A Journey's End Empty
PostSubject: A Journey's End A Journey's End Icon_minitimeApril 30th 2014, 22:49

A black fae, named Ariste, slowly walked through the trees. She observed her surroundings, memorizing the land marks. After taking her time to observe what she could, she was finally approaching the Erenyx border to ask admission to their pack. She took a deep breath, relaxing. She kept her tail low, but still carried an air of confidence by her long strides, and good posture. She approached the line, the pack scent hitting her nose as she slowly approached. She paused a moment, to readjust her position. She wanted to impress, not insult. She continued her pace, thinking about what it would be like to finally live in a real pack.

She finally stopped in front of the pack border line, and hesitantly pawed the ground. Shaking her head at her own worry, she lifted her head and took a deep breath. 'It's now or never.' She thought, gathering her courage. She emitted a low, melodic howl, that slowly became louder. It climbed higher in octaves, then slowly descended in tune, until her call ended.

She smoothed her fur, taking a small step from the invisible line. She sat down, mentally urging someone to arrive soon.

Katyusha walked the border of her beloved packland slowly, tail swishing gently behind her as she kept her nose working the scents of the forest, her chestnut fur blowing softly in the gentle breeze that swept through the trees. It had been a slow day for the fae, her training with Steele had been a rather simple and less painful lesson than most she was forced to tolerate, giving her quite a bit of free time to go about her duties as the newest Delta, which had so far been painfully uneventful.

This however would change quickly as a howl pierced the air, causing the fae's ears to perk and a rather sinister grin to come to her muzzle "This will be fun.." she said softly to herself, not bothering to return a howl as she moved towards the other wolf. Ever the huntress the fae would make her way along the border in silence with the sole intention of sneaking up on the foreigner, not making her presence known until she intended it to.

As the Delta drew closer she would catch the new wolf's scent, her movements becoming more subtle and planned, as if closing in on her prey, and soon she would close the distance between them, her tan figure emerging from the foliage a short distance from the new wolf, head and tail held high as a pose of dominance. "Who are you and why are you trespassing in our pack?" she asked rather harshly, unsure of who this wolf was or what she wanted.

Ariste tensed, her ever present fighting instincts surfacing at the sudden, and surprising arrival of this new fae. Fighting the urge to slip into a defencive stance, the black she wolf rose to her paws, keeping her ears and tail low, displaying submission of this higher ranking wolf.

"My name is Ariste, and I did not intend to trespass onto your lands. I seek to join your pack." She responded, slightly awkward as she spoke, as she had no spoken to a wolf who was not set in killing her in a long while. 'At least I hope she does not intend to attempt to kill me..' The black wolf mused to herself, still wary of the other's movements. She tilted her head, before returning her eyes to the supposedly high ranking she wolf that stood in front of her. Still, she stayed on the defence, keeping on her toes as discreetly as she could, with subtle weight shifts, using all her power in her hind legs, if the need to spring out of danger, or onto the other wolf arose. She also used the custom of keeping her head lowered, to tuck her chin slightly, in order to protect her neck from an unsuspected attack. In the two short years of her life, this fae had learned to expect the unexpected, and always be wary, until the danger has passed, or been proven otherwise.

Katyusha would watch the subtle movements of the other, amber eyes drifting over every inch of her form as the delta stood casually in front of her, showing no fear or respect for this new wolf as she had no reason to show either to this new wolf. Katyusha would also notice her submissive posture, another devious smirk coming to her maw as ears perked again to the fea's words.

"Oh? And why would I accept you to this pack? What do you have to offer that I can't get from killing you now?" she asked firmly, keeping a slight smirk on her maw as she noticed the subtle defensive movements the fae took, Katyusha honestly enjoying the fear she instilled in this new fae. "You can lower your guard bitch, if I want you dead there is nothing you could do to stop it." she said honestly, keeping her intimidating yet bored expression, acting as if killing this fae was just a minor inconvenience for her.

Ariste's anger flared, and she stiffened further, but kept her temper in check. Her tail crept out from under her legs, taking on a more relaxed position, and no longer submissive. 'She's just trying to get the best of you, don't give in. You can prove to her you're more than she'll find around these borders again, without even showing any anger.' She told herself, and calmed. She straightened, and fierceness and sass flashed in her eyes. "Well if you killed me, you'd be losing one of the best fighters you'll know." She said, allowing her fur to stand out more, making her look bigger, subtly.

She tensed once again, but this time, not out of fear, out of anger, and amusement of the mere suggestion that she would be taken down so easily. She was not one to be brushed off, or easily beaten. She would go down fighting, and would never stop fighting and struggling until her death. Her muscles rippled slightly under her thick coat. Her coat, while often a burden in the summer heat, also protected her, making it more difficult to pierce her skin. She locked the Delta's amber gaze with her gold and silver one, holding respect, but disrespect at the same time, that she dare meet the higher ranking fae's eyes straight on.

"And if you would kindly share your name...?" She inquired politely, but the same fierceness and fire sparking in her eyes again as she gazed at this other wolf.

Katyusha would smile softly as she noticed the fae stiffen as her words began to do their work, and her form lost it's submissive posture, drawing a light growl from the delta. Her light snarl was quickly replaced by a light laugh at her words "Is that so? You are nothing but a runt, a pup compared to the strength and power in this pack...but you may yet be useful, if you learn your place." she snarled "Or perhaps you'll simply be another fine pelt for my den."

Katyusha would watch the fae carefully, sizing her up since she was almost certain she would have to put this new wolf in her place. Katyusha had been training relentlessly since she arrived in the pack, first with the lead warrior and then being taken as apprentice by the alpha himself, put into a brutal training regime to craft her into the perfect killing machine for the pack to use as needed.

As the new wolf requested her name Katyusha would glare sternly "For all you need to know I am fire, and I am death. But if you must know you may call me Delta Katyusha, or Ma'am, is that clear?" she asked harshly, making it very clear where she ranked over this new fae.

Ariste took note of Katyusha's personality, knowing she woulf have to be on guard when she was around. She couldn't let the other fae anger her to the point where she dropped her guard, or be submissive to the point where she was simply a puppet of the other wolf's. She would not stand to be bossed around, and would not be lured into a vulnerable position, keeping up her guard. If this one memeber said anything of this pack, it was that it was fierce, competitive, and territorial.

And there was no way she would be left out of that.

She forced back a growl, and nodded to her, refusing to let her anger show, not wanting to give the other wolf that satisfaction and control over her. "I understand, delta Katyusha." She replied, knowing if she didn't get it over with, she would just have to repeat it again. She dug her claws into the ground, waiting for the fae's next words or commands.

Katyusha watched her closely still, tail starting to swish slightly behind her, actually rather enjoying this, although not fully satisfied with the fae's temperament, it was something she had to work on for certain, and around the wrong wolves such as Nyx or Steele it would surely be a death sentence. With the new wolves words Katyusha would nod slowly "Decent...and what rank do you desire in this pack? How shall I be using you?" she asked fiercely.

To Katyusha this new wolf was just another runt she'd have to beat some sense into soon enough, maybe today yet if Katyusha had her way. Although for now she hadn't been given any real reason, although surely that wouldn't matter to Steele as long as the fae didn't die.

Ariste met Katyusha's gaze straight on, the very tip of her tail curling as she spoke her next words, as if daring the fae to contradict them. "I am highly trained and skilled in fighting, and not easy to beat." She said boldly, watching the fae's reaction. While she knew that the delta could have her placed as an omega, she also knew that they couldn't waste good talent, for no reason, or without knowing just how talented.

Instead of raising her fur to make her appear bigger, she smoothed her fur, to show of her slim, agile body. Her sleek black fur made her hard to spot, except in the snow of course, but in other seasons, helped camouflage her in the shadows and darkness. She knew she wouldn't stay in a low rank for long, wether she earned it, or had to beat every wolf, one by one, fighting her way to the top. She would get there.

Katyusha would hear the fae's words and narrow her gaze, letting out a low growl "You'd best watch your tongue bitch, or I will rip it from your skull." she snarled, her relaxed posture shifting to a much more aggressive one, almost looking forward to beating this fae into submission. "You are of no use to this pack if you don't know your place, and that simply makes you a trespasser." she growled loudly moving to begin a slow circle around the fae "So that leaves us two option...submit to me, or I will kill you where you stand."

Katyusha watched her every move, not willing to give her the first shot, and even the slightest move of aggression or dominance would end in an attack, and Katyusha was making that very clear. The fae, while only a Delta in the pack, was as good as a god here. She not only could leave the newcomer an omega, she could exile her from the pack or kill her on the spot, knowing all too well Steele would enjoy the story of the fight.

Ariste automatically slipped into a defensive stance as the other wolf became aggravated. She curled her tail under her body, pinning her ears in submission. She mentally scoffed, this wolf could go from hot to cold in a split second, with no warning. Ariste took note of what and what not to do. It was completely unlike what she was used to. 'Looks like I'll just have to learn to adjust..'  She thought to herself, bracing for attack.

She eyed the other fae, taking into account every muscle flex, every movement, every stiffen, looking for any idea that she would attack, and how she would attack. Ariste prepared to rear, or leap out of the way, but wouldn't initiate attack unless it was sure that she would be attacked. She continued her submissive position, wishing she had run into some other wolf. Even if the alpha attacked her, she was certain he would accept her and get it over with, or attack her and get it over with, not dilly dally in the middle of the road. But she also couldn't deny she liked it, and began craving the taste of scarlet blood on her tongue. 'Not now!' She thought, mentally shaking herself from her spontaneous blood lust, returning her full attention to the delta before her.

Katyusha watched her defensive stance, actually laughing lightly at how jumpy she was around the Delta, loving the feeling of power and fear. As the fae circled slowly she would watch her submit to the fae, not quite content with this she would lunge at the other without any sign of warning, her sleek form and practiced speed almost unrivaled in the pack. In the mere blink of an eye Katyusha was on the fae, grabbing her by the scruff hard and slamming her to the ground below her. While it was clear she didn't intend any real harm to the fae, her message was clear, I can and will hurt you if I so please, just because I can.

Standing over the fae she would growl lowly "If you fight back I will kill you, now listen very carefully..." she growled as she stepped on the back of the fae's head, pushing her to the ground and keeping her there as she spoke "You will be a warrior here, and only because I am feeling generous. When I let you go you will thank me for that and for not hurting you, and then you will leave me alone. Follow the pack scent and you will find the pack clearing, that is where we den. Do not trespass in anyone else's den, they will kill you and no one will blame them." she spoke firmly, although admittedly no longer acting aggressive towards the fae "And every wolf you meet is above you, respect is earned in this pack. If you want it, keep your mouth shut and prove yourself by being useful. Any questions?" she asked as she stepped off the fae, watching her closely and giving a soft growl.

Ariste stood, pressing her lips together. She kept her ears and tail low in submission, holding back a retort. A low growl caught in her throat, and she swallowed her anger. She met the delta's gaze, fierceness and rebellion flashing briefly in her eyes, before showing respect and submission. "I understand... No, I don't have any questions." She replied, smoothing her ruffled fur.
She swiped her tongue across her fangs, drawing slight blood to pacify herself until the delta was gone. She already was planning to fight and overthrow this temperamental fae, but knew it was a long ways off, if anywhere in her future. But you could bet your kill for a year she would try. But until then, she would have to be submissive, possibly there was another way, or maybe the delta would simply warm up to her. But, she doubted that outcome very much. Ariste did her best not to fidget, and held Katyusha's gaze, awaiting her next words

Katyusha nodded firmly as she spoke, watching her submissive posture and feeling she had done her job well "Good, then head to the clearing when you are ready, if you are hungry there is plenty of prey to be had around the pack land and stay away from Helidos, those mutts will look for any excuse to attack one of ours." she said, turning to leave the fae be. She didn't tell her, but the slight physical contact Katyusha had forced on her may just save her life later in the day, leaving her with the Delta's scent in case she ran into any troubles later, knowing the majority of the pack would leave her be so long as she didn't start a problem. Of course Katyusha couldn't promise Steele or Nyx would allow her to pass unhindered, being the only two wolves Katyusha knew outranked her.

With her work done the chestnut fae would continue her border patrols, rather pleased with the excitement the broke up the otherwise monotonous task.

(Change your rank to Warrior and Steele or Azul will change your name to red, welcome to the pack)
