She peered from the bushes with piercing dark blue eyes cautiously and scanned the border if there was anyone near to welcome her before she emerged away from her hiding spot. Kennedy saw no sign of movement so she moved from the shrub quietly, making her way towards the border of the pack. The pack's scent was everywhere, it almost overpowered her nostrils to a point it was annoying. The creamed coated fae felt the dew under her feet make her fur on her paws dampen with every step. Her lips curled into a smile at the site of Spring blooming everywhere. The sounds that surrounded the fae were peaceful and the wildflowers she saw in the meadow she passed earlier were slowly making an effort to be the most beautiful thing her eyes had ever laid upon.

As she stood in front of the border her gaze went deep within the darkness the trees before her possessed and went into a blank state of daydreaming. A common thing with the fae, a weakness, something she dreaded having but couldn't stop it since it was a part of her permanently. A few minutes past without blinking and it made her eyes go dry. Blinking back, her attention was back to its complete focus. Kennedy shook her head with frustration over the disorder that devoured her mind and sat down the scratch her tattered ear that had a bite mark taken out from her past. Relieving the scratch she stood back up and straightened. Tilting her snout towards the cloudy skies she sang with a call to a pack's member nearby in need of acceptance.

Once her howl was finished she lowered her chin down to eye level and she laid down with her legs crossed over each other. The dew on the rich spring grass made her underbelly go damp but she didn't mind since it was cooling her body heat. Curling her thick creamed tail around her she sat in silence, waiting patiently for one to come across her call and soon welcome her. Kennedy's thoughts had brought her here, if they were right then this would be her new home where she could begin to be more communicating with others. "Please be right..." she spoke to her mind aloud in a whisper.

Spring was upon them, spreading as quickly as a roaring forest fire; completely and utterly unstoppable. It was a time which was comfortable to the skin, the air not pleadingly hot nor frigid, and the signs of youth, rebirth and life rang throughout the forest with a lively call. On her leisurely walk, Esmeralda could see, on a few occasions, patches of uncovered ground, enchanting flowers sprouting upwards to greet the morning light. All clear, loud ringing sings spring was ready to begin. And to Esmeralda, serpent by nature, ice queen to all, it was just another overly joyful time which she resented. With spring, wolves became more rigid in temper as their minds began to steer them towards reproducing. Creating young, lively litters who would grow large enough to face the winter far ahead, then either heading into the unknown or staying to live with their gracious families. Though to reach such an ending, one had to find a match first. Esmeralda could imagine it now, wicked glances thrown about the females, puffed chests from the brutes, while she watched from afar waiting for her own reign to begin.

Amongst the troublesome thoughts, swarming in her mind like caged honey bees, Esmeralda's senses dulled, distracted by her mental being. Eventually however she tuned back into reality. Raven black nostrils took in the thick pine while ashen ears rotating to their limits, scouring for an intruder, while emerald hues perceived what was in grasp. The ears were the first to detect the loner's call; a desperate tune passed along by tree branches and in the wind's very own caressing waves. She did not hasten her step but continued to walk as if the call wasn't heard, though her eyes were sharply parting the way for any sign of movement.

The figure was unexpected, dainty and vibrant with a coat of extravagant cream, almost hidden in the remaining ivory snow. She was in a comfortable lying position, with the forelegs crossed in a mannerly fashion. The serpent recoiled, examining from the shadows, before stepping into the thinner forested area. Eyes narrowed into slits, the venomous glare was harsh and intimidating, as it was meant to be. The tail was leveled, showing dominance, and eventually it curled completely. Yet not a sound left the ashen muzzle, the eyes and stance did all the needed talking. Speak. Esmeralda thought vaguely as if the fae could hear her as Esmeralda was growing impatient while waiting for a response.

With the passing of winter and the bright spring colors coming back into play, Steele knew the faes would be starting their heat soon. He hadn't the time to meet many faes, but the one he did meet and knew rather well, sent shivers down his spine. Her scent was strange and caused the male to think bizarre thoughts he never would before. He hated her, at least that was what he told himself. Jet black paws strode along the floor in a long stride. Silver eyes watched his surroundings change rather slowly. Dirt and old snow stuck between his paws, clinging to his toes. It had been many moons since the wolf had shown his presence at the border, and now he figured it was about time to start his master plan. Kenai was a bother, a bore. He drove him mad with anger and yet, there was nothing he could do about it. Just thinking about the brute, sent the onyx wolf into a fury or rage and anger. Quickening his pace, his nose searched for any sign of a new presence, while his ears listened closely for the snapping of twigs, the bustle of bushes, or even the breathing of another living creature. With winter coming to an end, the larger predators would be out and about.

Allowing no time for resting or pauses, he was finally at the border. Lifeless hues searched and scanned over the land, looking for anything that would catch his eye or his needs. It was not long until not one, but two female scents crossed his nostrils. The first scent was close and he knew it well. His tail curled over his spine and his head slowly began to rise. The other scent was new and fresh. He was entirely intrigued by both of these scents. As Beta male it would be easy to get any fae he wished, using his rank and his strength. His good looks also helped the cause as well. After a moment's decision, he stepped forward, letting his presence be known. He was taller than both and very eager to speak with the both of them. The new fae was a light cream color, almost like a mix of Azul and Caretaker Genevieve. His stomach began to turn as he envisioned Azul standing before him. Low growls became lodged in his throat, not allowing them to be heard. Before he could continue on his tangent in his mind, Esmeralda's form was before him. His eyes stared at her ashen fur, watching the light breeze dance in her fur. Silver eyes studied her stance, enjoying the way she controlled the situation with the newcomer. Whether it be the season or him finding his true feelings right here and now, he knew what he wanted.

The black and peppered wolves were not alone, for they had a guest to take care of. Moving his attention from the warrior to the loner, he took more steps towards her. Eyeing her form, looking for talents or hints of what she could really do, he spoke to her. "I am Beta Steele. You have come to these lands, to my border. What do you seek fae?" Keeping his stance, dominance seemed to reek from his fur. Agitation was beginning to build within him, keeping it under lock for now, but her attitude would be what changed the whole thing. If he could get her accepted and out of the way, he could address a more pressing issue to the higher ranking wolf.

The scent of another reached her snout within milliseconds. The oder stung inside her naval cavities and it made her stand out of annoyance. Putrid it may be, but it was a sign someone had heard her call of acceptance. A strange movement caught her dark sapphire eyes and her gaze averted towards the shadow that lurked within the trees. A strange silver fae appeared from the black and emerged with great dominance. Surely an elite or sufficient warrior she assumed. Kennedy's build straightened and her tail lifelessly fell without a care for the ones presence. They silence the fae carried to ensure her a sign to speak was rude to her point of view. Peachy, why do I get all the mean ones. She thought. Giving a deep breathe to relieve her thoughts she spoke in the most kind manner she could manage. "Good evening, I am Kennedy. It's nice to meet you." Not. The ash colored fae's body language showed a non-friendly feel and it almost made her lip curl.

Her creamy ears pierced back at the sound of a massive brute headed their way. She didn't enjoy the sight of males, all they were were another wasteful creature to walk to earth without a care in the world. Her eyes averted to a moving black object work their way towards them. It was indeed a massive brute like she had expected. He had a huge build and was immensely tall. His looks were deceiving but didn't change the fae's opinion on males. The onyx brute stood next to the fae in front of her like as if they were companions. A feel of disgust made her eyes go a rather fainted blue. The male introduced him as Beta Steele as she saw his eyes linger upon her frame. Kennedy kept her chin held up even though she was strangely uncomfortable with the ones eyes on her like she was a project in need of an analyzation. "Hello Beta Steele, my name is Kennedy. I have come here in need of acceptance in this pack. I feel I'd be a great asset to this place as well." Kennedy managed a smile at the Beta, for which at least someone could speak around here. The other's way of welcoming herself didn't satisfy her very much.

The serpent's dominant aura only heightened when the Beta stepped into the clearing, his own stance matching her own, though he had the rank which allowed such a stance. A snarl of disgust erupted from the ashen muzzle and she walked away from his side, not appreciating his proximity. She tried not to dwell on Steele's presence, even as he spoke to the loner she found, and instead focused her venomous gaze on the unlucky fae. Before he'd entered, the fae had spoken briefly to her, the 'nice to meet you' still ringing challengingly in her ears, and Esmeralda had yet to respond. "You can deal with this if you want..." Esmeralda had previously wanted to see if the fae was any use to her cause but with Steele there, it made things highly...aggravating.

"But...then again, we can't let you have all the fun." Esmeralda's fur rippled with new found stubbornness as she waltzed up to meet the new comer, getting closer than even the Beta. "You feel you'd be a great asset? Bold words. What skills do you have, she-wolf, that makes you worth our time? Come now, speak up, do not shy away from the challenge...tell me!" Her voice was laced with a challenging tone, eyes narrowed as she towered over the female, tail still curled.

Silver eyes moved between the two faes, secretly of course. His eyes stayed on the fae before him, but with his peripheral view, he watched the Warrior. When the fae addressed him, she did not show the respect he had desired. In fact, it angered him to a degree. Trying to watch the ashen fae and the newcomer at once was a tough business. When she relinquished the fae to him, he felt a strange feeling. Something he hadn't felt ever in his life, regret. Steele began to speak, but when he heard her voice once again he stopped. Esmeralda had the sweetest voice, especially when she was angry. His tail twitched, stopping the full wag it desired. But when she continued to hound at the fae, he could not allow the disrespect she showed. This would be the first thing the new fae would recall about her Beta. Large jaws snapped, as he walked before both faes. His muscles tightened, baring all their glory and pride he held within them. "Kennedy, what skills do you speak of? Have you ever brought down a deer by your lonesome? Or survived the winter with your lonesome self?" Snarls rippled from his mouth as he turned as snapped at Esmeralda. "Leave now! I must challenge this fae on what 'skills' she has."

Turning his body before the newcomer, he stared at Esmeralda with a deathly stare until she walked away from the border. "I shall speak with you later." Saliva dripped and sprayed towards the fae. Whipping his head around once she was gone, he stared at Kennedy. "Continue where we left off. I wish to know more, to see which you are good or terrible at. Should you prove any use to the pack, I will accept you at this time. But if you fail my questions, then you shall be chased from these lands." With Esmeralda no longer near them, he could finally focus on the other before him. But also with her disappearance, he felt longing. He hoped he would get to speak with Esmeralda, in fact he would do anything to do so.

Had the newcomer responded, the snake did not take notice. Instead she was separated from the loner and confronted by Beta Steele, oh how things turned ugly so quick. Esmeralda's lip curled back threateningly as a deep snarl and growl erupted from the volcano within. This excuse for a Beta, what did he think he was doing? She wasted no time as she pushed him away from the fae, eying him from a mere inch away, her voice a whisper but still holding the dripping venom, "How dare you?! This is not over Steele..." Granting him space again, the ashen fae began to turn around. Her eyes pierced the fae, who she only assumed enjoyed Steele's actions, and the growl continued in warning. The fae had not seen the last of the serpent's rage and if she was wise, she'd do her best to avoid the tyrant. As Esmeralda walked to the edge of the clearing, a slight mumble escaped under her breath, "You will regret this..." Esmeralda could not wait for the day her reign come into place, with her followers taking down all that opposed her ways...with Steele's pelt bloodily hanging from her den walls. For all future enemies to see. Esmeralda left with her comment, trying to pretend she cared about the orders Steele gave, and fled into the distance.

She glanced between the bickering duo as Beta Steele reprimanded the fae's rude ways. Her maw turned into a smirk at the sight of the ashen wolf turning around from his command. She could learn to like the Beta if it kept the looks of this fae away from her presence. Her gaze slowly moved from Esmeralda to his when he spoke to her. From her mind the questions he spoke almost offended her like as if he was doubting her abilities already. The drool the huge brute let drip out of his mouth was beyond gross and she was beginning to feel bored. She wasn't amused entirely but acting professional she lifted her chin and answered in a serious tone. "I was trained by various great Elite's and Betas. My abilities stretch, I can heal, fight, hunt, and yes even take down a full grown buck on my own. I have passed the winter with flying colors, traveling alone to get here."

Kennedy almost laughed at the fae leaving back to her other duties but was too sweet she kept her big mouth shut. "Back in my old pack I was announced as an Elite, I worked along side the Alpha himself and lead various hunts with the Elites, and more experienced Warriors. I don't expect to be an Elite now of course, but I am thankful you took me into consideration." Instead of the worthless litt--. "I would also like to add that I am a splendid teacher as well. Back from where I resided, I taught newcomers and the omegas how to hunt and they turned out to be fine warriors indeed." Her eyelashes blinked innocently and she smiled with little gratitude. Kennedy was underestimated several times for looking so innocent on the outside with her creamed fur but in the inside she was sneaky and could take down a brute if she wanted to. Some where afraid, and some didn't bother speaking to her. Modo had changed her and she became stronger as the scar on her hind leg healed along with her pride in her self.

When they were finally alone, he listened to her. She spoke of great training and other things he barely listened to. This was not the first wolf he accepted that said they did this and that perfectly and everything they did was amazing. When she spoke of an Elite position, he smiled. It was not a smile of joy or any sort of happy feeling. His smirk was evil coated with a dash of insanity. "Well, one you meet the Elite of this pack, you will learn that rank is useless. Kenai treats the rank as if he were an Omega. It's sickening and makes me wish I could..." before he continued to spew his plan to the stranger he had just met, he decided to shut up. "Well, at this time we are accepting Warriors. If you wish for a higher rank, you must ask Alpha Azul himself. There may be some stupid meeting where you will sit down and talk it out with the Alpha, instead of actually proving your worth to the pack. But that is neither here nor there. If you wish to join, you will be a Warrior, but if you decide you want something else, I will run you off this land so fast, or I will kill you where you stand." His silver, lifeless looking eyes stared at her, waiting for her reply. Whether she would join or not, he could care less. He had other things on the mind.

Kennedy's eyes were slowly turning glassy and she got lost in her own world again as he spoke. From her ears it sounded rather boring anyway for which he was ranting on about some Kenai being one of the Omegas or something. Her right ear throbbed where the bite mark had been scared for life by her jealous brother. Once his words were trailing, she blinked and looked up at him like as if she had been listening the whole time. Not that he noticed, being like every other brute on this dreadful planet. Such a waste... The warrior part wasn't what she was hoping for but it'll do. Maybe eventually she can speak with this Azul and prove her worthiness. "Warrior will be fine" She smiled but her thoughts didn't agree. Whatever... "I'll take the offer, might as well not keep you waiting any longer on lil' ole me. I'm sure you have duties to be getting to."

Her long legs stretched before her and she let out a careless yawn. "Thanks but If you don't mind, I'd like to fulfill some errands as well. You probably don't care, and frankly, I don't either." She flipped up her tail and straightened up before ever moving to cross over the pack's border to pass the massive black brute. Her dark blue gaze met his silver eyes that resembled a soulless creature. "May I head to the clearing so we can go our separate ways. Surely you don't care to see my face, am I not correct?"
