It was summer time, a favorite time of year for Remus or at least it had been. Summer now just made him feel cold and empty inside, as did every single season. Remus walked forward, his amber eyes looked tired but they were still alert. Having been chased for almost over a year he had learned a few tricks about evading and keeping away from other wolves. Many thoughts were on his mind, why join a pack? What is the use? He needed a home, protection and something to focus on. When he finally lost the rogues that had been chasing him, it had left him alone with his thoughts and he had crawled into a dark place. It was his choice to escape or keep going, and he chose to escape. When coming close to the territory of Erenyx he made a beeline for the border. His brown ears were flicking nervously as he tried to catch different sounds, each soft and almost silent against the roaring of his own blood. The sun beat down on his black markings, making him pant as he walked. The dirt and grit he had gotten so used to encountering was now stinging his paws, forcing up into his cracked pads. He had not had a chance to find a healer, or even treat himself in many many months. Remus was on the skinny side, and smaller than most male wolves but he still had his speed. It was his speed that kept him from dying, it was his speed that caught prey and it was his speed that made him strong and sleek. He had his skills in fighting, when growing up he had been taught by his mother and the rogue that hunted him down. His fighting skills could be improved, and he was sure when joining a pack that they would be. He had no real knowledge of the lands he had ran into, but it didn’t matter to him right now.

Running on an empty stomach had made his hunger reach impossible levels. Even in the lands, he had to hunt and pass through the underbrush he had found the remains of a rabbit. He snacked on what he could but it of course, didn’t push away his hungry. He moved on, the dirt stinging his paws like small needles and the warm wet feeling he felt after a few moments of trotting was blood. The only problem he had before this was the bleeding crack pads and it had always caused him trouble. He stopped just near the border of Erenyx, licking his wounds like a sick dog would. The bleed subsided for now, but it had left a trail of bloody paws in his wake. If a wolf was not patrolling now they would soon especially with the smell of blood. Sighing, the thin male lifted his muzzle up and breathed in. The sweet summer air filled his lungs as he got ready to howl, and once it let free he not only called out to the pack that sat before him, but also let out some built up anguish. Once his howl was done, he waited his amber eyes focused on the trees and the brush. He didn’t hate himself for what happened, not hate was not strong enough. He blamed himself, and would always blame himself but there was something nagging at him. Something kept pushing him farther and farther away, pushing him to become something better. Perhaps death was on it’s way and it would take him finally, but he doubted it. Death would be kind and accepted, not painful and pushed away. He knew that when his time came it would be the most painful death he could experience, and that was possibly all he could ask for now. Remus sat, his black and brown tail curled next to his thigh, the tip just barely touching the side of his foot, his back was straight and his head was raised. His amber eyes flicked from tree to tree, gazing with a lost look in his eyes. This was a change that called to him, and perhaps he could make a true home of this place and move on. Even you doubt that… he thought as he waited for a wolf to appear and judge him, assess his needs and see if he was worthy.

It had not taken the Guardian long to realize what was expected of her rank. It was quite simple really, her main duty was to protect the alpha. It was the main purpose of the Guardian, Teren's own personal Guard. This wasn't a pleasant thought giving the fact that all she wanted to do was see him dead. He deserved no protecting. Sighing she picked her way carefully through the long grass. Apart from that there was just pretty easy stuff like being around the pack area much more often than she liked, staying nearer to Teren, appearing for any important pack events, patrolling borders...all that fun stuff. And she supposed if she really wanted to go all out, she could also take on apprentices. A good few high ranked wolves seemed to do this. She doubted she'd have the time but if she ever felt like she needed to get further onto Teren's good side and really show just how serious she took being his Guardian, then she supposed it wouldn't do her much harm. And then there was Accepting new wolves at the borders..It would probably be her least favorite thing to after the whole protecting Teren with her life thing. That was just....no. But accepting wolves wasn't a liked thing either, she did not want to give these wolves to Teren. Wanted to send them away before they could be turned into monsters or die off, unable to get away yet unable to take the brutality. Of course most had already been twisted upon arriving at the borders but she really did doubt that this place helped in any way. That was why she trudged forward as slowly as possible after the howl had sounded not too far off and she'd forced herself to go deal with it. Gotta please the big boy Teren. She just kept reminding herself that soon Samael would own this pack -leaving out any thoughts of how he could fail since there was a good few...- and hoping that some of these wolves would stick around for the new leader.

Giving up on the slow walk to be with her thoughts, she broke into a fast trot. It seemed that she was actually better off not focusing on her thoughts. Dark place that mind of hers was. As she hopped over the long lush grass, indifferent to the lively effects of Summer coming in the forms of heat, lush vegetation and little critters everywhere, she wondered idly who the other Guardian was. The Guardian male was. This really was something she should know but like, she didn't know a whole lot about this pack. She knew Alpha Teren and Beta Irrationality...and Delta Ariste if she still was Delta of course. Maybe she should make a point to meet this Guardian male at some point, if one even existed. She knew some ranks were still available but she wasn't too sure which ones they were. As the scents of a new wolf began to fill her nostrils, Tundra slowed until she was walking on light and silent paws. She let her tail hang lazily over her back and stepped into view, taking in the brute before her. The scent of blood reached her in seconds and her gaze narrowed suspiciously before it noticed the little trail of bloody pawprints leading to where this earthen coloured male now sat. It was hard to tell as he was sitting but he didn't seem that large for a male and did not seem too threatening either. Still, she kept herself completely alert and muscles tense and ready to attack if needed. However to this brute she would appear quite relaxed as a lazy yet empty hazel gaze would rest on him, tail tip twitching as it rested on her back.

"Greetings brute. I do not have much time so let's make this quick okay? You stand on the borders of Erenyx, ruled by Alpha Teren. I am his Guardian. I need a name from you and even though it is quite obvious as to why you are here I must ask you for the reason you are standing on this border." She stated in a voice unnervingly void of emotion and remaining an icy cool. She did not demand a big display of him rolling over to expose his stomach beneath her but the piercing hazel gaze that rested on him demanded respect. "I suspect that you must have cracked pads as the blood smells only like you and nothing else to suggest you walked in someone else's and I cannot see it anywhere else on your body but I would like you to confirm my thoughts for me or if I am wrong, tell where it comes or came from." She was aware that she had not given him a name but that did not matter, she could not see her name being necessary. As she watched him closely she wondered if he knew what he was getting himself in to. Had he any idea what this pack was like? However for now she kept completely composed and silent, only speaking when needed. The warm summer breeze tugged at her fur as the pretty little Guardian stood awaiting a reply from the brute.

The summer breeze ruffled through the trees bringing a stronger scent to the russet and light brown colored male as he focused sharpening his gaze where he could hear breathing. Another wolf had come soon enough to see him, was he surprised at the quickness? No, he wasn’t really surprised. He had never been in a fully functioning pack before but he had seen plenty work together. Being on the run made it hard to stop and appreciate things as sitting and watching, but he had been able to see some things. Wolves requesting to join a pack had to be respectful, as he planned on being, he also had to sit straight and calm. He felt calm as he sat despite the warm sun on his back and the blood against his paws. The borderline he sat upon was grassy, and very thick almost like a camouflage. The breeze that stirred the trees also came around him, swirling the grass to and fro ticking his pelt as he sat. Amber eyes continuously stared forward, waiting for the first signs of movement. The smaller brute did not have to wait long to see a white fae leap over a lusher part of the grass and walk forward. He could see her tail was curled over her back but it wasn’t like an alpha’s would be. He didn’t know the ranking system past alpha and beta but he did know that other ranks higher up did exist. He didn’t think that she was either alpha or beta, she seemed a little tense. Who wouldn’t be? He thought sitting in silence as he looked over the white female. He could see in her soft brown eyes that something was amiss, but it was not his place to ask. Growing up, Remus had learned to pick up certain things and emotions happened to be one of them. He had seen her nostrils flare as she walked, he had no doubt in his mind that she had smelled his blood. If he were to lift his paws now, she would see the blood stained across the green grass. He had a feeling if she wanted to know, she would ask but other than that she was silent.

When she finally spoke, her voice was cold and had hardly any emotion in it. A ploy perhaps? Why so emotionless? He thought watching her with clear amber eyes as he tried to assess why she was in a hurry. He listened to her words carefully, picking out the most important ones. Alpha Teren, Erenyx and Guardian. The rest he had heard but those were the most important to stick in his mind. He looked her over once more, nodding his head realizing that Guardian was a good rank for the most trusted wolf of the pack. From what he had already gathered, she had to protect the alpha which he assumed the alpha would only pick wolves he really trusted. How kind.. He thought sarcastically before opening his maw to speak. “My name is Remus. I stand at these borders in order to obtain a home and a pack that I can successfully be apart of.” He answered both of her questions without much hesitation. He didn’t feel like digging up his whole backstory just to be accepted at a border. No wolf had time to hear about his past, and even if they did he probably wouldn’t reveal it quite so soon. In the pretty fae’s eyes he could see that she demanded respect, and it made him wonder if she was new to accepting wolves. If she wasn’t, she was probably bored of them. When she asked about his cracked paw pads, he wasn’t surprised. Nothing really surprised him anymore, and if it did well his reactions weren’t always the most extravagant. With the tip of his tail twitching in the breeze, he nodded his dark brown head, the black on his face standing out against the sunlight. “Cracked paw pads are something common for me, since I have been running and walking for a long time. As I was walking up to the border my paws started to bleed once more, I have not had a proper healer look at it.” He said lifting up one paw a few inches off the ground so she could see the blood that had formed in the green grass. It look almost unnatural to see the blood staining the grass. The crimson was bright against the dark green and he gazed back up to the fae silently. He didn’t really have anything else to add to his words, she had asked and he had answered. Now it was her turn to answer.

A large butterfly fluttered by lazily, colourful wings flapping in the gentle breeze. She watched it absentmindedly as the uniquely beautiful insect landed on the swaying head of a large flower. Sad how such a beautiful creature lived such a short life. Sighing, she turned her hazel gaze back to the lone brute that stood at the borders of hell. His amber gaze bore into her and she raised a brow as it flicked over her in an assessing manner. He wasn't acting scared but that didn't bother Tundra as it seemed to bother some of the other high ranked wolves, as long as he wasn't bold she would not grow overly dominant. Her piercing gaze of hazel met his lighter coloured one and she would hold it boldly until he should glance away. He seemed slightly confused as he watched her, looking at her as if something was off. Possibly the lack of emotion visible anywhere on the fae, she was empty inside and out. Most wolves would try and grab onto the evidence of what emotions ran  through what their company so they had an idea of what they were dealing with but there was nothing to grab hold of no matter how many times you stared deep into Tundra's eyes or focused on her body movements. Unless you were lucky that was...Anyway, she was used to getting looks like this when one realized that there was simply nothing there.

She had been getting these looks less and less though as emotions had begun to free themselves. Flicking her ears, she returned her focus to the situation at hand- tail flicking from side to side over her back. He finally gave his name and the reason why he stood on these borders. A home.... These words brought a bitter smile to the fae's lips however she did not give him a reason for it, let him guess away. She had soon realized that Erenyx was not a home, an army maybe...or even a prison..That's what it felt like for her anyway, she hated this place. The one wolf she had truly cared about here had been chased away yet for his sake and maybe her own too, she had to remain here and pretend she was happy about that. At least she had Malachai, the other white pelted wolf was a good friend to have in this place. He was very decent compared to what you usually found. She did not speak after Remus' introduction and instead remained silent as she awaited an answer to her second question. Remus...sounded safe enough. The smile was gone and she once again watched him closely and silently. He did not keep her waiting long and confirmed her thoughts about him having cracked pads.

With a nod, she spoke quickly and straight to the point, not wanting to waste any time. "Then we'll get this done quickly so you can go have a healer take a look." The lush grass was tickling at her own pads and she lifted one paw only to rub it along the ground in front of her absentmindedly, flattening the grass as she did it. "Now Remus, you must tell me, what skills can you bring to this pack? It may be Summer now and prey is plentiful but Winter will arrive eventually and you'll need to be more than another mouth to feed or we'll have to.....eliminate you so that those that actually contribute to the pack can be getting enough food." She stated bluntly, watching closely for his reaction. She had given him a little hint at to what the life in Erenyx was like, they were no family like Helidos or even Agavos although she knew little about the new pack led by a former rogue supposedly. This pack was very 'every wolf for themselves' considering the fact that they were a pack. She would wait for a reply and go from there, no need to plan ahead. Letting herself lean back on her haunches, she watched through narrowed eyes as her tail curled neatly over creamy paws.

[I am sorry for how bad this is. I have not been feeling very well today.]

The summer wind was delicate against the male’s russet fur as he sat, as the wind blew by a gentle creature known as a butterfly floated by. It was strange to see something so fragile out amongst the vast trees and plants. His eyes followed the butterfly as it landed on a large flower to drink its nectar and move on. It was a momentary distraction, but at least it had been a good one. Remus let his gaze slip back towards the white fae as she sat there with a cold emotionless gaze. Since he had looked to her first, she looked back, almost challenging him to look away. Out of respect, Remus looked away from her eyes and back to the butterfly that had taken its chance and ridden away with the warm breeze onto plants farther away. He didn’t know the fae that sat before him, and even if he had he probably wouldn’t have known her to well anyway. Remus was different he had learned that talking to others, especially about the past, was a big mistake. His actions brought forth death and grief not only amongst himself but to others. Many days would go by where Remus thought to himself that he would have been better off dead. He had caused the death of his loved one, and it was only fair to have the others rip him apart. No emotion showed in Remus’s hard amber eyes as he thought about the past, only coldness sat in the depths of his soul. Some of his past brought him here, but maybe his will to live also pushed him harder. He wasn’t sure but whatever it was there really wasn’t any turning back now.

The bitter smile that Remus saw on Tundra’s lips was no lie. Why it came to her lips when he spoke of a home was a slight mystery to him but he was also curious. What did this fae really think of her pack? From the way she reacted to the word home, it was obviously not a home like place. To him, it really didn’t matter if he had a home or not just as long as he was able to function in a pack. She had spoke the name of the alpha earlier, and tried to recall if he had heard the name before or not. It didn’t come to mind, so he wasn’t exactly sure what to think of. He didn’t really stop to talk to anyone on the way in either, so if he had heard of this pack it would still be his choice. After he had spoke his name, she seemed to at least think he was safe. Fighting was something he could enjoy but it was usually his last option. He would always think of himself as a fighter, despite having been built to run from rogues. He did remember his close call, and almost killing one..but that was another story. She had waited a full minute or so to speak after he had replied to her question about his paws. It was good that she wanted to get it done quickly he was tired of waiting.

Shifting his weight from his front paws, made them throb less and the blood lessened a bit. The grass had stopped trying to soak up his blood and now it was just mixing with the soft dirt that had been pushed under his paws. There was a stinging sensation but he ignored it, waiting for Tundra to continue talking. He moved his tail as she spoke, the grass under its weight flattening as if he had sat there. After she finished speaking, it dawned on him just a small bit that this pack would be like living with the rogues. Instead of disturbing him, it only felt like home. He cleared his throat after the silence he had endured and spoke. “I can bring you my skills as a warrior and a hunter. I have lived on my own long enough to have learned how to hunt down prey easy in the winter time. Obviously it will be a little easier with a larger group to take down bigger prey but I think my skills will suffice. I won’t be eliminated that easily.” He said and lifted his head up, his ears pricked forward silently. “I have fought with rogues in the past, and for that they have grown. I am quick and slightly bulky which makes me a dangerous competitor to prey and other wolves.” He said, no pride in his voice only soft bitterness. He had no pride for his skills, he only pushed himself to be the best so he wouldn’t be killed by the least. “I offer up my skills as a fighter to the pack, and also a livid hunter when not busy with other duties.” He added on, no emotion in his voice as he spoke to her. He kept eye contact throughout his speaking but when he was done his eyes followed other things waiting for her to reply.
