Caila was a sweet wolf who didn't deserve anything that came to her. She did not deserve to loose her pups and especially didn't deserve to come home to her mate dead of poison. She was still sad but needed to find a home and that home would be permanent. She had traveled for two years with a pack and two years with a family she made. It was sad to loose them, and sad to leave them. She blamed herself for their death of course when truly she couldn't do anything. They woke up to the smell so they didn't think it was the water they thought it was somewhere outside. If she hadn't went hunting she would have woke up to the smell too and she would've been dead too. She didn't care though she wanted to be with them. The four year old wolf was sad but she was trying to get rid of the feeling. She could live among wolves that she could end up loving too. This time she wouldn't act like she did when she was younger and attach herself to anybody. She would make friends and stay in the pack no matter what everyone else did.

She had been walking for awhile and was getting hungry. She looked around and saw some tracks in the snow. They were small in the front and long prints behind it, rabbit tracks. She sniffed the tracks and realized they were not that old. She followed the tracks to the rabbit, it was a nice size to eat. She slowly stalked towards it keeping her pawsteps quiet and staying down wind to it. When she was body length away she pounced and snapped her jaws around the meal. She set down the rabbit and said her thanks then ate away. It wasn't that good tasting but it was better then nothing. After eating she kept walking until she scented something, it was other wolves, their scents were strong and vicious so she kept walking until she found a territory mixed with wolf scents, that was not the place to be either. She trekked on until she scented some wolves that smelled strong of numbers and nice. This was the place for her.

She stopped at the border and looked around, it was beautiful. It was covered in snow that shined like crystals in the sun. The tree's around her were full of ice crystals and past the area was a plain with tree's that lined up on the other side. She smiled at a such wonderful sight. "Wow, it is wonderful here and I have not even met a wolf from here." Her comment reminded her to howl, she lifted her muzzle to the sky and put her lips into a perfect circle and let a beautiful howl ring out through the lands letting wolves nearby and far know about her presence. Her howl rose in a crescendo and went back down slowly going quieter and quieter until she stopped in a decrscendo. She would speak only the truth in this pack and be the best she could at not letting them down. She sat down and waited for a wolf to come. She had never greeted a wolf at a border or asked for acceptance so she didn't know what to expect except for her having to submit and telling them about herself.

The Elite woke in her den early one morn to the sound of a howl at the borders. She looked around her empty den, sighting that she had not yet taken up residence with Drogo yet. Her den felt so empty. She had always been the only one in its rooted confines. But when he disappeared and she lost her chance, her little home was feeling particularly cold. With his return she had every intention of becoming his mate, living together in a den with him. Until that day her den would hold it's cold feeling and the season didn't help. With one final look she took off to the border, racing to meet the new traveller, likely a hopeful wishing to join the ranks. The run was not terribly long. Pushing herself she made good time and arrived panting. She stopped, just out of sight of the light female to calm herself. She took a deep breath, held it and exhaled. Deep breath. Hold. Exhale. When the burn had gone from her lungs she walked forth. A smile set itself on her sweet face as she beheld the female.

She was indeed lovely. Attractive like Nnlya, though the charcoal female would never be so vain as to call herself attractive. The creamy females eyes were stunning. A lovely hazel colour greeted her. Nnlya's tail rose almost of its own accord to a more dominant position. It was inevitable, she supposed. Born a daughter to an alpha, raised as an alpha heir. Living a yeah and a half ruling over her own life. And now holding the third highest rank in her pack. But the female before her was more important at the moment. "Hello there dear. Elite Nnlya of these lands, at your service." She cooed sweetly to the female. "Might I be privileged enough to know your calling? And of course your purpose here?" She had taken an instant liking to this fae.

Caila was looking at the sky, the clouds were large and fluffy promising snow. She hoped there wouldn’t be much snow because she didn’t like freezing her tail off. Not that any wolf wants to freeze but still. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sweet voice. A beautiful fae so kindly introduced herself as Elite Nnlya. ‘Nnlya… What a beautiful name.’ She thought to herself as she examined this wolf and matched her face and scent to her name. She was happy to be at the border of this place, it almost seemed unreal but she would not mention that. She didn’t know if she were dreaming or not, maybe she fell asleep before somebody came to the border or maybe she dreamed her mates death completely to this part and she would wake up next to her mate. She shook that off and submitted to the fae, it wasn’t fake and she knew that. It was all reality and she would never see the handsome face of her mate Onai. She looked up to Nnlya and smiled, “Well nice to meet you Elite Nnlya. I am Caila, I have called you in hope to join these beautiful lands.”

Caila swept her tail across the ground clearing any harmful debris from under her and sat down with her tail tight to her side and head still low with her ears pushed to the back of her head. She did not know if this wolf would get offensive if she didn’t submit so she made sure to. Caila felt a small wind blow and a light snowing start to happen. The small snowflakes rested in her fur and melted with her body heat. She looked up at the snow falling and smiled, it added to the beauty around her. She loved to see the beauty in everything. It was better then seeing the worst of everything, that was for sure. She shook some flakes from her fur then looked back to Nnlya waiting for her response.

The fae was so sweet, Nnlya thought. She seemed to carry such an innocence and appreciation for beauty that this wolf would never have assumed any sort of dark past having befallen the other. She smiled slightly at the name. "Caila, such a sweet name for such a sweet fae." She said the words, almost tasting the name upon her tongue. This fae would have no trouble finding herself a mate in these parts if that was her desire. The female sat herself gracefully, taking a moment to look up at the falling snow. Truly she had the wonder of a child in those hazel eyes. The Elite allowed her to experience this moment of beauty, for such opportunities were often lost on formalities that could wait just a few moments longer. When the white face once more turned to view her greeter, Nnlya smiled and chose to continue what had become a ritual to her. "Well, if it is to become a part of Helidos you are in the right place." She said, taking a seat herself. "But before I can offer you a place I need to know a little about you, your history and your skills." The snow drifted around them, not turning into any sort of dangerous storm... Yet.

She closed her eyes and took in the name, Helidos. 'Helidos and Nnlya both such nice names. I have a feeling I will easily make friends here.' she thought. She couldn't wait to join these lands. She opened her eyes when the fae spoke again. A sad feeling came to her when the fae asked her about her history. She had no choice but to answer, "My history." she sighed "Well it didn't have many bad things first off but when something happened it was really hard for me because I wasn't used to it. I think I will just tell you good things because I might tear up if I speak of the bad." she sniffed holding back tears when she thought of her mate. "Of course if you want to know I can tell you later. But now its not that important to think of the bad, it is always best to think good. That's how I made it this far, I spent two years in a pack that revolved around family. We would hunt together and act like we were friends and play all the time. Oh, how I missed then. Well the reason I didn't stay longer is because I made additions to the family and my father, as beta, didn't like my mate, Onai. He got Onai in trouble and got him banned from the pack. I was not going to let my pups grow up without knowing their father and especially my dad talking horribly about him so I said goodbye and followed Onai." she smiled at the thought of how much fun they had together growing up from pups to being together until his end. "I lived for two more years with a pack I made, I rather just call it a family though. It was me, Onai, and my four pups. Something tragic happened though and they lost their lives." she held back tears and looked at the ground, "And my skills. Well, I am good fighter and exceptional hunter, I don't know many herbs so healer would be a bad place to put me. I believe I would do best at a warrior but you can put me wherever in the ranks you think best fits me." She forced a smile to her face.

Nnlya nodded in both agreeance and thanks, "Indeed it is far better to focus on the positive aspects. If we must consider the more depressing parts of our lives, it should be with pride that we pushed through and survived the trial. Thank you for sharing that with me, Caila." Nnlya had met far too many wolves with some tragedy in their past. There was so much death and anger surrounding these wolves, it was almost suffocating. Helidos aimed to provide a second or even third chance, with very little consideration for past misdemeanours. Drogo was a perfect example of this. His past was riddled with countless deaths, but only two mattered in particular. And it didn't matter. He was still accepted, welcomed openly and given the chance to start fresh, redeem himself in his own eyes. There was really only one thing left for the new female to answer to before she could enter her new home. Nnlya offered a small smile, saying, "There is only one question left dear. It is many-layered, but if you can answer it you will be granted the rank of Warrior. Can you swear yourself into service and submission of our Alphess Quinn? Will you vow to protect your packmates and work hard to earn your keep? Most importantly, will you uphold these oaths, no matter the scenario?" She hoped she would not need to wait too long. The wind was picking up and safety was a good long run away.

Caila listened to Nnlya agree with her, she liked Nnlya a lot and was hoping they could be friends. She closed her eyes and listened to her speak of the oath, Caila smiled when Nnlya finished the oath that Caila had to take, ”I Caila solemnly swear my self to Alphess Quinn, my packmates and will work hard to earn my keep. With that I will never go back on my oath no matter what.” she smiled for real this time. She couldn't wait to join the pack of Helidos. She felt the wind picking up around them and hoped it wouldn't be too far of a run to safety. She looked at the sky, the white fluffy clouds she saw before turned dark and evil looking. She wanted to ask Nnlya before it was too late if they could be friends but didn't know how to word it and just sat there. She shook the snow that was sticking to her fur and not melting off then looked to Nnlya, ”Wow the storm sure is picking up, is it a far run to safety?” she had a bit of nervousness in her voice. She didn’t know how far or even where to run for safety and usually she had a place she knew of that was safe. She didn’t want to get caught in a bad storm, nothing bad really could happen she just didn’t like storms that much. Since a lightning storm started the forest fire that killed some of her pups. This storm wouldn’t start a fire but could, if it was strong enough, knock big tree branches down.

Simple and effective. It was enough. Nnlya nodded to the white fae, appeased by her oath. "Thank you, Warrior Caila." But there would soon need to be actions to support those words. Nnlya expected the best of every wolf she welcomed and Caila would be no different. It would look bad on her if she had given rank to someone who was unworthy of being called a Helidos wolf. Along with the raging wind came a flurry of snow falling from the dark clouds above. With each white fleck that grazed her fur the air around her seemed to grow colder. Tossing her head this way and that, she tried to pick the fastest route to the clearing. "It's a bit of a run, I hope you're not too tired. But we should make it before the storm really hits. Come with me." The charcoal wolf took off at a run, expecting the Warrior to follow. She set her course for the pack clearing, intending to provide the fae with a den of her own before bunkering down in her cosy little home.

Ooc - No need to reply to this. Feel free to change your name to Warrior Caila and add yourself to the Helidos group (found under the ranks tab up top). You can now post in the Helidos and Neutral territories. Also, don't forget to add yourself to the Ranks page and the Name Claim if you already haven't. Welcome to the Pack!
