Being placed into the rank of Scout thrilled Esmé, it was an honor to be able to do the tasks that she had been granted. She was able to cross over borders without hesitation, and if she were to hear anything she could easily cross back over. Being small in size, Esmé often found her way going into one territory and out the other without  making much noise. She had been granted the technique of stealth, something that had come naturally to her small body. Although her sisters, Quinn and Lark, were much smaller she could still pull of being small and quaint. The silver and grey fae moved through the long grass, it overlapping where the border rested between Agavos and Erenyx. Summer had left, leaving behind whisps of warmth and fading green grass. The long grass that tickled Esmé's sides were still green but only at the very tips.

It was still holding onto life, which could have been an inspiring moment if Esmé had truly thought about it. However, she was not here to admire the beauty of Autumn, no she was here to pass over the border and into dangerous territory. After Erenyx, her next mission was Helidos. She had to be light on her paws, and  keep wary. Erenyx wolves were said to be quite stealthy, but she was better. The beautiful fae breathed in, the scents of Agavos and Erenyx intermingling giving her a strange taste among her pallet. Once she had let out the breath of air, she stepped over the border.

Her white and grey fur danced in the wind as she stepped over the border into Erenyx territory. All her life, she had been taught that borders were sacred, and to cross them meant war, or death. In her situation, it meant information. The concept of crossing the border still hadn't hit her yet, and even now she felt a little rebellious. She almost felt like a pup leaving the camp for the first time on her own. Drawing in another breath she confidently began to move through the territory sticking to the dark vegetation and making sure to place her paws in the right areas. She was silent, her golden eyes ever searching for a place she could crouch and watch. As she drew further into the territory the scent of Erenyx became stronger.

Her stomach twisted and she narrowed her eyes as she finally found a place where she could sit down-wind and watch. It was on a small slope, looking down upon a small clearing. The place she had found was covered in shrubbery and today, the wind was on her side. She had an easy escape backwards if she needed to, and with her luck no wolf would have known she was there. The beautiful fae, pressed herself down onto the rock, and looked through the shrubbery her ears erect and her eyes watching. She needed to get some good information, if something was about to go down she needed to know. Patience was key.

Autumn had finally moved in, brushing away Summer as if it was nothing more than a pesky fly. The leaves had made a dramatic change from green to magnificent reds, browns and goldens. Beneath her paws the springy grass was already gaining a leafy carpet and some of the higher branches that got the worst of the winds had very little leaves holding on bravely. It was going to be a long Winter if Autumn had already began to make itself this much at home in such early months. However today itself was rather nice, clear skies but with a cool breeze that kept her refreshed. The small Guardian moved at a calm and leisurely pace, bright hazel gaze flicking from side to side and ears perked high atop her head. The border patrols were by far her favorite job, in fact she actually found herself enjoying him. It was nice to escape the confinement of the pack and get to walk around the territory's large perimeter by herself. She tended to swap jobs with others as much as possible and they were usually more than happy to give away their over an hour border patrol for a quick two minute job and despite the aching muscles she was burdened with if she completed the task too many times in the one day, she had a much clearer mind and Tundra would choose physical pain over mental pain any day. Most wouldn't but then again, most didn't have a mind as battered and destroyed as Tundra's. And it had been getting worse, she had learned to keep herself locked away and focus on nothing but completing her tasks as a Warrior but she'd fallen for the brute Samael and now his absence left her balancing on a very thin line with a deep, bottomless drop on either side. Swallowing, she pushed herself on quicker despite the protestant burn given in return from sore and tired muscles. From any observers view, Tundra looked like a very composed wolf- looked like she simply did not care and had everything in control and a year ago that might've been true but recently the fae had become a complete wreck, falling apart inside. Her acting skills just left it impossible to tell. Only two wolves had even the slightest idea of what was going on in the dark mind of hers and that was Samael and Malachai, and even they knew very, very little.

A breeze tugged at her fur and Tundra came to a gentle stop as she stretched out her neck, letting the air pull through the thick, creamy fur and listened to the birds chirping away and other wildlife scurrying about as they got about their own lives. And there it was, once she opened her eyes she was confronted with the sight of another passing right over the borders from Agavos and into Erenyx's territories. Tundra blinked and watched quietly, very impressive. She had not heard or scented this trespasser and it had only been luck that she had opened her eyes and looked in that direction when she had. 'If she's some sort of a spy she's quite a good one...' she commented silently. But what could Desmond want with Erenyx? She supposed knowledge was always power, why would he not want to know more about his neighbors that had gained themselves the 'evil' title?

However she kept completely silent and did not go out and confront this small wolf but instead simply watched from a distance. She was mostly hidden away by trunks and other vegetation that grew thickly together in this particular area. So despite not doing anything to give away her position, she was also doing nothing to hide herself either. If the wolf did not look this way then she would have no idea that Tundra was there (unlike before, the wind was now blowing towards Tundra so that her scent was being carried away while the intruder's was being carried towards her and yes that was definitely Agavos) but if she decided to glance in this particular direction then it would be hard to miss the white pelt hiding amongst the green to brown vegetation around her. The wolf had settled herself somewhere and was simply observing so it was likely that her gaze would soon find Tundra's staring right back at her and then things would get interesting but for now she would play at this waiting game too and see how things went.

(This is going to be much shorter, because of this computer I lost three hours of work. Sorry Tundra.)

Esmé had been noticed, and not in the way that she had wanted to. She didn't want to be noticed at all but some things she couldn't help. The silver and white fae had just settled down and was looking through the lands of Erenyx when she caught the honey colored eyes of Tundra. Esmé was cursing herself, how had she not seen the wolf before now? She had been seen, and being noticed was something Esmé was not happy about. Standing on her small paws, she wondered just how to make it away safely. She felt like prey having been caught like this, but she would not run away tail tucked like another. She would stand her ground until she needed to go. If she had to fight that would be the cost of it. Glancing around Tundra she didn't notice any other figures besides her, but she knew that Erenyx was sneaky. Erenyx was the 'evil' pack after all. However, if they were to make themselves known they would have done so like Tundra had. The small fae had gotten off the ground, now standing. The vegitation still hiding her but her level of sight had been changed. She still saw no others, which was a good sign for her. She didn't expect to be caught by the larger fae, Esmé was much faster. Her first mission was a fail, no information, and to be seen. The wolves of Erenyx would know her face, but that did not bother her. She would get her information one way or another, but not today. She was trying to decide what her best motive was to escape, turn tail and run or wait to see what Tundra would do. Her body was stiff, her fur on end as she waited. All of her senses were alert, waiting.

(I'm so sorry about how crappy this is. I had almost five paragraphs done and then my hand touched the mousepad while it was hovering over malachi, and it clicked it three times, on this tab and two others. So i lost everything. I'm sorry.)

[I'm so so sorry for how late this is.]

It hadn't taken Tundra long to realize that she needed to catch this fae. It was not any sort of kindness that had made her consider letting it slip away, no, Tundra didn't give a damn if it got torn apart to be bluntly honest but she didn't want to help Teren in anyway. She wouldn't mind this wolf figuring out his secrets and letting Agavos know if that's what she was here for, and Tundra was pretty sure she was right with those assumptions. But she could not risk someone seeing her let it go, she had to make sure Teren believed that she was loyal to him and this was the perfect way. Her emotionless gaze held no guilt or caring as she decided that she would turn the fae into Teren, it was what had to be done to survive. The silver wolf shouldn't have let herself get caught in the first place. She stayed still and silent, small smile gracing her features as the little wolf finally noticed she had been caught. It would probably have been easier to remain hidden until she was closer but the mistake had been made and she would just have to make it work this way. Unlike this wolf, she knew these territories like the back of her paw- she'd think of something.  The smaller wolf moved and Tundra's muscles tensed beneath her creamy fur- ready to push her forward should the smaller wolf try and move away yet it remained still afterwards. The border was behind it and quite a good bit behind it so for it to flee she'd have to have her back to Tundra which was always difficult for a wolf since instincts usually screamed not to do that. Anyway, she didn't seem like the type to flee- even from here something about the way she stood seemed slightly defiant although it was hard to tell.

Shifting her position in the damp grass, Tundra would tilt her head to the side. Hazel gaze cunning and mysterious. The wolf was smaller, so possibly faster but Tundra definitely wasn't big so her body wasn't much heavier but she was built with more muscle which made her stronger so she could propel herself forward better...it was hard to tell who held the upper paw in this right now. If Tundra got close enough for a full on fight then she knew it was her that would likely win, from here she could tell this wolf was nimble and built for speed. But Tundra was quick too, maybe not as quick but she could use her strength to aid her. Moments ticked by as she stood there, calculating gaze unwavering as it rested on the Agavos fae. Finally she made her move, it was one small pawstep- her actions slow and calm as she pulled herself from the thick vegetation so that she was now fully visible. She then made it evident that she was going no further and even went as far as to lean back on her haunches. She needed to try and keep this wolf as calm as possible, she didn't want to frighten it away. The whole forest surrounding them seemed to be holding its breath, the only sounds being the occasional eerie whistle of the winds as it tugged more leaves from the branches and sent them twirling to the ground.

Finally, Tundra broke the silence- her voice empty and sharp in the cool air. "So, an Agavos wolf in Erenyx territory eh? Not what you see every day but I'm not here to judge. Although...as Guardian of this pack I cannot really allow this, my alpha would not be very happy." As she spoke she had finally reached her paws and had began edging forward very, very slowly in hopes of it not being too noticeable. She didn't want to scare the wolf away. "You know there are a whole lot of wolves in this pack yes? I wasn't even one of the border patrols, I just happened to be here. And given the time of day" She would glance up at the sky, thankfully there were only a few clouds, letting the weak sun still be visible. Glancing back down at her company, she continued to speak. "Yup, if you turn now you risk bumping into the whole patrol and believe me, you'd stand a much better chance against me alone then you would against them. And if you try to run in an opposite direction you risk running right into the heart of Erenyx, and that wouldn't end well for you." If her movements had been subtle enough and if the other smaller wolf hadn't moved back too much, Tundra would now be as bit closer, the distance between them still being too large to cover in one leap but it was progress. "I offer you a fair fight little wolf, I won't call for any help." She smiled "But if you try to run I will alert every wolf nearby of your presence and it's highly unlikely you'll reach that border" Of course she was lying about the first thing, she wouldn't call for help but if the small wolf showed any signs of winning and getting away she'd alert someone. But this was impossible to tell in the empty eyes that rested on the small fae- it was the spy's best chance. She was alert and ready, gaze narrowed and muscles tensed beneath her thick pelt. In fact, she was almost excited. She needed a fight, craved it. She wanted to attack, bite, feel the adrenaline pump through her body as the metallic tang filled her mouth. Shifting her position slightly, Tundra remained poised and ready as she awaited the Agavos intruder's next move.

[This is not a very good post and I apologize, I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer. I encourage you to pick the first option and just have her and Tundra fight it out so we can get her captured quicker so I will not end up keeping you waiting too much longer.]

(Yes, the latter sounds more appealing XD Just to get it done and over with in the least. I also assume in the way I wrote where Esme was that was a bit higher up than Tundra, so I figure a leap off to attack her would work best. She isn't high off the ground but high enough to launch attack. Hopefully you don't mind ;-;)

There was a tension in the air, a wolf could easily sense from any distance away. It could only be broken by movement, and it was movement that Esmé did not want to make. She didn't want to run, but she also felt like she wouldn't have choice. To her, the quickest way out would be to go behind her, but that would give the pretty white wolf below an easy advantage. The small fae could feel Tundra's dark hazel eyes upon her, perhaps calculating her. While Esmé was smaller, Tundra was larger and therefore stronger. She had the advantage of sprinting away but as she thought about her options, the cold tone of the wolf below her slithered over her like ice.

Esmé was silent, her muscles tense as she listened to her words. A sneer curled her lips, showing her fangs slightly at her first words. She gave no care in the world what he alpha would feel, she wanted information. It wouldn't be a time to care, unless she was captured. Her golden gaze sharped as she watched Tundra move very...very slowly towards her. It wasn't something she had noticed but gradually she could see the white wolf moving as she spoke. It made her tense up, but she did not move. If she got any closer, it would be easy for her to leap down and attack her in hopes of injuring her and getting away.

Ears flicking, the silver and white fae narrowed her eyes down at Tundra. A patrol? There were warning bells going off in the back of her mind, especially when she said if she ran the opposite way she would be running towards Erenyx not away. The fur on her neck began to stand as she thought. She could easily be lying, I know how I got here that much is true. I could easily follow my way back, but it would cost me having to go around her. Her eyes flicking from Tundra to behind her and then back to her again. Is there really a patrol? She could be manipulative..who knows..she is part of Erenyx. But there is something about her that makes her seem..off. What is that? She was thinking to herself, her keen gaze following Tundra watching her, listening to her. There was a scent drifting off her and as the breeze gently rocked the trees, it came to her. Hmm..

Flicking her tail, in irritation she listened to her last words. Her ears perked up a bit at them. "A fight you say?" This was the first she had spoken since taking on the position in the brush on the small cliff like structure. "To be honest, I wouldn't have much of a choice..would i?" She growled softly, before making the decision. The snowy white wolf below her had inched close enough that she could bear down from the brush and land on her. It was a risky move, but it could give her an advantage. All thoughts of running her left her, if she could injury her, she could get away. Taking a step forward the brush parting, she took the few steps forward her muscles bunching as she leaped down the small incline towards Tundra, knowing her angles to at least land on her.
