The soundings of birds echoed in the still forest. The sun was just barely rising leaving the place cool for the time being. An earthy toned male strolled through the forest, leaves and twigs snapping and crunching under his weight. He had heard of three pack that devided the land and ruled with an iron fist. Of course Keoni had to see for himself if this rumor is true and if it was he might just join. After two years of being a loner he finally craved the company of his brethren. It was time for him to move on from the past and start anew. Hopefully these wolves would be kind enough to consider him to join. Keoni was trained in the arts of a warrior and healer so he had much to offer.

Letting out a sigh he could already feel the heat of the day. Stopping the five year old male lifted his cranium and took a deep breath of air through his nose. He was sniffing for signs of pack life and also food. He was hit strong with the scent of wolves and it seemed they weren't to far off from where he stood. Ignoring his hunger Keoni started walking towards the ever growing scent of wolves. Gradually he picked up his pace until he stopped. He knew wolves are territorial creatures and he didn't want to over step his boundaries. So he sat down and waited for a pack member to show.

The rays of the high sun beat down heavily onto the back of the black brute. It was in times like these when he wished he had another lighter color to wear all the time. Darker pelts just seemed to absorb as much heat as possible, even without the consent of the being. Nevertheless he carried on forward, trying to stay in the shade of the trees rather than the sunny spots. It was border patrol duty, and there had been nothing so far. No howls, enemies, nothing. Still he moved forward, his paws stepping carefully to avoid the few fallen leaves as his head was bent slightly lower than he would normally have it. Jaws parted his tongue lolled out over his chin as he panted, occasionally licking his lips. He was not tired, but simply that the heat was wearing him out a tad as he progressed. The sooner he finished this, the sooner he could go cool off in the beach or stream. And hopefully be alone. But his plans would have to wait because as he neared the end of his duty for now, a scent wavered into his nostrils.

Raising his head to a proper position the Delta sniffed the air, his ears flattening before returning to normal as his eyes narrowed slightly. Why hadn't he called? Lashing his tail he changed his gate to a light jog as he moved in towards the stranger. His golden orbs no longer narrowed but still a neutral look. As he ca e closer he slowed, taking in the appearance of the wolf as he approached. He was a male of mixed colors; cremes browns, blacks, grays, a hint of bronze. He was shorter than himself, but not a shabby height, more slender than bulk as well. But it could be seen that he had muscle beneath his rather rough looking coat beneath the top layer. Coming forward he stopped a few feet shy of the border, remaining silent as he gazed upon him with an emotionless stare. His jaws were closed now, until they opened to speak. "You sit at the borders of Agavos, staring into the trees. I have come now, but why had you not called for a wolf of authority? It would have saved both you and I, or someone else, time. No matter, my name is Delta Desoto, how may I assist you today?

The sounds of paw steps reached Keoni's ears causing him to look up. His Amber gaze landed onto a darker ebony male, and by the way he carried himself he held some kind of authority. Knowing fully well the structure of wolves he bowed his head down in respect and avoided eye contact. "I apologize if I have wasted your time, but it is hard to get out of old habits. I was only admiring these lands." Keoni spoke softly to the male before finishing his sentence. "Greetings Delta Desoto I am Keoni. Assistance isn't really what I'm looking for rather if I can join your ranks. I have heard of the packs that rule these lands and in hopes I came to see if I could join." He raised his head slightly to look the male in the eye for a fleeting moment. He wanted the male to know he was serious and honest in his decision.

Hopefully he would be accepted. Keoni had nothing to live for as of yet. It was in his greatest interest to begin his life anew. Five years of his life he spent proving himself and surviving while three years he spent alone. Traveling and learning about the world around him. However, it was time his wondering came to an end. Time for him to settle down again, and hopefully it can be for good. This place was alive with life as the bird sang their songs. Russling in the trees above indicated that the place was active. It was the vegetation and landscape that caught the brutes attention. It was one of the reasons he came to this pack first. The beauty filled his wonder for the world. It seemed he would find many herbs here in this territory and that thought alone made him giddy. However, he kept a cool and collected fascadé as he awaited the inky black males response.

His time had not been wasted, he was not planning on doing much, considering the rather laid back tone for the day, but he would have had more time to enjoy himself if he was given the time. Respectfully the stranger had apologized, but he hadn't heard of someone just wishing to gaze at a claimed land as they sat on the border for who knows how long. Altair had been curious about what lay inside, but he had called for assistance so he could be given permission to join the pack who lived here. Keoni just sat in silence, which was normal but Desoto had never heard of a wolf waiting patiently without giving some recognition to that they were waiting. But supposedly this was how things were done where he came from, and he wouldn't judge. The brute raised his head to meet the eyes of the Delta for a moment as he spoke of his reasoning to being here, then quickly looked away. It was a sign that he was serious, but how serious? Was he joining for the plants, or for the pack itself. He wouldn't ask, but would find the answer through the words spoken in reply to his questions.

Letting out a huff of breath through his nostrils, the sound audible before he drew in a soft breath and began to speak. "Heard of us, eh? Have to say, Agavos has not been around as long as the other two packs. Which I am guessing you know the names of if you have indeed heard of Age. What had you learned of each of the three packs, hmm? And why would you choose Agavos of them all?" His head was cocked to the side a smudge as his left brow was raised in question. He truly wanted to know why he would choose the newer one, there was not much known about it to outsiders yet. "Similarly, since you chose us, what could you offer me and my pack? What is your history with what you can offer and where do you come from?" His tone was neutral as he spoke still, raising and lowering to hit the key points of his questions. All of these he truly wished to know, besides he was curious of what made the brute want to join the pack of what he would like to call "odd-jobs."

Keoni sat there in silence as he mused over his response. He had heard about three packs, but one of them was not accepting at the moment. While the second was brutal and Keoni had had enough of fighting. It was why he changed his way's. Finally ready he spoke, "If I remember correctly Helidos was– is not accept any more members. From what I have heard of Erenyx is that they are harsh with their way's. Then there is your pack. It was simply the only one left. I do not know much of this pack, but I am willing to take a leap of faith." Keoni lifted his head up, but still avoided eye contact. He will be honest with himself. He did not know much of Age and the pack residents.

On his journey's he had only heard snippets of conversations from others. He only had a small percentage of knowledge of these packs, but he hoped his answer was what the wolf was looking for. Keoni maybe a strange wolf, but over the years one would expect that from a loner. At Delta Desoto's next question Keoni cringed. It was not something he liked to revisit so the beige male gave as short of an answer he could. "I hail from the Southern regions. In my birth pack I trained as a Warrior. For certain reasons I left my pack and headed West. There I found a pack and learned about medicine and became the packs Healer. However, I rather serve as a Healer here if you accept me."  Hopefully this was a good enough answer for he didn't want to share his life's story with a wolf he just met. Plus going down memory lane was not in his agenda.

OOC- So sorry for the wait Keo, thanks for being patient. Also, take as much time as you need to reply. I am sorry for your loss and hope you feel better about it soon.

The loner took a few moments to gather his words before he spoke, answering the pack wolf's first question. He did have knowledge that was for sure, but from where he didn't know. Maybe a wolf whom had lived here once but has left to fulfill life elsewhere. He nodded along with him, approving his words. Erenyx was very cold and harsh, he should know. After all he used to be one of them, along with Fel and a few others he believed. Since then, the pack had become smaller, and more evil-willed one could say. Helidos had an abundance of members, so newcomers were not needed for the most part. Their rival, however, did. And Agavos was, well, standing by and watching things unfold with the rouges.

When Desoto asked his next question, he could see the wolf cringe. Touchy subject hmm? He thought to himself. He almost wanted to laugh at the answer that was given to him. It was short; five sentences for his two weighted questions. Yet he had explained enough for the brute to know that he knew the skills of a warrior and and  healer. And from his answer and the way he reacted to the question itself, he preferred to stay out of violence. Flicking his tail he gave Keoni another judging look as he scanned his body up and down. "We currently have three healers here, though another one would not be so bad. One of ours is blind, but he knows damn well what he is doing. So, Keoni, I will allow you to step into our territory and join us if you pledge your life, duty, and service to Agavos. Should you do so, you may enter our pack as one of our own, and will be given the rank as a Healer."

OOC- Thank you Des and no worries about posting. I am dealing well and trying to distract myself. Thank you for your consideration. Sorry if the post is crappy, I didn't really know what to say.

Keo watched the Delta as he gave him a judging look. He was not bothered by it for he did not give a damn on what the Delta thought about him. He had learned that not everyone can be pleased by him or his existence and so he ignored the Delta's stare. At the sound of Desoto speaking Keoni perked up, his ears shoved forward in excitement at the black Deltas words. He had to refrain from jumping up from his sitting position and just leaping over the boarder to where the Delta stood.

It was interesting that they had a blind wolf as a healer. Keoni being the curious being he is wondered on how a wolf could know what he was doing when he couldn't see, however the bronzed colored male knew that a blind wolf had better hearing and sense of smell to help with the lack of sight. So he must be a pretty good healer if he could heal while not being able to see. Maybe Keoni himself could learn from the blind wolf. He might just learn somethings. Getting up on all fours, Keoni looked the Delta straight into his eyes. Taking a deep breath in he spoke, "I, Keoni, pledge to Agavos with my life to serve the pack to the best of my ability and play my role as Healer." With that said the male walked across the boarder and stood a few lengths away from the inky black brute. The earthy furred male turned his head around as he scanned the scenery.

He couldn't wait to go in deeper and explore the new territories vastness, but first he needed to get to know the pack or at least try to. Taking a deep breath Keoni drank in the air. His nostrils were attacked with the many scents that covered the forest. The place reeked of Agavos yet it tangled with the smell of other animals and plants. Keoni let out his breath through his jaws as he registered the packs smell. He so far had distinguished Desoto's scent from other Agavos wolves and the packs scent. Turning his head to look at the Delta Keoni waited for him to lead him to the pack.

As the other took in a deep breath and swore himself unto the pack, the brute let his head dip down and up in a sharp nod. Their gazes had locked in those few seconds, the newcomer showing his complete honest towards the higher ranked. Once finishing, Keoni strode across the border, stopping a lengths away from his shadowy form and took in the surrounding area. Letting a small smile come across his face in reaction to the wolf's obvious happiness, he chuckled. It was there for a few seconds before the sound ended, being replaced by words. "Welcome home, Healer Keoni. You are free to wander about the territory, or follow me back to the pack clearing. The choice is yours." Without another word, he took a step back and pivoted on his heel and walked deeper into the territory. Like he had said it was the healer's choice, but after a few paces he would glance over his shoulder to see which of the two he had made.

Welcome to Agavos, Keoni! Please change your name to "Healer Keoni" and join the Agavos group under the "Ranks" tab at the top of the page. You are free to reply to this, but you do not have to.
