Hello all!
Here is a lovely thread where anyone and everyone from Helidos can join. It's completely open. Let's all be awesome friends and have some fun here!
The order is as follows and will be updated whenever someone joins: Delta Nnlya, Apprentice Apollo, Apprentice Lucas, Apprentice Ryland
P.s. This post takes place in relation to pack events, right on the season change and after Auroras thread.

The newly appointed Delta had been eager to prove herself worthy of her new title. Every day she rose early and patrolled the borders. Then she ran to increase her endurance. Pulled, rolled and tumbled heavy logs up hills and over long distances to improve her strength. Practiced fighting techniques to perfection. Hunted what prey she could in her time. Trained her new friends Warrior Yiska and Hunter Altair. And each evening she patrolled the borders once more. Sometimes she visited the Lead Hunter Eclipse, offering her time for him to practice his newly acquired fighting skills and offering to aid with his new-born young. She had only recently offered her congratulations to Elite Aurora on the birth of her pups and hoped that Guardian Fel would permit her to offer her own congratulations and meet the young ones for herself when they were old enough.

Nnlya loved pups. She held a special soft spot for them. To her they were the future of the pack and she would protect that future with her life. But more than that, they were pure innocence incarnate. They were so new, so pure, so wonderful, that she wanted nothing more than for them to experience the best puphood one could have. One full of adventure and laughter and play just as she had experienced. Alongside their training as apprentices of course. She was sure these pups would make wonderful healers, caretakers, warriors, hunters  and huntresses in their own right as they had the best teachers available. She would never dare to boast of her own prowess but her counterpart, Delta Drogo, was an exceptional fighter. She was accomplished enough in her own battles, both mental and physical, and had been proud to have been sought out for training by Eclipse, Yiska and Altair. But her modest nature would not allow her to stand up and say I'm the best. And she was fine with that. She was content to serve her pack to the best of her ability, and then step back and allow others to have their moment of glory. If someone should congratulate her on her efforts or reward her for her achievements, she would graciously accept with a smile and a small thank you and return to her place. It was her way.

On this particular day, Nnlya was running, training herself in speed rather than endurance. She ran through the forest, past the trees she knew so well and burst into the Amor Glade. As she did, she closed her eyes and sighed in bliss, inhaling the wonderful scents of the wildflowers and long grass that now surrounded her. She began to feel the familiar, tingling burn in her legs that meant fatigue. She held her speed, forcing herself through the pain. Then, just when it seemed bearable, she surged forth, running faster than she ever had before. She was quick in battle, her final exam with Eclipse showed that, but to sprint like this she had to work hard. And it payed off as she crossed the distance in no time at all. She pulled up and stopped a moment, her chest heaving as she gasped for air. The rush of running so fast was what she imagined flying to be like. It gave her a thrill to move so fast.

When her heart and slowed its erratic beat, she took off for the pack clearing and once more she sent herself into a frenzy. Her paws barely touched the ground as she effortlessly weaved between the trees. Ahead loomed a fallen log and she grinned as she relished the challenge. Her paws gathered together and her muscled bunched as she hauled herself into the air and leapt cleanly over the log. Truly this was what it felt like to fly. As she soared through the air, the fae closed her eyes and laughed with glee. She felt freer and happier than she had ever felt. It soon came to be that the pack clearing was upon her and she dug her heels in, sliding to a halt. Her head instantly snapped up and she stood straight, feeling the tips of her fur light in the afternoon sun. To an onlooker she might be considered strong or heroic or even beautiful. But to her it was simply a manner of surveying the clearing. She heaved a sigh and set her usual welcoming smile on her face and padded over to an old tree with gnarled roots. In its shade the Delta sat and rested after her strenuous activity, wondering if any wolf might approach and add a sprinkle of variety to her day.

Entering the new year as a one year old, Lucas was feeling stronger in his body. His mind was set on the future, with hopes of taking his father's position, he wished to be an Alpha. In his mind he had all the aspects an Alpha needed, everything Azul had, but more. Unlike his father, Lucas found importance in asserting himself and showing he was a strong wolf. He may have held the title "Apprentice" but to him, he was deserving of much more. The title would stick with him until he was two years of age, only then by his father's laws, would he lose such a worthless claim on his own name. He looked much like the Alpha male, white with golden eyes, bright as the sun. His coat was thick, still carrying the plush of winter below his outer layer. His paws were still big, allowing him more growing room to be done. As he walked, he moved from the den he and his sister shared. Deimos had been gone for a long time, leaving the family to their weeping, but not Lucas. He cared little for his annoying brother, always trying to strike down his advances towards faes, and other young wolves alike. He set his eyes on the Beta's pup, Ryland. She was cute and rather small, but she still had growing to do as well. He watched her from a distance before, not sure of how she would react to being around the Alpha's pup. After all, it was a great honor to be around such magnificence. Leaving the protection of the den, he made his way around the pack clearing. His eyes stumbled upon the fae who had recently been promoted to Delta by his own father, though he did not know her. He pondered for a moment, the Elite female was having pups with Kenai, his father's most trusted adviser. The Beta female was, of course, mated. Leaving only the Delta female not to have rank. Eying over her, he puffed out his chest, trying to look like his father the day he called the pack to order. As he walked over to her, his voice was silky and tender, "greetings Delta Nnyla. You may not know who I am, but I am Lucas, son of Azul and Lucy. Might I add you are looking rather radiant on this bright morning. The sun compliments your coat quite perfectly, only adding the the sheer beauty which you yourself hold." Putting some of his best compliments together, he looked down to her as she laid there. If he were able to impress a Delta, then he would be able to get any fae he wished.

With the change of season also came a change in atmosphere and mood within the pack. Winter was now ended and so was the dull and glum feeling that hung around the camp, and new opportunities were awaiting. Opportunities of many kinds: as simple as being able to hunt prey more easily, or in the aspect of being able to achieve new goals, and indeed some mates were with pups. And as such the young fae was quite excited. A new year, a new set of responsibilities. Now as a yearling she was serving as an Apprentice Caretaker taught by Alanoth, and although she wasn't able to actually interact with pups yet she was learning the skills and necessities that accompanied her rank. Only once the pups were weaned and able to walk out of their cozy dens to explore the world would she be able to apply these skills in real life context and gain some actual experience of protecting and teaching the young. She recognised this as an important job, for if nobody was there to guide the next generation, what would become of Helidos' future? But for now she was relaxing, Alanoth was busy with his mate Fel making sure that her experience with the new lives that would soon be introduced to the pack was not too stressful. Her wise mentor had told her that sometimes female wolves could not cope with their litter and could even abandon their young, which would then die if no surrogate mother was found for them. Consequently she was more than happy to entertain herself whilst he was away tending to the new mothers, for if any of the faes were troubled it could have quite unfortunate consequences.

Yawning, the vibrantly coloured fae lifted her head from her paws and stretched out her long rear legs as she stood up on her pads. Emerald hues glittered bright once revealed to the sun's sparse yellow tendrils of warmth that filtered through the foliage of the trees. She then bowed and extended her front limbs, ridding the idle muscles of their tiredness. One glance behind her affirmed her assumption that all of her family members were asleep in the den of which she had been resting in front of. Often she now slept inside the Caretaker's Den nowadays, but she liked to be near her parents and siblings whenever possible. The only problem was that the space was getting cramped with three yearlings and two adults inside the den, and so she had often been kicked or rolled on during her sleep, and many times had resorted to sleeping outside the entrance like she had just been. With a short sigh, she set off around the camp clearing, wishing to socialise with some of her packmates.

It wasn't long before she spotted a very regal looking fae, who had come sprinting into the clearing. She gazed over the female's fine figure as she sat down under a tree from exhaustion, slightly jealous of the muscles and overall brilliance that instantly seemed to radiate off her. Ryland herself had a very feminine shape, with no great bulkiness of muscle, plus with a more smoothly curved frame. Though she had some growing left, and she was hoping that a growth spurt could make her just a bit taller like she wanted to be. This attractive fae she stared at was familiar from the pack meeting and had been promoted if she could recall correctly, something like a Delta. Moreover she was single, so it was no surprise when a male joined her so quickly. The beta pup watched as a white brute approached the female, her eyes rolling as she recognised him. It was Lucas, the Alpha's pup with a big interest in faes and an even bigger ego. An amused smirk crept onto her black lips as she walked closer, her tail flicking gently side to side as she casually strolled over. The last time she had engaged in conversation with him she was maybe six or seven months old. She couldn't deny he had become handsome like his father, and his confidence was both impressive and irritating. As she came up behind him she heard his flirtatious compliments and couldn't help but giggle quietly under her breath. Quite a charmer, isn't he? , she jested to herself. Ryland shook out her sable and grey toned pelt before sitting down a fair ways to the side of Lucas, the onyx that ran along her back standing out in the sunlight. A smile surfaced on her maw as she looked to the older wolf resting under the tree's shade "Good afternoon, miss". Then she turned her olive eyes to the pale brute, smiling wider still. "And you Lucas". This could be quite entertaining, she thought as she locked eyes with the proud male. Especially if she could tease the brute who was so self assured.

The multi-hued fae managed to settle her racing heart and slow her breathing. She knew from past experience, though that her legs were spent and would only tremble if she were to get up and continue her day. She needed to rest, move slowly and end her training for the day. Her body had to recuperate. There was a difference between pushing your limits and wrecking your body. She had to take care of herself. The consequences of attempting otherwise could be severe. No healer would have a remedy for torn muscles or other such injuries. She would become a cripple and useless to the pack. If the Alpha pitied her he would end her life himself. Otherwise she would be made Omega and would have to wait until she starved to death in the winter. It was a life she could not bear to consider having. Though she might look lazy to some, she knew that her body would thank her later when she was still strong enough for a brute to come after her and beg for her companionship, when she was still able to carry pups within her belly.

Speaking of brutes, a white one strode proudly in her direction. Chest puffed out and steps deliberate. He looked strikingly like the Alpha, but his size told her that he was indeed rather the Alphas pup. She recalled seeing him on the day of the pack meeting, sitting regally by his fathers side. Though she had not met him personally, he seemed a good young brute. One constantly trying to prove himself to be like his father and worthy of his fathers position. When he spoke his words were smooth like silk and soft. He introduced himself and complimented the Delta. She chuckled at his remarks but made no claim to accept or deny them, only took them with good humour. She thought that he would make a good young bachelor, much like the Hunter Altair. Friendly with all faes and flirtatious with them all. Though his upbringing should have him respect those who are mated. Why thank you, Lucas. Your compliments are kind. Her voice was soft and tender, not one that was unfamiliar, but one that was rarely in use. She decided it must be her natural reaction to pups. I do recall seeing you by your fathers side at the pack meeting some time back. My but you two look an awful lot alike. And I'm sure you will come to do great things just as your father before you. Her compliments were true and she strive not to make the apprentice feel uneasy around her.

Over his shoulder she saw another young apprentice, though this one she could not place. If she truly tried she might spot the some inheritance of the two Betas features in the young faes coat or eyes. But she was not. The little one greeted her respectfully and added a hello to Lucas. Nnlya raised her voice once more to speak. Hello there young one. I am Delta Nnlya if you are unaware. Is there anything either of you require of me or have you come for introductions and idle chat? For either I am sure to do. She paused. Her attention remaining on the fae. I'm sorry, little one, but I do not know your name. Her maw closed, severing the sound of her soft voice as she awaited reply.

[Not on my watch, Lucas! >:3]

The young male woke to an annoying start, as it was not warmth of his sister's thick sable pelt against his like normal that had awoken him, but the badgering noises of a wood-pecker above the large Beta den. He lowered his voice to murmur an irritated growl before whipping out onto his back and stretching in order so that he could return to his slumber. But the bird would not quit, thus causing the male's anger to rise and admit to the defeat of finally getting up for the long day ahead of him. Mother and father had already seem to of left the den that morning, as their bodies were no longer there, and surprisingly nor had his sister's, even. He suspected her to be with her duties as usual, though he had not expected to of awaken so late, for he had his share of apprenticing as well to fulfill. The Elite had been off busy serving for his new litter, and like his parents had told him continuously, there was always time for him to get around once he was ready. He was impatient with the waiting, though his mother luckily assured him that finally now that the pups are able to be freed form the den, that perhaps Kenai could start training the young male once more. Until then, all the male could really do was wait, and wait some more till the go was given.

On average small paws, the brute rose up and padded out into the light that glossed his ebony and crimson pelt beneath the sun's glory. With a few shakes and shudders of his body, he sent the debris and dust away from where it had clung due to the den's floor and walls before he followed after his sister's scent in spite of finding some entertainment while she was out and about the lands of his pack. The apprenticing warrior held little upon his mind besides looking around that day. There was much to see now that spring was in play again, and like last year, the lands were granted with the blessing of great beauty and flourished with color. He had come to hate the snowed season, as it only brought the color of white; a boring color, he believed, for it held no consistency, no contrast. Nonetheless, he knew that eventually the rainy season would then blossom and with time, it fortunately had. Now he was able to see the year progress into beauty, and it seemed the pack was growing quite nicely with the pack's aid in the new promotions and what not. And now that there were new litters, there were more individuals for him to learn from and even socialize with around his age limit. Sadly enough, with the strange disappearance of his younger brother, Griffen, and the Alpha son's death, there was only little amount around of his actual age besides his sister and the other two of the Alphas'. He was reminded of their names through the help of some gossip around the pack and the presence of the pack gathering.

He neared closer to the clearing as to where he heard voices chattering and mingling amongst one another. The brute's limey green hues watching as the bodies of wolves spoke, all the while lending him some time to identify all the faces to what he could remember. There was of course his sister about the group, along with the rebellious male, Lucas, one of the few his age he did not care for, but did all the same as he was in fact of the Alphas' blood. The other being a female, Nnlya if he knew better, the newly appointed Delta, whom worked along side the dashing fellow, Drogo, he believed. Beyond the mix of them, his eyes coursed across them to spot a smaller figure, one much younger and what he could consider was one of the newer litters, the Elites' in fact for that matter, as he held the coat of the male himself. He ignored the lad though and chose the direction of moving closer to his sister as he registered the flirtatiousness in Lucas's voice when he pressed on his words towards the Delta fae. There would be none of this to be put forth if his sister was his next victim, "Greetings faes and brutes.. Lucas." He said blankly while looking to the ivory adolescent before him that was considered the name, 'Lucas', then peering to his sister with his emerald-matching orbs and the other fae that was more older, and wiser then he, "And what may we be up to this beautiful morning if I dare ask?" Flickering his ears to straighten upwards towards the sky, he moved his body to stand near his sister's sable side and smiled, greeting her with a soft nudge of affection as he truly loved his beloved siblings, just as his mother and father did for them both, "Did you sleep well, Ry? I hadn't meant to kick you as much while we were at rest, nightmares are getting to me with not seeing Griffen around so much." His ears then turned back as he looked with a tilted half-grin to the larger female and dipped his snout in respect to her higher rank within the hierarchy of the pack rule, "Pleasure to meet you, Delta. You may refer to me as Apollo, an apprentice and oldest of the litter of three under the Betas' blood." As he finished, he made sure to keep his head and tail at a reasonable height, proving best of his abilities through teh way he stood and proudly putting on his winning smile as all he really wished to do was make individual's be happy and feel protected.

(OOC - I shall skip Lucas since he has left Helidos)

Soon losing interest in the young white male as the older fae spoke to him, she observed the female curiously, knowing she was a fairly high ranked wolf but she hadn't seen much of her around the pack or made her acquaintance before now, which was rather odd considering she was the Betas' pup, but also not so odd all the same considering she spent much of her time either in or around the Caretaker's Den and the kill pile. The faes coat was a mixture of charcoal and neutral colours, an attractive array of shades, and she seemed a fair and kind wolf too, though with enough wit and intelligence to not be a plain and simple fae. Ryland pondered which males had taken an interest in her, ones which were actually her own age and of her league, not some adolescent brute giving her unwanted attention. The Delta was doing a good job in holding off Lucas' advances, and a smirk formed on the apprentice's maw, finding it amusing that she addressed him in a manner which clearly expressed that she saw him as a pup and not a potential suitor. When the older wolf directed words towards the sable yearling she perked her ears and looked politely to the said wolf's face. "Oh, I only came to chat really. I'm Ryland, daughter of Beta Marrok and Beta Juno, and apprentice caretaker under Lead Caretaker Alanoth. It's a pleasure to meet you, Delta Nnlya". She smiled warmly and dipped her russet toned head.

Glancing over her shoulder at the sound of nearing pawsteps, her forest-green orbs sought out the figure of her older brother. As he moved to stand by her side she grinned, her tail gently tapping the ground while he greeted the group as a whole and then her individually with an affectionate nudge. "Afternoon. We are just talking" She nuzzled the cheek of her beloved brother, detecting the slight irritation in his voice, reassuring him that she could handle herself. Apollo was always there to watch over her and anyone else who needed it, he showed promise of becoming a high ranking wolf, always wishing for safety and happiness for others. As much as she appreciated it and loved him for it, she wanted him to just relax and enjoy the conversation at this moment. Aware that it was Lucas that irked him, she made no effort to interact any further with the Alpha's son, hoping to allow her sibling to settle down. With their younger brother not being around lately, worry had penetrated the normally peaceful aura in the Beta family, and she had figured it had affected Apollo quite severely, now he had admitted it she did feel empathy towards him. Ryland, however, just wanted to forget about it for a few moments, and decided to serve as a distraction to her brother's unsettled mind. "I slept well enough. It was cramped enough with you in the den anyway so I went and slept outside after I had enough of you kicking. Say, was it you or dad who snored so loud?" Giggling as she joked, she moved carefully around the base of the tree, avoiding any low branches, and repositioned herself on the side of her brother which provided shade from the light that came in through the treetops. The fae stretched her front half low into a bow before her rear dropped to the ground also, laying calmly with her packmates. Behind her happy mask she was concerned about the whereabouts of Griffen. Without him things felt unfamiliar, the lack of his boyish ways and trouble making was not what she was accustomed to. She missed his presence and even the teasing to which she associated with him dearly.

It was interesting for her to watch the children interact. the Apprentice finally gave her name to be Ryland and offered that she was studying under Alanoth to be a caretaker. But yet another was to join their party. A dark male yearling with bright green eyes approached easily. He showed a clear dislike for the Alphas son. Although she couldn't blame him, he seemed protective of his sister who evidently was the Apprentice Ryland. His affectionate greeting to her made this very clear. He introduced himself as Apprentice Apollo, the eldest son of Marrok and Juno. The two pups turned to one another and had a quiet conversation amongst themselves for a time, after which the Delta would politely respond. Well, it is a pleasure to meet you both. Ryland and Apollo. The fae would dip her head in a polite bid as she spoke the words.o

She observed their sweet, affectionate behaviour towards one another and smiled slightly. She dreamed of having wonderful, sweet, adorable pups as these. Close siblings who could rely upon one another. That's what she would be sure to teach her own. But she would have more to say. You say you are a litter of three, though you speak amongst yourselves that your brother is missing. I am very sorry to hear of this, but I am glad you think of one another so closely. Family is a very important thing and you should cherish it as you do.

For a moment she became wistful, remembering her own siblings. In particular, Onyx, as she often did. But in stead of reminiscing her brothers death, she contemplated what might have become if her other two brothers. Most likely her father would have assumed both she and Onyx dead. The pack would have been sad for a time, the loss of pups was always a heavy one for them. But as time moved on, there would need to be a new Alpha-heir to the pack. It would surely have been Roran who her father chose. Nate had wanted to be a healer. Roran was the fighter. He would make a good leader, she was sure. But she had no time for reminiscence and she returned her attention to the pups before her.

When the attention of his beloved sibling found it's way to his pair of hues, he was mirrored by her reassuring similar orbs with a sense of relief, for he knew now what he hadn't that morning, that she was indeed fine by herself. The strangeness within the situation was that he seem to be far too protective over her, even if they could defend themselves to an equal degree. Their mother and father knew somehow greatness would become of such secure aura. He could only hope from that it'll do some good for his potential future and path through life however, "I'm sorry for that, Ryland. Forgive me, I hadn't meant to kick you out of the den so late.. Sleeping outside must've been uncomfortable. Why hadn't you gone to sleep with the caretakers at least? They're always welcome for wolves without a den to rest." Before he could continue, Apollo averted his eyes to find the Delta female's near him, spooling out a mild and composed grin to curl against his lips as he looked to her with compassion for her higher rank, "The pleasure is all mine, ma'am. Mustn't I ask permission to state you other than your rank as Nnlya? Whichever you prefer, it would be greatly appreciated for you to tell me beforehand." He could not take his eyes away from the adult wolf, for she was mesmerizing, much like most of the females amongst Helidos were and perhaps more to come the sooner waves of new loners would start flowing in now that spring had blossomed. More his age were beginning to pop up and suddenly disappear, which worried him, but nevertheless, his mother and father had always told them that it was a matter of life. Not all were able to survive or be born, he was certain of. Apollo soon enough caught the end of Ryland's humor and could not keep himself shut long enough to keep from laughing, the pup-like attitude slowly returning from his becoming seriousness, "Afraid I have not yet gained the voice to begin snoring as of lately. But I'm not promising anything. Last night I could barely sleep as much as it was, so I would have to say it was father's doing." His features did not sneer or twitch from the lack of control, quickly scrapping away the excess playfulness to return back to his normal composure.

The pain was returning, slowly pushing down on his chest and disabling him to properly swallow without choking down enough saliva to clear his throat. It was hard to ignore, for if he would, it would only worsen, he believed and faintly knew as it had happened many times before due to the disappearance of his lesser sibling. He said nothing of this besides to himself, quietly drawing out a rough sigh as the Delta female began to speak up and break open the silence for him to be distracted elsewhere. Stop. It hurts. So what. His shoulders were constantly being weighed by the evil and good for what he personally thought was wrong with him. His thoughts told him that it'll be okay and to toughen up, but his body didn't agree to even the slightest. Again, his lips stayed sealed before the question of the older female made his ears fleck forwards and the crimson dipped hairs across his backside stand on end, "My family is my everything and more. Now that Griffen's appearance is no longer apparent, Ryland is the only sibling I have left to protect." His eyes looked over her next to him, the glow to degree close to a passionate green while his movements displayed calmly before the wolves, "I fear that one day that if I do not protect her from danger, I'll loose her too. I would only blame myself as her older brother that it was my fault if the time came. I would never forgive myself, and that goes for my father and mother especially. Our parents have told us about their sides upon family and said that is the only thing you'll have left in this life before we pass on with the next generations behind. We are to live it like we wish and be happy as a family, to protect each other.. to protect the pack from harm.. and that is just what I intend to do." He nodded quietly as he began to think himself over ever so slowly, then turning his eyes to meet Ryland's in a sort of care and wonder. He would sacrifice anything to save what he truly loved; family.
