He wasn't sure what he was doing. Chase woke up earlier than his parents and his siblings, wandering out as the sun rose over the lands. Dawn cracked and he smiled at the orange orb in the sky, hanging low until it would climb into the higher sky. But then he trotted out into the trees, hiding back into the shade and shadows as if the sun hadn't come at all. It was interesting how light worked.

His thoughts were cut short as he realized where he was. The border. Did he dare disobey his parents and venture out of Helidos? Would he meet a bear like his mother had said? Would he die today? He decided that he would howl for help if anything happened. Surely he wouldn't be the only wolf out there who was in the Neutrals. Someone would come. He was sure of it.

Hesitantly, he placed a single paw over the border. As soon as he touched the dirt on the other side, he looked behind him to see if anyone was watching him to rat him out to his parents. Seeing no one, he jumped over the invisible line he wasn't supposed to pass and took off into the unknown.

He found himself at a waterfall. Having no idea what it was called, he jumped into the water with a yelp of glee, forgetting all about the dangers that life brings to those who don't listen.

Today, the ghost like creature had decided to take to the neutral lands. The inner workings of Erenyx were beginning to bore him to death, and he needed to get out, to do something, anything. There had been an interesting event in Erenyx lately, the pup fights. Oh there had been so much chaos that day. The tensions were growing higher and higher each day that had passed since. There would be a change in the tides for the self proclaimed greatest pack in the lands, and it would hit with a force greater than most expected. For pure entertainment purposes, he would like to stick around to witness that, yes. That would be great fun. Spring time was in full bloom now, and the vibrance with which the forest glimmered sickened him. Everything was at its most radiant. The sunshine bore down on the grass which nearly glowed a disgusting green. The flowers had all begun to blossom, their chipper shades of pinks and purples, yellows and blues nearly making him want to tear the tops off of each and every one of them. That was the problem with this world, there was too much beauty to be found in nearly every nook and cranny should one seek it. He himself preferred the allure of the shadows. Yes, now that was something he found beauty in.

His ghost like movement carried his lithe frame effortlessly over the ground with an eerie grace. He didn't have a clue just where he was planning on going, but he presumed he would know when he got there. A little song bird flew right past his head, whistling its incessant tunes and caused the ashen male to growl, snapping at it though barely missing it. He cursed to himself and watched it soar so effortlessly through the air, not a care in the world. Stupid bird. He will get what's coming to him he thought to himself and rolled his eyes when suddenly something glorious happened. A hawk came screeching from the sky and snapped its beak around the little bird, ending its life in a fraction of a second. A sickening grin oozed across Vetis' face in a near triumphant manner. But then, oh but then the day got even sweeter yet when the scent of another wafted his way. It was not Erenyx, no.. It was Helidos. He had spent some time around their borders in the days before he had chosen Erenyx. His grin only widened as he picked up a trot towards the scent. The falls came into view, as did a pup, one of this years batch no less and he stopped, watching the little gremlin leap into the water. He slipped silently up to the waters edge and leapt up onto a rock overlooking the pool, "A little dangerous for a pup your size to be out here all on your own now don't you think?" he questioned as the pup surfaced.
