Ariste walked towards the Isle, shaking out her fur. She slipped into a trot, entering the Isle. She drew in a breath, gasping. The black fae walked slowly through the rocks, looking around in awe. She was just exploring the Isle De Muerto, happy to get away from the other wolves and be alone. She smoothed her fur, wading through a puddle of water. Her tail swished in amazement as she ventured further and futher in. She yawned, stopping near a cliff, pinning her ears back with a soft, interested growl. She took a deep breath, taking in all the new and different scents, familiarizing herself with them, and storing them away in her memory for later.
"Wow...." She breathed, looking around at the beautiful area. She crossed her paws, laying down and looking down over the cliff. She chuffed, licking her nose. She rolled her shoulders, ears moving back and forth, her guard temporarily down. She sighed in contentment, wishing she could stay here. She blinked, shaking her head. She smiled slightly, closing her eyes and relaxing.

The hunter stood still, flicking his tail to and fro in annoyance as he panted heavily. His chest rose with every intake of air and he huffed loudly as he exhaled. Up on the mountain it was cold enough to form small steamy clouds from his panting maw and billowing nostrils as he breathed. Only after several long minutes did his pulse begin to slow down to its usual rate. The chase had been long and hard and the tracking before it had been longer still. All the way back in Helidos territory he had picked up the scent and followed it to this dangerous place of neutral lands, only to finally reach the herd and have his prey stolen by a puma. Right before his very eyes it had pounced from a ledge above and killed the doe he had been pursuing. Eclipse knew the big cats were not stupid, it had been watching him the whole time and jumped in at the right moment to waste all his hard efforts, and he was not so stupid to try to take on a cougar by himself. One-on-one he knew he didn't stand a chance. So he had no choice but to have watched on quietly as the beast dragged the dead animal away to feast on for itself.

Turning around now that he caught his breath, a low growl vibrated from his throat as he trod slowly back along the mountain path to return back home with nothing to show for himself, which for him was the very worst feeling. He was alone, angry, he was exhausted, but most of all he was desperate. Why else would he have followed a trail all the way out here? The leaves were falling all around and prey was hiding away. He was just desperate to hunt anything he could to keep the kill pile high before Winter arrived.

Continuing to pad along on his weary paws, he descended the slope carefully until at one point he leapt over a boulder and slipped as he landed, not realising his muscles were too tired to hold him up with the impact of landing. It ended up with him disturbing the unstable stones and creating a small rockslide that pulled him down towards the cliff edge. For some time he tumbled, not having the strength nor time to dig in his claws and attempt to stop himself. As most of the material began to pour off the cliff and fall into the water below the sliding slowed down until he was stopped suddenly as his chest collided gently into something dark and soft. He hauled himself up so that he was sitting down and looked to see the onyx fae who he had bumped into and who may just have saved his life. Ears pinning, he dipped his head low in an apology. Quickly he realised she did not smell of his pack, but of Erenyx. Today was really not his day. His amber eyes widened and he was quick to formulate his words, speaking calmly but with slight concern for himself. "Forgive me miss. I'm so sorry..."

Ariste had been peacefully resting, almost in a state of light slumber, eyes just beginning to become heavy. She sighed, licking her nose, when suddenly her ears perked, and she jumped up, at the sound of rocks sliding towards her. She whipped around, when she felt another wolf run into her. Her lips curled into a snarl, distorting her features as a growl ripped from her throat when she realized it was a Helidos wolf. She eyed him, sizing him up. She wrinkled her nose, before covering her fangs again.

She growled, standing to her full height, silver and gold eyes narrowing. "You're lucky I don't rip you to shreds." She snarled, wanting to show she wasn't one to be messed with. Her muscled tensed, prepared to spring at any time, tail flicking in annoyance. After a moment she stopped growling, eyes narrowing further. "Who are you?" She barked, eyes searching his, her fierce gaze meeting his

He was aware that he had disturbed the dark female, as she had most likely been resting in the serene peace of her loneliness before the collision. The rockfall and his great mass slamming into her had startled her at the least, and the hunter could tell it had made her defences come up, building a fort around herself to make it clear that Eclipse was not welcome near her and to display her dislike at having been interrupted from her lonesome comfort. No doubt he had scared her for a moment, and for that he was most sorry for doing. Thankfully though the fae seemed unharmed, as he truly did not want to have caused her harm despite their pack differences and the hatred that existed between their two sides. He himself had acquired a few minor scrapes and cuts from the incident which he would not come to realise until he groomed his coat later. Her snarling he accepted at first for he had knocked into her, and so he kept his head hung long in a prolonged bow of an apology, both his full and his torn ear reclined slightly towards his skull. The growl that rippled through her jaws seemed to grow quiet after she heard his apology and she glanced over him, assessing his form and figure. Eclipse watched her quietly, avoiding eye contact as much as possible from his lowered head position, and secretly stiffened his limbs to contract the muscles there, prepared to move in case of an attack and also making the muscles more visible so she would not attack thinking he was an easy target. His build was firmer and stronger than it had ever been, built up from a whole summer's worth of abundant food supply and training from Delta Nnlya.

As she closed her maw to hide her teeth the growl continued while she stood taller, her glimmering eyes glaring at him. As she spoke he picked up his head higher than before and glanced to her muzzle from which the growl vibrated from. "Lucky indeed, miss. I don't much like having my pelt messed up" The brute smiled faintly at his small witty comment, a kind smile as if he had only tried to make her smile too. As she snarled again his large ears pinned lower against his head for a brief moment before perking forwards again as he grew accustomed to the sound. His vision jumped towards the warrior's tail as it hovered and swayed, proving her agitation. Finally the grumbling from her throat ceased so Eclipse sat up straighter and allowed his fur to smooth down again, curling his fluffy brown tail around his paws. "I am truly sorry for disturbing you, lady of Erenyx. You may not want to accept the apology, but I still offer it to you. And I am grateful that you were there to stop me falling off the edge". Her commanding bark of a question did not faze him, an even expression plastered across his face as he looked to her gaze and saw her as an equal wolf in his golden eyes. "My name is Eclipse, of Helidos. And who are you?"He asked, the tip of his tail tapping the ground as he looked her over for a moment and shifted his weight on his paws.

Ariste eyed him cautiously, only slightly comforted by his submissive behavior. Her jowls quivered, and she remained on her paws, stiff legged and glowering. Her ears pulled back in annoyance, before perking straight up. Her tail stilled, as she watched this wolf for a moment. 'Either he's not to bright, or has absolutely no training in fighting. Or just no knowledge of Erenyx wolves.' She mused, as he didn't so much as growl, completely relaxing in her presence. She could very easily kill this brute, with one bound the way he was sitting. "Eclipse... If you must know, I'm Ariste, a Warrior of Erenyx." She responded, her her eyes flashing, before she also began to ease up. She sat, her guard remaining up, but on the defense slightly less. Her multicolored hues bored into the brute's scull as she awaited his words

Eclipse remained calm and composed in his exterior features before the female who still seemed prepared to attack him, though beneath his pelt his muscles were still braced and ready for action in case she did surge towards him. He could tell his friendliness did not impress the dark Erenyx fae, though he had somewhat put on an act to diffuse her aggression. The hunter never wished to hurt a fellow wolf, especially not now; he was much too exhausted from the trek, the failed hunt and the battering of his fall to be looking for a fight. He thought from her expression that she probably considered him stupid for not being defensive and threatening her in return, but he was not a hotheaded fighter. He was able to fight but he didn't want to, that was the difference between him and her. She was a follower of Steele, she probably enjoyed spilling blood. Still he wasn't going to stereotype her, he would see if the rumours about Erenyx applied to this female. Only one other wolf had he met from Erenyx, a black fae as she had left the lands with a coat drenched in crimson liquid. She had been fairly hostile, but Eclipse had seen through her front and considered that she was troubled more than anything, escaping to a new life. Maybe that was the case with this warrior.

His tail stopped and laid limp on the ground as she spoke again, tense for a second as he was unsure what she would say or possibly threaten him with. Thankfully she was just answering his question. Eclipse watched and relaxed slightly as she sat, relieved that she had simmered down. He glanced around and sniffed the air quickly to check there were none of her packmates around waiting to ambush him or something. "Well, Ariste a Warrior of Erenyx..." He paused, not knowing what to say. A pleasure to make your acquaintance?, he thought. No, that would be quite a lie. It was then he smelled something that made his mind go blank and his muscles coil. It was not other Erenyx wolves. The lead hunter stood to his paws quickly and turned to take a glimpse down the cliff. He saw the beast, hovering its great mass over the corpse of a deer and an annoyed puma hissing at it, but it couldn't do anything against a bear. Karma. "I don't know about you, but I'm hungry. I think we could make a plan to make these two distract each other so we can steal the food in the process. That deer was mine originally anyway" The brute looked back to Ariste and indicated the scene going on with the puma and bear with a flick of his muzzle. "If you're willing to work with me, are you up for it?" He tilted his head, quirking a brow.

Ariste didn't immediately respond, her ear flicking at the noise of the fight. She tensed, her muscles rippling under her ebony coat. Her fur bristled, as she watched the pair caught in a growling and snarling fight. Finally she looked up at eclipse, her gold and silver optics flashing. "Okay... I'll work with you." She finally consented, her eyes locking on his briefly, before glancing back down. She knew she wouldn't partake of the kill, if they got it, but the thrill of the fight triggered her blood thirst, the blood pumping through her veins. The sound roared in her ears, as she got to her feet silently. Her eyes drifted back down, to the puma and bear, before she backed out of view, glancing around. Maybe if she could round behind them... She glanced up at eclipse. She wouldn't take orders from him, but would listen to them, and wanted to make sure they were on the same page.

With a silent hope he continued to watch her as she was focused on watching the noisy scene between the two mammals below and didn't make any indication of accepting nor denying his offer of her working with him. The brute could see that she seemed to become more alert and prepared to attack again as she observed the threatening acts of the cougar and the bear, her pelt standing on end and her muscles coiling, like a hunter ready to strike. Eventually Ariste acknowledged his presence again and looked to him with her two-toned orbs, and somewhat surprisingly she was willing to work with him. The hunter's maw creased into a small smile, glad for the slight progress in their relationship as he spoke to her, "Alright, great". However she had sounded hesitant to agree to joining him on the task, but he pushed that aside. Their eyes met for a moment, deep amber clashing with the silvery gold, and to Eclipse that was either a cautious look or an affirmative glance to say that they were going to cooperate with each other now. He couldn't be sure which one the stare represented exactly but he assumed the first was most likely. Either way they were going to have to get along and trust one another, and for two wolves who had never met previously and who belonged to enemy packs it was the ultimate danger and abandonment of the norm for interacting with each other.

Eclipse moved out of sight from the predators below and paced around, pondering a plan of attack, his brows furrowing with his deep thoughts. Maybe they could find a way to actually get the bear to attack the puma and then move in quickly to take the deer. He wanted the puma to really feel the wrath of pain for stealing the prey from him in the first place. But he wasn't certain on what to do. Looking to the warrior, he saw her watching him and straightened, rolling his shoulders back to demonstrate that he knew what he was doing. "I was thinking we could move down the side to corner the puma from behind and drive it towards the bear so the bear will attack it then we can move in while they're distracted. Unless you've got any other plans". He paused just and looked at her until she responded then padded carefully down the slope of the cliff to get a closer look.

Ariste paused, crouching, trying to keep out of sight while she pondered the idea. 'It's risky, but also could easily get us the kill... It just might work..' She mused silently, flicking her ears back. Finally She noticed him looking at her, and nodded her approval. Crouching low to the ground, she slipped around behind a rock, placing her paws on it and peeking over. She proceeded to dart around, until she was on the ledge, peering over. In one swift bound, she was on the level just above them, crouched and silent. She kept out of their vision, in their blind spot. Pinning her ears, she surpressed a growl, her interest piqued. She watched closely, before glancing at Eclipse with a look that said; 'Ready when you are.' She tensed her muscles, reverting her eyes back to the pair of snarling beasts, ready to tear at each other. She continued watching closely, belly touching the ground, the fae's lip turned up slightly, in a small snarl, before keeping to the shadows, melting in.

They were agreed on their plan and so the lead hunter would try and behave the same as he did with those he hunted with back in Helidos, giving clear signals to the other wolves to either signify he was going to do something or that it was time for them to move ahead with their part of the preplanned strategy. Communication was key to success on prey killing expeditions or missions such as these, moving in time and carrying it out perfectly was necessary for it to work, so they had to put aside their differences and pay attention to each other. Eclipse watched the female sneak behind rocks and approach closer to the predators ledge by ledge until she could view them from a safe position where they were still unaware of her presence. Eventually she got to a vantage point directly above them by just one mere overhang of rock, and he analysed her form to see if she was prepared for action. Her muscles were bunched, ears pinned. When she glanced at him the brute knew she was ready and remained so as she stayed crouched as still as a tree, waiting only for the male himself to be ready and indicate to her what was happening next. He crept around silently to the same ledge as she stood but moved a few feet to the side. Ears flat against his head and nose flaring, he kept his eyes glued to the puma, a gleam of loathing within his normally soft orbs. "When I signal to you, you must run down towards the cougar from the rear: growling, snarling, barking... whatever you do best. But you can't feel any hesitation or fear, they can sense that and the plan will fail. You must be bold when you charge for the cat to panic and dash blindly to the bear." Somehow he figured it wouldn't be a problem for the fae, perhaps it was the fact she was Erenyx. Yet still he turned his head and gave her a brief look and a reassuring nod before stalking around to a place to the front of the puma but crouched low enough and so far back that he was out of sight. From there he watched and waited until an intense moment between the cat and bear arose, then he quickly flicked his tail straight out behind him as the signal to Ariste to charge at the puma from behind. Eclipse would stay on the ledge and observe the bear and make sure all went as planned, and if it didn't he would move in swiftly and use his valuable knowledge from previous hunting experience to allow him to take the appropriate action.

Ariste spied on the bear and cat, and could tell the cat was very stupid for not backing down from the large beast. 'Makes my job a lot easier...' She mused, a smirk gracing her lips in amusement. Ariste braced, excitement coursing through her vains. Her ear flicked, listening to the Hunter, and flicked her gaze to him, giving a firm nod that she understood the plan. She crouched, shimmying over so she wouldn't land directly on the puma, or the bear. She darted glances from Eclipse to the pair locked in combat, muscles quivering anxiously. Almost the second she saw Eclipse's tail fan out, she leapt with a noise that could be likened to a roar of sorts. Her ears pinned, and her jowls peeled back, revealing ivory white fangs. She turned to the puma, running forward, ignoring it's hiss. She gave a loud, deep bark that didn't seem to come from such a fragile looking wolf, planting her paws. Her bark was followed by a series of growls, snaps, and huffs. Her tail flicked teasingly behind her back, weaving to try to distract the puma's attention from the bear. 'Calm down, Ari, don't lose control...Just get the bear to chase the puma.' She hissed to herself, taking a deep breath. Her nostrils flared, and she continued making noise. She felt the wind cut into her skin, and was startled when she noticed the bear was now paying attention to her! It advanced, but Ariste didn't back off. "Think you can outwit me, eh?" She muttered, bracing to jump.

She continued her little dance, challenging the bear to catch her, but kept her eyes on the puma. She darted away from the bear, now going into attack mode. "No more playing around.." She growled fiercly. She stole a glance to Eclipse, in which the bear took the oppritunity to charge. Ariste twisted to avoid it, but felt her leg get scraped. She shook her head with a snort, backing up, but refusing to run. She backed to the ledge Eclipse was upon. "Either come fight, or run home to Helidos, because you can either help or run to mommy." She snapped, moving from the wall so she didn't get cornered.

Nashoba was relaxing in a small den he found, the scent of puma was fading from it as his scent grew in it. Nashoba sniffed around the den then decided it was well abandoned. Lucky him, he didn't have to avoid another puma. Last time he had found a den to relax in a mother puma was in it. So, when he had glanced in he got a nice scratch on his face leaving a small scar that can not be seen under his fur.

After remembering that he glanced around the den to make sure. It was very dangerous to deal with a puma by yourself, at least that was what Nashoba thought. After a little bit of rest he hauled himself up and stretched his legs. He trotted out of the den and slowly walked around. He felt like any wolf that has been here for many years, but really he wasn't. His ears twitched when he heard some wolves, he stopped and looked around. When he found them he started walking to them. When he got there he lowered his body to the ground and watched the two. One was from Helidos and the other was from his very own pack, Erenyx.
