~The cream hunter rested in front of the stream ahead of her. With the sun setting West, the place very peaceful and quiet. The only sounds she heard were water and insects. This shall be my new spot, she thought. Facing forward, she began to look beyond the land. Soon, her mind drifted to her past. Arrelys started from her apprentice ceremony. She recalled the look of her sister's face when she received her mentor. That moment was hilarious to her---that won't quickly be forgotten. Taffeta was used to getting her way. Every time she came back to the den from training, her sister would always torment her and tell her how terrible she looked. Unlike her sister, she was fairly optimistic unless her temper flared. Arrelys would laugh and continued her day as if her sister wasn't there. That angered her sister, but she didn't care.  However, that optimism didn't last. On that day, she got reprimanded for chasing an intruder across the border without help. Yes, it was indeed very stupid, but she didn't know better. The news of her actions spread around the camp like a forest fire. When she approached the den, her sister Taffeta made fun of her coat for the hundredth time and told her to keep her head up no matter what. The cream wolf and her sister had gotten into a serious argument to the point that exchanging teeth marks was right around the corner. Before anything escalated, her parents stepped in. Her parents took Taffeta's side as usual. She was always seen as the most beautiful and innocent to them for some reason. Arrelys hated her sister for that. Loathed her. And her parents.

The cream wolf fast forward to other events. Every time she thought of her parents and her sibling, she got furious. Her paws brushed the ground as she shifted to the side. The wolf's mind immediately went to the wolf she attacked before she left her home for good, Vytas. He irritated the fae tremendously. Every word he spoke had to include himself. He spoke like everyone was below him--especially her. The male wolf even attempted to flirt with her despite his attraction to Taffeta. During the gathering of the tribes, he called her a cur when he found out she told Taffeta of his actions. She gave him a piece of her mind plus scars he would never forget. Based on his attitude, she didn't think the scars would plummet his ego. Arrelys chuckled with a bit of satisfaction. That was the first time she stood up for herself. She hid under the shadows too much and she detested it. Refreshing her mind, she began to think of something more... pleasant. Jacob. The best friend she ever had. His sense of humor was the greatest aspect. He was able to cheer her up at the most difficult situations, well sometimes. They spent about eight months with each other before he mysteriously disappeared. His disappearance impacted her negatively. A piece of her was gone. She even wished that she had been more friendlier to him. Perhaps that may be the reason she left? If only she could read minds...

A sigh left her mouth as she rested her head on her paws. Her eyes were still glued to the distance ahead. The Agavos pack was quiet. She thought things would get a little better in the spring, but things remained the same. Maybe it was just her. Some wolves were quiet and some were not. Who was she to change them?~

Rook sighed, inhaling the air around here. It seemed to be a rather peaceful pack - a contrast to the alpha, but she didn't mind either way. The stream was peppered with reflections and she took a second to peer curiously into it, she stared at her black body and orange eyes. Shrugging her shoulders she moved on not really knowing what she had expected out of the replica of herself. An alter ego? A stranger? She smiled, she was who she was. Glancing around the female scented the air before her eyes rested on another wolf a little ways away. It was a blurry blip of her vision and she scented the air again to double check anything she had missed. The other wolf was definitely of this pack, the scent she had scented strongly on the border hanging around the offset-white wolf.

If she had not scented the air she would have never even noticed the other femme, but now that she had the female debated over her approach. She didn't honestly care whether she did or did not but she wasn't really sure about the wolves in this pack. Should this wolf prove to be of the irritating type she doubted that she would stick around - which would be a shame considering the place where she was. The wolf took a moment to enjoy the scenery, it seemed like a nice place to rest if she didn't find a pack den or didn't want to be there. She would hate to leave the spot simply because she couldn't get along with another female here. Not that she had to, but still a sour taste in one's mouth did little for relaxation. She grinned to herself, is that what I'm looking for? she mused quietly.

Sighing she considered, if the female had already detected her presence then it would appear odd if she looked to be slinking around her own territory. And sometimes sneaking around invited more curiosity than appearing in plain sight. With any luck she would pass the female with a brief pleasantry and then be on her way to find her own spot on the stream to lay down. The thought was almost foreign to her, resting without fear of attack. She wondered if her body would ever become deconditioned from it, but after considering she decided it was better if it didn't. It was better to be ready, other wolves (especially enemies), rarely had the courtesy to wait for her to finish a nap before attacking. Yeah they really should have better manners she observed with wry sarcasm.

Continuing on her path she approached the place where the other female was resting. More details settled into place as she neared but she paid them little mind. She seemed lost in thought and with any luck this would be quick and hopefully painless, well unless this female was sensitive and annoying. Stopping before she went behind the other wolf she nodded her head slightly and said evenly "Hello." Pausing she considered, before telling herself that she would have to get to know packmates at some point "I'm Rook," a question hung uncomfortably in the air but if the female was in a sharing mood she would say and if not then Rook would make a snarky comment and move on. It wasn't like she was expecting the wolf to be particularly friendly either way.

~Arrelys continued to stare beyond the other side of the stream where the sun was most visible. With the green meadow welcoming small prey here and there, there couldn't be another peaceful area. There was just the right amount of nature sounds to allow the hunter to collect her thoughts for the day. The wolf's chin remained on top of her paws as she gazed at the fish that swam around like there was no predator out. Why not? Hunting duty starts again tomorrow. No need to overkill. Right as she finished, a bird snatched a fish out of the water. Looking down at the stream again, the fish scattered over towards the other end of the stream. Well then, she thought.

A scent of a pack member immediately caught the fae's attention. The she wolf remained calm despite the unexpected occurrence. She sat up slightly with her elbows still firmly planted on the ground. Waiting for the wolf to come over felt a little like eternity. Maybe because her patience was short? Perhaps so. How often has the wolf spoken to her members? The wolf seemed new from the look of it as the hunter noted the wolf's stealth as it moving throughout its own territory. From an old members point of view the act would have been seen as peculiar, but it hasn't been long since she herself was a newbie. If the wolf was new, that is. Otherwise, that would have been straight out weird--in her eyes anyways.

The she wolf's ear twitched when she began to hear footsteps. However, the hunter began to speak when she saw the wolf's shadow from the corner of her eyes. "The view is stunning, isn't it? If there wasn't a den for me, this place would have been my sleeping spot." The cream colored fae turned her head toward the warrior to get a good look at her. The wolf had piercing dark gold eyes and dark black fur surrounding a body of scars. "Nice to meet you, Rook. I'm Arrelys," she said as she stood up and walked over to the younger fae. The hunter couldn't help but to also notice that Rook was slightly taller than she was, but was just as evenly built though Arrelys' physique was headed to a slimmer scale.

Nonetheless, Arrelys' body language was open. Her tail was hung low towards the floor as she held a thoughtful gaze. Hopefully, the wolf wasn't those annoying, arrogant wolves. Those were the wolves she despised the most. Rook didn't look like the type;however, in many cases, looks deceived others. The hunter just stood and waited for the black wolf's response deciding it was better to see before judging. For all I know, she may just be the nicest and pleasant wolf around. I would never know that if I didn't welcome her openly. Who knows? She may even be the meanest... ~

Rook noticed the female's rather relaxed and outgoing demeanor. She sighed internally so it was going to be like that; she didn't dislike friendly wolves in particular - she disliked that they expected something somewhat similar out of you as well. Or else they call you cold and closed off...or emotionally distant. Glancing back at the female named Arrelys she thought briefly No need to make an enemy just yet it held no purpose to her. She had no idea what rank or influence this wolf held over the pack, and these wolves were far easier to give a false impression over than some of the more suspicious ones. The black female gave the creamy colored one a bright and brief smile that she allowed to touch her eyes as she responded "Nice to meet you too."

Pretending to look back at the scenery, which she had to admit looked rather spectacular, she responded to the earlier statement "I would agree, I don't think I could imagine a better place." She maintained a soft barely perceptible smile. She didn't want to appear odd by smiling too largely and too often but appearing open would probaly make the other wolf more relaxed. She made herself match the she-wolf's body language; relaxed muscles, low tail, and eyes that didn't seek or avert their gaze characterized her in the moment. The female made to settle down next to the other one asking lightly, thinking she knew the answer but asking anyway to appear polite "Do you mind?" She took the time to consider. While she hadn't really been expecting to run into anyone she hadn't been surprised either - these lands belonged to a pack of wolves. They were meant to contain other wolves and she should have actually been expecting it. Still she wasn't really sure how long she really wanted this interaction to go on. If she could nap then she would do so, while she didn't trust the female she thought she had enough read on her to guess that she wasn't the type to kill her in her sleep. It would be a good exercise in 'friendship building' and would also not require a lot of effort on her part. If Arrelys seemed the conversant type she could always move on at the earliest socially acceptable time citing an excuse.

~Arrelys could detect the little change in Rook's demeanor. What was that about? Was it something the hunter did? The she wolf blinked once and contemplated on whether she should continue the friendly conversation or not. Being hospitable was something she had no problem doing, but if another wolf had a problem with it, she would just stop. She probably wouldn't even bother treating him or her like that again. A simple hello would be all they get depending on her mood. The wolf wasn't really a fond of cold others. She thought they lack liveliness in a sense, unless they only act that way upon certain wolves. Arrelys could tolerate them as long as they weren't pessimistic. Negative wolves always spoiled her mood.

Deciding not to jump into conclusions, the fae spoke again. "I'm a hunter here... What about you?" The she wolf tilted her head ever so slightly. Her whole body was alert. When Rook gave her a quick, genuine smile, the hunter loosened up again. "Me either. I'm going to visit here more often indeed. Hunting can take place here also," she said and looked over her shoulders. The sky still looked orange, but a darker shade. The wolf could also hear the sounds of crickets chirping and noticed that the bird calls were decreasing. Even the temperature felt cooler than before. Night was approaching. As Arrelys got ready to turn back to the stream, she heard the black fae politely ask a question. The wolf gave Rook a small smile. "No, not at all. Make yourself comfortable. I'd rather enjoy the dusk while it's there, you know?" She turned her back and lied down on the green grass. The canine's chin softly brushed the surface of her paw. Her intense amber eyes were gazing at the sinking sun and the evergreen horizon. There is nothing like this place.~
