thy voice is very alluring, my dear mistress. Please, do present thy name." Zane's throat bellowed his deep husky voice with a sudden sense of confidence. The brute's victorian dialect and strange foreign accent announced itself clearly in his two short sentences that rolled off his pink tongue. Silver orbs eyed the delicate female, piercing her soul as his pupils dilated with delight. The raven male's stature suddenly increased as he aligned his spine properly, reveling his broad anatomy and thick muscles. Testosterone chemicals released into his muscles, thickening them with brawn and strength. Rippling and bulging beneath his ashen flesh, his muscles ached to lift his long members towards the fae.

"May I sit?" He politely asked, all his inner demons retreating into the crypts of his abdomen at his unusual demeanor. Suddenly, the voices were silent. And all that spoke, were the thoughts of Zane. Enjoying this newly found sanity, the brute slowly approached the elegant fae, lowering his massive head respectfully as he did so. As he neared her, he realized just how dainty her embodiment was. Something inside him loved it about her, enjoying the potential power he could have over her. And something inside him was terrified he might crush her by accident if he miscalculated the distance between them. His bear-like paws hardly made a sound as he softly pressed into the Earth, approaching the female with profound grace.

When the male spoke in such a strange voice, Maria couldn't help but to tilt her head slightly to the side. Such a strange and lovely voice, so proper and thoughtful, yet was so deep and held much mystery. Maria questioned the request though, she wasn't use to having anyone ask for her name, let alone a brute. Though her short pause had used to much time to answer, as he was already slowly creeping forward, his body mass seemed to be growing while he did so.

The purely white female began to breathe quicker, something swirling in her blood stream that created the motion, as the male requested to sit by her. Gazing down beside her, she smiled as though the request was actually a joke, for clearly he could sit by her if he really wanted. Maria then followed the large paws up his muscular legs, to the wide shoulders that held his handsome face. "You may sit, and...my name is Maria." A more shy Maria speaks. Her banner sweeping the ground as a pleasure grew inside her, she only hoped that he would stay awhile, and they would get to know each other.

"May I know your name as well?" She says with more bravery, getting more and more comfortable, and in control of her own body. 'It is strange to have these feelings, it must be because of the season. Or is it, that he has this effect over me?' The wondering fae works through the possible reasons for their behavior. But this was mother natures intentions correct? Some how, this was part of a natural plan.

Realizing she had been staring at the male, she smiled softly before gazing down, a worry she was making herself look like a fool entering into the pot of overwhelming emotions she was having.

His inner demons screamed in protests to the newly found emotions swirling within his being. His soul shined brighter than ever, a dumbfounded expression streaked across his massive snout, almost a smile. Zane silenced the chattering within, as he produced an abrupt nod in response to her breathless question, "Zane." he prompted as if nothing could escape his tongue as boring as his own title.

As he finished the last vowel, the brute plopped his wide embodiment onto the Earth with an audible 'thump', practically shaking the forest down to her roots. His massive weight pressing into the grass-covered soil, small grasshoppers and other insects retreated in a wave-like fashion. He chuckled softly as the strange dance the winged insects preformed in unison, like they had been rehearsing in his absence.

Shyly, Zane studied the she-wolf like a piece of art, particularly eyeing her small torso. He observed her ribs, wondering what they would feel like against his flank. Piercing opticals slowly traced along her body to her hindquarters, where his hormones surged; flattening his ears in embarrassment he worried if she'd noticed. Anxious thoughts arose as his pupils narrowed into small islands in a blank sea of nothingness. His demons crept up his throat, flicking their forked tongues and they clawed their way up. Hastily, he created a distraction, "May I question as to why thou has come here?" he forces out the words as if vomit was filling his throat, acid denigrating his esophagus. Only vomiting would be the least of his problems, as he knew very well this sinister encounter was not bile produced from his stomach. It was his demons.

With her ears perking at the name he had given her, Zane, the name echoing in her currently blank mind. But shortly after, he had sat down beside her, causing Maria to gazing back up to his optics, only to find that they would not be on her own. She didn't have to follow his gaze to know where they had landed, and the snowy pelted female returned to look to the forest floor with a slightly amused smile across her maw. The only wonder that remained for her, was how loose he would let his temptations go.

When Zane had rushed a question about her being at the falls, Maria stiffened slightly. She herself had been wondering just that a few moments before the brute had arrived. Turning away for moment, as she recalled the memories that needed so much strength and silence to return to. Once she had taken in a few deep breaths, she turned back to Zane with a cleared expression. "I guess I just needed some time alone to...think about the past. That way I can look forward to the future." Her words soft as silk, ringing with truth that she herself couldn't have known before they had left her lips. Puzzled by her own words, her eyes narrowed as they fell to the midnight colored chest of the brute, deep in thought.

Once she lost interest in the words, she returned to the brutes silvery gaze, wondering if she could ask him the same. "What about you?" She requests with a light smile towards the male. Until she realized just how close she was to him, looking down to herself and finding that she had been leaning towards Zane. Straightening herself, she felt embarrassment flop into her pot as well, and looked to Zane for something to distract her feelings.

between his lashes
tears fell coldly
with no one there to catch them
no one there
to encourage him to fight
no one there
to wipe away his tears
no one there
to pray away his fears
all he had
was himself
and i guess
that wasnt all that bad

They chanted forsaken poems into his pounding eardrums as Their words of hatred stung his heart. Venom splattered from their dripping fangs, poisoning his mind with their sinful influences. You can have her. She's much smaller than you. Temptation is a wonderful thing. A low growl began to rumble deep within his chest, vibrating his vocal cords in response to the intrusion of his demons.

Her soft question pressed his nightmarish childhood reveries out of his consciousness. Blinking rapidly for a few moments, he focused his optics upon the fae, her delicate face painting a shy expression across her snowy pelt. "I suppose... er- perhaps... uhm..." Zane had trouble articulating a sentence as he filed through his thoughts, why had he come here? "The singing water." He finally answered as he tilted his head towards the waterfall. His pupils caught eye of the mist that begun to surround them, soaking the top layer of his thick raven pelt with droplets of water. His silver, almost non-pigmented orbs drifted towards the darkening sky, dialating with surprise as a raindrop plopped abruptly upon his nose.

Shaking his head swiftly and releasing a low sneeze, he sighed as he unleashed the built up tension within his nostrils. Suddenly, Zane processed Maria's initial words. He quickly mounted his limbs like stilts under his large anatomy as his ears flattened in embarrassment, "My deepest apologies. Does thou continue to wish for solitude?"

When she gazed over to the falls he mentioned, she caught sight of the low fog that was slowly drifting in around the two, it made the brute seem more, mysterious and now slightly dangerous. She could remember reminders of her mother saying to walk away in these kind of situations, but Maria wouldn't have any of it. She wanted to know where this was going, and how long the brute would stay with her, or how long she had before some one interrupted them. It was now, that's all she had.

While she was thinking about what that meant, she noticed Zane was getting up, and had asked if she wanted to be alone. "No, please, stay awhile. I am done thinking about my past." Maria just about blurted out, but felt foolish, and blinked at the strange voice. Realizing it wasn't really her own, but her temptations, she had to take a moment to gain control over them. Once that was done, the snowy fae gave a half smile at the brute before tilting her head to the falls, inviting him to join her, before turning to face them. With the cool fog setting in, the falls had grown a dark and mysterious look to their beauty.

Glancing down to the water, she caught sight of her own icy orb's reflections, so strange they looked with the hint of fog over the water. They looked, almost silver in the water. Suddenly, the fae was folding her haunches and slowly lowering her body to the cool ground, letting the tips of her paws touch the falls water. Her ears where then perked, as she listened for Zane's movement, wondering if she would her it fade away, or come closer. Maria simply stared across the pool of water, wrapping her silky tail around her as she imagined a future, the growing possibility of Zane in it...some where.
