Snow and the Border Empty
PostSubject: Snow and the Border Snow and the Border Icon_minitimeNovember 10th 2013, 20:55

Snow padded as softly as she could, hoping she was close to the border by now. For a while now she had been looking for a pack, but not a weak pack. A pack that wouldn't mind, or better yet, accept her violent tendencies. The pains of her family's deaths stung her heart, but she pushed it aside as always. She just had to keep going, after so far she needed to do something with her life. She stopped, smelling the border. She had made it, finally. With a sigh she sat down, watching out into the woods, debating on if it was a good idea. She sighed, to come this far and not join would be stupid. She let out a howl, hopefully alerting the pack that she was here. Now all she had to do was wait. Snow patiently sat, waiting to see if anyone had heard her, and if they would even come. If worse came to worse, Snow could just leave, but until the pack showed up, she was on edge. The slightest sound made her jump, and although she tried to relax, she didn't let her guard down, ever.

Humming in blissful silence, Ammolite enjoyed a soft tune while observing the land beneath. Hadn't it been for a loner's howl, she may have stayed there forever, but duties called, like always. Her mother had been somewhat off as of late and taking the loner acceptances upon herself, the she-wolf now found herself molding into a worthy heir. But, for now, she wouldn't let anything to get her head. Ammolite had to be tactical and realistic after all. Descending from Satan's Edge, the wind gave off an eerie feeling, the chiming of the surrounding trees like shackles of beasts from Hell. To Esmeralda, that resemblance may have been mostly pleasing but Ammolite still had to engulf herself in such wicked ventures.

The border was dead...literally. Bones from the deceased littered the occasional patch of crumbling ground, skulls and femurs showing the harsh impact they had to suffer before death took their precious souls to a better, or perhaps worse, place. Allowing her nose to lead her in the right path, Ammolite's posture gradually became indubitably dominant upon entrance. Muscles tight from possible nerves, the aura of the unknown female was an uncertain one. "Who are you?" Ammolite asked the sitting wolf.

Snow looked up at the new wolf. Was this the alpha? She thought to herself. She looked a little young to be an Alpha.
"Hello. I am Snow." She replied, looking around before continuing. "Are you the Alpha of this pack? I have travel long to get here, I am looking to join the Erenyx pack. I have heard much about it, after all." Snow paused, straining her ears to make sure she was alone. She then relaxed a little whens he couldn't hear or see anyone.
"By the way, shouldn't someone clean the bones up a little? It's a little dangerous, one could get infected if one of these were to go into a wolf's pelt of pad, which wouldn't be good." Snow paused, still sitting, and decided she had said enough. Now she would just wait for this wolf to answer her.

"My name is Ammolite, I am the daughter of the Alphas. I speak upon the behalf of my pack when I say we are pleased to hear you've been informed of our great status." A healer's background? "Perhaps, but only the whole carcasses or those bones with flesh still upon them truly could cause any harm. The bare bones are free of worry, they should be deposed of by the hungry rodents in the area. Many do not venture here unless necessary anyway." Pausing for an equal amount of time given, Ammolite observed the adult wolf in unsettling silence. Before a reply may have been given, Ammolite's reply intervened, a sudden thought upon her mind. "You desire the healer position, do you not?" Ammolite inquired.

Snow looked at the pup before her. I knew she was too young to be an Alpha, but a daughter of the Alphas made sense. She had figured out Snow wouldn't mind being a healer, it was a natural gift for her.
"Yes, Ammolite, I would like to be a healer, if I can be one. If there is no room for a new healer, I will be willing to take whatever is available." Snow said, trying to keep a calm and controlled appearance. In reality she was thrilled at the fact she won't have to be alone anymore. Loneliness could be handled, sometimes Snow loved being alone, but being part of a pack was even better, most of the times. She pushed the sadness of her past behind her, locking it away in her heart. Life was cruel, she just had to live with it. Snow kept her attention on the pup, waiting for her response. The only thing Snow could do now was wait and hope. If worst comes to worst, I can run faster then a pup. She thought sadly.

That oh-so familiar gaze fell upon Ammolite once more, earning a hidden, displeased scowl. Once her younger age had been discovered, the female's gaze was now mixed with less respect, the empty section replaced with that juvenile judgement the Erenyx she-wolf had grown used to. "I am not a pup anymore," she said simply before returning to the matter at hand, "There is room in our pack for a healer. Our leader healer is the great Kiv and, recently, we acquired another she-wolf under his direction. Depending on your own skills, you will either join his team or be deemed an apprentice of either one of them to improve. I will leave which you prefer up to you though."

The tranquil appearance before her was fragile, Ammolite not entirely sure if it was authentic or not. "Tell me some of your past, Snow," Ammolite commented suddenly, "perhaps I can help you decide."

Snow heard the wolf tell her to speak of her past. The words echoed in her ears, her past. 'Tell me some of your past Snow.' The words rang in her ears. Those memories were to be cherished and hated in secret. Snow stiffened, trying to channel her inner anger and not attack the wolf before her. It had been easy before, but now she had tried to rid dome of the kill-at-first-sight instinct.
"My past is none of your concern. It is the past, it doesn't matter. Not to you, not to anyone. I have no reason to look back on the past unless it is my own doing. I will not tell you much of it, a little, however seeing as you are the Alphas daughter." Snow took a deep breath in before continuing.
"My parents died, my siblings died, I took revenge. That is all you need to know." Snow said, desperately hoping the pup wouldn't bug her further. She spent too much time thinking about her dark past, or dreaming of when it was good. She didn't need someone else to tell her that what she did was right or wrong. Life was cruel, life left her for dead. But no one else need to know.

A fire began to brew, crackling, hissing within. It shined within emerald-hued eyes, the light from above which flooded into them giving off a faint orange glow to show its arrival. The apprentice's voice changed from her previous tone, the current one more direct and dominant, tired of playing games. "Though I may be young in your ignorant eyes, I am not without ability. I have the strength to inflict damage upon you, even if my efforts may earn me an injury of equal value. You are also foolish to believe I'd be out here without some plan of action. The pack is near, the Alphas moreover, whom will strip you of your hide and embed the needed discipline into your hide." Nearing her, Ammolite had yet to snarl or show any other sign of anger, her eyes enough to get the message across. "Your past is my concern. It matters to me, it matters to everyone. My mother, the Alphess, would put even more pressure upon this fact. She, as I do now, would demand every thought and action of their murder. Every blood spatter, submissive plea and dying howl. If you are to weak to relive you brilliant efforts, killing urges we encourage and pride in, then perhaps you should simply die now." Ammolite knew this she-wolf was one to bury in her feelings, to hide within the shadows and shutter from her past actions. But, as she had witnessed from Esmeralda, in Erenyx, wolves cherished their Hellish side. They either had to face and embrace it or be forced to suffer until that awaited day.

Snow looked at the pup. Strong words for one so little. She thought, but held her tongue, it was obvious that the pup had a very short temper. Snow sighed, the past was something she didn't like, but apparently would come out.
"Fine, I'll tell you, but you might as well get comfortable, it's long." Snow began, remembering her childhood, when it was happier. "I was born with two sisters and a brother, our pack was a family pack, and three older brothers had stayed behind to help raise us. It was easy, I learned how to hunt, and the basics of herbs from my parents." She felt a sharp pain in her heart remembering them. "When were a year old, my sisters and brother left, but I stayed behind. The next year I learned more herbs, hunting and fighting, and raised the new pups. They constantly pounced on my tail, giving me a few scars, but they were worth it. They also left once they were a year, and five new pups were born, but it didn't stay happy." Snow felt the bitter emotions rise in her. "Spring was too late, my parents couldn't hunt without freezing or being spotted in the blizzards, so I and my brother had to hunt for all of us. It was in vain, however, two died of starvation within the first few weeks. Two others died because they caught a cold, and we had nothing to save them, our supplies were already used up. it only got worse when a grizzly bear killed my mother and the last pup. My brothers and I killed it, but it was too late. My father was paralyzed from the waist down, but none of us had the heart to kill him or banish him yet. then they came." Snow growled, hate welling up inside her. "A pack killed my father for sick fun, and I killed their Alpha's and ran before the pack could save them. They never knew I was coming. It wasn't fair, the fight, I killed the male by breaking his back when I jumped on hi, and before the pack or his mate knew what was happening I slit the female's throat. I ran away, and they didn't find me. I slowly killed the pack in their sleep, night after night, and they all died. I poisoned them, and attacked unfairly, but I didn't, well don't care, they died. My three brothers were starving and near death when they found me. They tried to kill me, thinking it was for the better. I was well feed and rested, they could hardly even fight, soon they were all dead. So I left, and somehow ended up here." Snow finished, and waited to see the pup's reaction.

Tail upon ebony paws, there was nothing but eerie silence as the past was retold. Before her eyes, a ghostly replay went fourth, Ammolite's mind creating the hallucinations for her own pleasure. Death, hardships, love, happiness, murder. A tale with every joyful bit. Merely blinking, Ammolite gave no response even when one could have intervened. A family pack fallen to a greater group. Despite their packs' death, the enemies had managed to reap all from this female; her loved ones and her very lifestyle. Snow's enemies were weak and incompetent yet were, in some way, in the right mind. Should the offending pack been Erenyx, we would have done the same. Family packs are just wastes, diminishing our precious resources. And we too would have taken some fun from the encounter, that is the best way, yes? Ammolite scoffed briefly, shaking her head as Snow recalled the Alphas' murder. They must have been foolish rulers. Alphas unable to protect themselves, members unable to detect her and her vicious, underlying ways of murder. "It sounds like quite the ordeal." Ammolite finally commented, expression neutral. "Well," brief pause, "the day will end soon. Come, Healer Snow."

(You don't hafta reply, I'll leave this open for a day then lock things :3 Welcome to Erenyx!)
