- This is set the day after the battle.

As hours passed, the day grew colder, as did the stone to which the wolf rested upon the cliffside. His eyes fought every thing within him to open, only to blinded by the change of light when the sunset gazed upon him, causing his normal blue hues to appear almost purple, violet-like in shade. It was one of the most beautiful views he had ever laid eyes upon, in yet, he cringed to the jolts of pain vibrating throughout his head and side. Heaving heavy breaths, he coughed up blood and hunched over on the ground as he reached slowly to his feet. In doing so, he'd tumble to catch his balance, nearly falling over in the process before at last finding the correct footing to keep him steady. He looked over the edge to see how large of a drop was left over, seeing the fallen body to whom he had taken with him on the long way down before he reached an earlier surface. To what he had to thank, he made a farewell to the ledge and maneuvered up the mountain to the flattest ground he found, which was the end of Satan's Edge. When he had climbed to the top, his eyes feasted on what looked to be a battlefield dealing with the aftermath of war. Both blood and tears pooled the frozen dirt, and knowing he could not return to such a mess as Erenyx, he shut his eyes slowly and mumbled his last goodbye before turning back and dashing as far as he could with the pain in his side that his feet could carry him. As much as he wished dearly he could stay in these lands, he'd be dead if he did once the Leader had seen he wasn't killed first. Once he had gotten to the forest floor, just short of the corpse, he marveled the life which he killed, sparing no mercy in doing so. He brought the body to a nicer shelter in the neutrals, saving it for himself for when he'd figure out what to do with Aspen's body later. Perhaps show it off to someone he knew would care. If the body were gone before then, he'd at least have it as only a positive reminder.

Overnight, he spent the nocturnal hours resting up, even though he had gained much of his energy whilst unconscious, Striker found the need he still needed more time to refuel before setting out again. As the night grew on and day soon returned, he woke to a stubborn start, having not wanted to get up in the first place, but forcing himself out of the shelter purposely so that he find a new home. There were two other packs, one which he knew Aleu favored now for, but not quite what he sought according to rules. Which reminded him of the newer addition to the lands of Age - a name to what he had never gained, but knew of through pack gossip. Using all methods to what his mentor taught him, as well as his father on how to track, the apprentice kept his snout low to the ground and body relatively on the prowl. Blood stained a good portion of his front and across his muzzle, some which still oozed from its wounds, and if he were correct, he could sense the bruising being done on his side. He had no knowledge as to what was done to his head once he had made impact with the stone side. Hopefully, time would heal his wounds, as would some of the healers. He could always heal himself, knowing some basics from his mother, but not even that would help with everything. About half way there, Striker had found himself in a ton of pain, which exhausted him a lot faster than he originally planned. Leaning against a tree trunk, he breathed in small patches of lavender he found sitting at its base, which relieved him, filling his mind with zedd to keep going. He near laid down at the border, panting to himself but keeping a leveled stance. The ashen male pushed back the agony and shook his head to clear his throat. Instincts then told him to act by howling, tilting his head back slowly so that the sound make a way to the air, as well as through the trees before him. As steadily as possible, he was careful to finally sit, wrapping his tail at his side and lowing his head down to the ground to find air to his lungs. He almost laughed to himself for his own stupidity, his own insanity for jumping over. But damn, was it worth it.

Wandering the lands of his border, Desmond held his head low. He was weary of a gang of foxes which had found their group hunting grounds close to his pack. They had been stealing rabbits and whatever else there was. He hated the tiny creatures and if he had caught them, he would surely skin them and use their hides to line his den. He had seen a couple different ones, some orange, while others were a dull grey and black color. The Alpha male was wise to their trickery and knew they hunted in groups. With a single step in the right direction, he was able to find a nesting ground. A loud snarl rippled from his maw and his ears shot up on his head. He was alert and angered by this discovery. Quickly he moved from the area, heading in the direction the little thieves had wandered to. He did not hear the call from the wolf, and he did not try to go looking for it. Surely Fel would find the wolf and greet it in the best way she possibly could. Desmond was on a mission and nothing would deter him. A blended scent of fox and wolf rested along the forest floor. He was getting closer and soon he came to find the back of a something. The fur was blended with both black and grey. He had the scents of the fox in his nostrils and his adrenaline began pumping through his blood. His heart rate jumped drastically as he smelled fresh blood. The little creature had been hunting on his lands. ”You better get….” Desmond stopped speaking as he realized that this was not a fox. It was a wolf. A one year old, could not be any older than two years at least. He was foolish to misread the scents of this young lad. Immediately, Desmond’s demeanor changed. He relaxed and his hulking form looked smaller than normal. His green eyes looked to the wolf and casually he moved to stand before him. ”You look like you’ve been through a pretty nasty thing. Is there something I can help you with? A wolf your age really shouldn’t be wandering the areas…” The Alpha took a moment to smell his scent. He knew it immediately, even before the young brute could say where he came from. ”If you are coming with a message from Teren, I would hope he would send a different messenger than you. I mean no offense, but you really are not that intimidating in your current state…. Or possibly ever.” Desmond had recalled the time he played across the borders of Erenyx. It was a fun little rush he got from it, but had the Alpha really heard about his little trip and waited this long to do something about it? The blended coat male knew very little of the Alpha from the East, but he knew that he had a horrible temper and an even worse disposition with those who disobeyed him.

The pup waited silently, leaning back and forth for a short while until he grew dizzy and nauseous of the swaying pattern he managed. He could feel the leftover rabbit pieces in his stomach churn within him, but his mouth remained closed and his eyes calmly collected as he took small breaths. Sleep seemed so wonderful at a time such as this when nature was at rest and filled of peace, he near closed his eyes, for a promised few seconds, until abruptly awaken to the sound of paw-steps nearing him. Striker's eyes fell peacefully upon an approaching figure, one of honey dusted and grey pattern mixed coat, with slight tanner pigments all blended upon the figure. He was large, much larger than him, but not quite as much as his former King, though they shared the same hues - he only hoped not the same personality. The adolescent was undisturbed by the negative response, for he was quiet and patient enough to watch as the superior's face unraveled to the discovery to the young one's presence. He probably smelt horrid to the male, but Striker would simply dismiss it, it was a lost cause after all. And then the words began to tumble off the other's tongue, causing the pup to straight reasonably until the pain in his side surfaced, contorting the expression of his face from collected to hurt. All Striker could do was muster a faint, displeased laugh, eyes closed as his snout pointed to the ground out of no disrespect, "A wolf my age shouldn't be seeing the things I've experienced so quickly, either.." His voice went quiet before he could make another snide remark about how he can handle the wandering beyond limitations, he had never let an older wolf stop his tracks before, he certainly wasn't going to let this one, either.

"A home would be pleasant.. - and no, I'm not here to carry on a message for that sick bastard." Striker didn't dare test the other with a dark glare at the lack of intimidation, in time, he'd be much stronger, only now did he look like a wreck with no thanks to Teren. As he'd grow older, the brute could only dream of being as firm and threatening as his bloodline and Erenyx neighbors. The adolescent couldn't bring himself to look back on the memory of the battlefield he saw, he had known there to be no victors of his family left other than what he thought would most likely be Renier. But just slight of his fall, he had seen Piper, a clever fae to what he'd never admit, try to corner him. Perhaps the run deserved it - perhaps not, but that no longer mattered it seemed. He could only imagine what was happening in Erenyx at this moment. "I'm no spy, nor a wolf large enough to please someone just yet, but I've received a hard training regime in my former pack and have seen great progress thus far. Just recently... I was forced out of the area.. Alpha Teren has committed a traumatizing experience for Erenyx, I'd rather not speak into detail, sir." Striker mustered, gazing to the large brute with his ears narrowed back. He knew the memory would go down in Erenyx history, along with the thoughts of those whom both perished and lived that event. He too, would remember, but learn to forget for the most part later on, or so he hoped. For now, he could only be grateful that there was a cliff to break his departure from death. "My name is Striker.. the second oldest, and now only wolf of the litter beneath the Elite and Lead Healer of Erenyx." He added.

As the young wolf spoke, he could tell he had been taught the importance of respect. This was a good thing. The Alpha looked to him, trying to see exactly how many wounds he had suffered, and though he did not wish to speak about it, Desmond grew more curious as how this even happened to him. Maybe the wolves faced a bear or a puma? Or perhaps he tried to hunt a bull moose all by himself? Whatever the story was, the reasoning behind the blood, Desmond was not going to ask. In a way, he felt sorry for the wolf. It was strange to see such a young wolf in such horrible conditions. Young pups were the future of the pack. They were to take the positions as the elder wolves died and carry on their belief systems. What crazy wolf would want to hurt such innocent young creatures? ”Well… Striker, I will tell you this… If it is really a home you are seeking, then you have found the right place. I call tell the blood on your pelt is not only your preys’ but also of yours. I will not ask you to tell me your past or the reason why you come to me like this. What I will require is that you seek the medical attention of either Orion or Sofiel. They are our healers here and they will make you well again. If you come to live here, you will be an Apprentice until you are two years of age. I don’t want you to partake in any hard labor until you check with me first. I don’t want you dying on me kid.” As twisted of a joke it was, he gave a soft chuckle. He wanted this pup to feel like this was a safe haven. His last home was hell on earth, filled with wolves just waiting to rip you apart. Striker was not the first wolf to be saved from their clutches and he would not be the last. ”I am Alpha Desmond, but when we are alone, you may call me Desmond. I don’t know what horrors you have seen, but someday you are going to need to talk about it. I’ve seen some pretty horrible stuff as well, hell, I lived as a Rogue for many years all on my own. If you ever need someone to talk to or confide in, you just come find me. I may be the Alpha here, but I will find any excuse to have a relaxing day of barely any work. Plus, Fel tends to run a tight pack here so most of the time my paws are pretty much open. Come with me, I will escort you to the healers’ den.” Desmond hoped that his words comforted the boy. He’d never really cared for a pup before, but at least this one was out of the cry-puppy stage. In a few months, he would be fully grown and hopefully a much needed asset to the pack.
