Death doesn’t discriminate
Between the sinners and the saints

The sky was filled with a beautiful array of orange, yellow, and purple colors as the almost unbearable sun was beginning to sink underneath the waves. A flock of gulls squawked as they flew against the serene backdrop, and a few flew down to the shore to pick at some of the ocean creatures that had been washed ashore. For now the temperature had dropped a bit, and as the dazzling fading light flickered in Achak's eyes he could feel his paws sink comfortably in the muddy sand on the shore. The coolness soothed his cracked pads, and he breathed softly in and out. The last time he had been on a beach had been with Azul; of course, this was not the same place. It was unfortunate that the mysterious shards would not be making an appearance here upon night time - the apprentice was curious about finding out more about the strange blue lights. However, this part of Agavos territory, named Poseidon's Ring, was not without mystery. There had been gossip muttered about the possibility of a ghost wolf. Some said that the loud, mournful howl could be heard when the time is right letting the visitors of the spirit's beach know the sorrow. Others have simply scoffed at the old story saying it was merely the wind blowing through the large tunnel through one of the cliffs.

The story rose questions within the young one's heart. Miss Twist had said that she believed the dead went to another place where they could watch the living. Achak had hoped that she was right; however, what if some were stuck here? What if they could not let go of the world? At first his paws were hesitant to set foot within the large tunnel. Far above was the Poseidon's Ring large cliff and from the ceiling dripped little bits of water. The other side of the tunnel didn't look too far - in fact he could see some more gulls feasting on a large meal they had caught over there. Taking in a deep breath Achak stepped quietly into the shadow of the cliff and looked at each crevice as he passed by slowly. A few dribbles of water dripped on his back, but the water was cool and offered nothing but a surprise. Halfway through the tunnel, though, rose a sea breeze. Flicks of his hair swirled with the draft, and, while he was distracted by the nice summer wind, a loud noise arose seemingly all around him. It started out small before growing in pitch and holding its howl before seemingly fading into nothing. Achak's limbs froze - the howl of the ghost wolf. Charging forward through to the other side of the beach the apprentice flew forward at great speed and threw himself into the shallow water. He didn't look back until he was panting and looking at the old cliff with both fear and curiosity.

Actions. Thoughts. "Speech."

Sorry it took so long©

NOTES: Sorry for the delay!
THANKS TO DESOTO FOR THE IMAGE ON THIS TABLE!!

She walks. "She talks." She thinks.

It seemed like the summer would scorch everything this year, much to the grey female’s dismay. The flowers, grass, and other vegetation withered beneath the sun’s harsh light. The greenery was turning a sickly shade of yellow which crunched under her paws as she moved over the land. The arid air gave her no satisfaction, although she had recently had a very long drink. The Elite was particularly concerned about the health and well being of her packmates. It was of utmost importance that each wolf stayed hydrated. Back in her natal pack, Breeze had seen her brother treat wolves with sun poisoning and dehydration. The threat of predators was also obvious. Such intense heat was sure to lure any parched beast to the remaining water sources, including those within Agavos. Keeping these things in mind, the fae had been out and about to check on her packmates, as well as the borders. It was exhausting, but she made sure to drink lots of water. She kept her mind and body busy instead of dwelling on her thoughts. Today she had already done her border patrols and had decided to explore a bit. The physical exhaustion kept the dreams at bay, and that’s what she wanted. The images lurked in the corners of her mind like shadows dancing just beyond the light of a fire, waiting to creep back at the first opportunity. The previous night had been rather peaceful, which was a relief. It seemed that currently her paws were leading her towards the beach.

Had she not been satisfied with her own water intake shortly before, it would be doubtful that she would venture out onto the sand. The little grains of rock almost unbearably hot, so Breeze quickened her pace. She trotted along the narrow stretch of beach towards the little cave-like tunnel in the cliff. There were seagulls which had gathered around some sort of carrion. Perhaps she could get something out of that, but she didn’t want to scare away all of the birds. A slight gust of ocean wind prompted her to narrow her eyes. The last time she had been on a beach on a windy day, she had quickly learned that it could kick up sand into a wolf’s eyes. For a second she shut her eyes, ears flat against her skull as the sand buffeted her pelt. An eerie howl arise from the tunnel ahead as the wind got stronger, then faded as the breeze slowed. Her eyes opened and fixed upon a smaller form that dashed out of the tunnel, clearly fearful and surprised. The Elite watched with slight amusement as the gulls scattered, squawking and taking to the skies as the young male ran into the shallows of the ocean. The grey she-wolf approached him with a small smile. It must have been the howling of the wind which had startled him. “Are you alright?” She asked, wading slowly into the water in front of the brute. He was one of the pups that had attended the meeting. new, but not fro Erenyx if she remembered correctly. For a few moments she looked the young wolf over, studying him while trying to recall a name. Finally she nodded to herself. “Your name is Achak, yes? I’m Breeze.” She said, her body relaxed and her posture casual. The word picked up again, causing the whistling howl to emanate from the cliff. The female turned a bit so her body was angled slightly towards Poseidon’s Ring. Amber orbs drifted over to watch the tunnel as the noise faded. She motioned to it with a raise of her muzzle. “It’s an odd place isn’t it?”
