A small multicolored wolf trudged weakly through the snow, each step sending a rough twinge of pain through the wolf's body, her face twitching ever so slightly in pain with each step. The fae was a young wolf, just over 2 years old. Her build was slender, lean, and yet fit, the only thing covering her toned muscles was the thick layer of fur over her body, the kind found only in the far north. As the small fae pushed herself forward further she lowered her head to the ground again, inhaling several short breaths to catch the scent again before letting out another soft sigh "Just a little further....You will be there soon." she reminded herself aloud, lifting her front paw to look at the bottom, noticing several small cracks from use, the fae turning back quickly to look at her paw prints in the shallow snow, noticing the small red tint of each step, her paws bleeding ever so slightly from the mix of travel ware and frostbite.

The long trek had taken it's tolls on the fae in more ways than just her paws. The small fae's travel had kept her from anywhere unclaimed to hunt, and now that it had been nearly a week since her last meal, if she could call that small excuse of a rabbit a meal, her energy levels were far too low to attempt to hunt on her own. This had a chain effect on her overall condition, with the reduction in her calorie intake, the fae's naturally high metabolism were starting to slow, making it harder for her to keep her body temperature up, especially in the prolonged exposure each day to the wind and snow, the constant dampness of her fur, and the many many night spent sleeping in a shallow hole in the snow, hypothermia was beginning to set in, leaving the wolf's mind in a light daze, occasionally stumbling as a paw gave out from the pain, or her mind losing focus on even some simpler things like where she was going, or why she was even out here.

After what felt like an eternity to the young fae, she would finally snap from her dazed out gaze again, remembering what she was doing the fae would lower her head, sniffing at the ground for the border of the territory she had heard of. As the wolf's nose twitched the fae would lift her head quickly, her ears perking as a smile crossed her face in the first time since her pack dissolved around her, and with that, the fae would tilt her head back, throwing a loud howl into the air, letting her song hold for several long seconds, after ending her cry to the evening sky the small fae would walk over to a small cluster of trees and sit, lifting her paw from the snow to let it warm up while she awaited a response, hoping it was quick, before the elements or starvation got to her first.

With winter now in full swing Marrok's busy life turned busier as prey became harder to find. Hunkered down under bushes or having migrated south deer and small game proved a endless chore of catching for the Beta. Providing for his pack was hard enough, but the male enjoyed surprising Juno with a hare now and then for her meal without being asked. His pups also enjoyed playing with squirrels tails in their odd games, though as they grew the gams became fewer and fewer. It seemed like only yesterday they were tiny bundles of innocence at his paws, looking up to him like an idol, where did those times go?

This morning the Beta had journeyed to the western border, seeking tracks of deer to determine where one of the herds had gone. In his travels a small weak howl alerted him to a new wolf in the area, perking his head the large male settled into a lope and covered ground quickly. Coming into a large expanse of a field the snow started to pick up, its whipping stung his eyes and made him squint against the frozen daggers in attempt to see the new wolf. Almost missing her Marrok suddenly saw her tiny form in the falling snow and barked out at her.

Trotting up to her Marrok stopped short and looked her over. She seemed weak from her long journey and smelled of hunger and desperation. Letting some of his mightiness down he gave a warm smile to the new comer. "Hello there miss I am Beta Marrok and these lands are Helidos under the rules of Alpha Azul and Alphess Lucy. Who are you and why have you come here?" His voice rang warm yet still held his air of authority to the she wolf. Highly doubting she'd try anything Marrok let his guard down slightly to put her at ease around him, for her condition worried him slightly. "When's the last time you've eaten miss?" He asked before she could answer, curious as to how far gone she was.

Katyusha would carefully press her form back against the tree as the wind picked up, the lashing of the snow floating in the air, and the nipping wind almost reminding her of home, but more importantly reminding her she had nowhere to sleep tonight if this didn't work. Slowly the fae would stand and position herself with the tree between her and the wind, sitting down as close to it's base as she could while avoiding the roots to use it as a sort of block. This however, would only last a few short moments before a loud bark would startle the fae back, her ears perking and her head turning quickly to the male that had come to greet her, or chase her off.

As the brute approached the small fae would stand, her form still appearing strong despite her rather rough appearance, her head giving a soft bow to him, her ears pinned back slightly as she gave him her respect, but refused to show weakness, she was a proud wolf after all, and while she knew her place, she refused to be weak. Once the other would begin to speak, Katyusha raised her head, ears perking to give him the full attention he deserved "Thank you for coming Beta, my name is Katyusha, of the far north, and I have come to your lands to ask for permission to join your ranks." she stated simply, her voice sounding bold and to the point, yet with holding any signs of authority, she knew what she was here for, and what she needed of this pack, but she also knew what the pack would demand of her, and her survival depended on making that agreement.

While the small fae awaited his next statement, assuming he would ask her of what use she would be to the pack, or attempting in some way to belittle her, and assert his authority, the next words would catch her slightly off guard, the fae giving him a rather confused look and a moment of hesitation before answering "Slightly less than a week....I think." she answered honestly, before opening her maw again "But that isn't because of a lack in my ability....the food has grown scarce in the north....and that is why I have come here to seek asylum." she answered.

Lowering his hind to the snow Marrok listened to the willed fae speak. His first instinct was to correct her for her small misuse of dominance here when she had none to give, but the male brushed it off. Call it a weakness of the Beta to give into tiny faes, oh well. Still holding on to his authority Marrok dipped head as she spoke, taking in her intentions. She had an interesting name and it intrigued him slightly, pulling him in and not boring him like other names he had heard. Her voice rang out strong and proud, full of fight, just what he liked. "Well I greet you miss Katyusha of the north. My pack does need wolves, but how can you serve us? What traits and skills do you have that would suit you for this pack?"

Her surprise by his concern amused him as he continued to listen. "I didn't doubt your skills at hunting miss, for everyone in this weather has trouble finding prey. I myself have been out hunting all day with little to show for it, its nothing to be ashamed of. However, if you want to join us and prove yourself you need to replenish yourself and tend to your feet." He said motioning to her feet that were turning the snow a slight pink. Marrok knew little of healing, but knew enough to know that a sore footed wolf couldn't hunt properly.

Katyusha would notice his expression change slightly with her tone, the fae catching herself and lowering her head again "Forgive me sir if I offend, it is not my intention to portray authority in a land I posses none." she said, trying to keep a steady voice "I simply wish to express my personal condition, and show I'm not some pup sniveling to you for mercy." she explained. Going silent once more, the fae would nod her head to his question, having expected it, and knowing it was a fair point; pausing only for a second, the small wolf would reply "I hold quite a few useful skills sir, I am a very talented hunter in these cold conditions, having spent the largest part of my life in them, and I am more than capable of defending myself in combat, although with my size I doubt my techniques are the same you are accustomed to, if I may make that assumption." she said, once again expressing her respect to the beta.

As he went on to the fae would nod, a little smile actually coming to her lips "I would be more than happy to help you with that, if allowed sir. Once again I was trained to hunt in a land of near constant winter, it is my specialty the same as any other wolf's is the summer months, I was unable to hunt because of my journey, and fear of venturing into other wolf's territories on unfamiliar terrain." she explained.

As the beta mentioned her paws, the small wolf could be seen looking down at her paws, the expression on her face allowing him to see how much they pained her, as the small fae nodded again "Yes of course beta, they are nothing a few days of rest and a dry place to sleep won't fix...With the winter coming in, I couldn't risk slowing down to allow them to heal, any longer out there I may have been trapped in a snow storm without food or shelter." she said honestly, hoping he would understand her condition came mostly from the brutal trip she had put herself through, and were nothing of great concern, at least not to her.

Marrok listened to her words and nodded his head accordingly. She seemed truthful and someone he could trust as well as a good asset to the pack. "Well I'd be happy to have another fine hunter in the pack if that is your wish. All you need to do is swear your oath to me and the pack and I shall make you a member Katyusha." He said, his voice steady as he grinned at her.Others might think he was being too soft with a fae, but he saw promise in the she wolf and had a feeling it would be good to let her in.

Wrapping his tail across his large paws he waited for her answer as a light snow started to fall around the pair. They would need to find shelter soon if this turned into a storm, but they had a bit of time. His stomach then growled and reminded him he was still empty handed from hunting, but that would have to wait as well until he could get the fae back to the pack once she swore to him.

Katyusha would listen carefully as he spoke again, before an honestly playful smile would come to her lips, a look of relief noticeably spreading over her muzzle. "Huntress would be great, that is unless you're handing out Alpha position, then I'll take that." she said, hoping he would understand she was joking, in an attempt to start forming a bond with her packmate, unless he really was giving out an alpha position.

After her little joke the young fae bowed her head lightly "I swear my life in any form it may be needed to further the interests of the pack, the alphas, and you, for as long as I breath." the fae would speak softly, her ears pinning back as she awaited his answer on whether or not she was permitted to the pack, and ultimately if she had somewhere warm to wait out the incoming snow and bitter cold night.

As the snow began to drift down the fae would lift her head, nose twitching as she sniffed at the air, the little fae turning to the beta quickly "It appears there will be a decent snowfall tonight...It is a fairly far off still." she spoke softly, her ability to tell what the winter weather was doing had saved her life more than once, and would probably do so again in the future.

Chuckling lightly at her apparent joke the brute's smile grew. "No unfortunately Azul and Lucy hold those positions, and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. But, with your oath and promise I'm happy to award you the rank of hunter. You shall hunt for the pack and abide by the laws put in place by the alphas. You are now a member of Helidos Hunter Katyusha and let me welcome you first." He said as he dipped his head to the fae.

Snow started to fall more steadily, making the brute nervous about the weather. "It may happen sooner than we think hunter, come I shall bring you to the clearing and show you to our healers for your feet. Come, and see your new home." He said as he started towards the pack clearing, his new pack mate in tow.

ooc-You can now change your name to Hunter Katyusha. No need to reply to this post.
