She looked somewhat like a ghost. Maybe it was they way her creamy pelt seemed to blend in with the white forest around her or the way she dragged her paws in a way that seemed almost graceful giving her a strange almost drift like walk or even the way her whole being seemed cold and emotionless. Either way, the fae continued to make a steady progression towards the borders of Erenyx- one of the two packs that ruled these lands and which she'd found out about thanks to a lone wolf who saw her heading in the direction of their hunting grounds. After gathering what information she'd needed, she had left the male without another word. His looks of unhappiness and loneliness following her as she left meaning nothing to her. Pity was an emotion that seemed to have been discarded by her body a long time ago- why pity others, what good did it do? She'd never been given any pity in her life and maybe that was a good thing. She didn't have to rely on others to feel sorry for her and she learned that their was no point in feeling sorry for herself either. You just had to pick yourself up and keep moving. A sharp breeze cut through the fae's thick, creamy pelt and a shiver made its way up her spine. If she didn't make it into this pack she would never survive the early Winter on her own. Of course, Fell would just say that it was a bad omen- the early harsh, bitter Winter. The thought of her brother caused Tundra to curl her upper lip, revealing the row of pointy white sharp canines beneath. He was dead. Thinking of him was pointless. Yet now her mind had managed to bring up an image of a pup that looked just like Fell before she could stop herself and the fae cursed audibly, her words sounding weird and muffled in the pretty much empty, snow filled forest.

Her head was shook sharply from side to side before she continued on again, intent on reaching the Erenyx border as soon as possible. Remembering the loner's words of warning about this pack, a cold and emotionless laugh escaped from Tundra's maw- making her seem slightly crazy. From what she'd heard, Erenyx seemed absolutely perfect. The gang life had thought her actions that were past cruel and just sickening- Erenyx seemed to stay at cruel. Whilst the other pack she'd been accepted into afterwards had been too soft and she'd injured an uncountable amount of wolves, finally having to abandon the pack after accidentally murdering the alpha in an argument that got quite bad. With another shake of the head, Tundra froze. Her head was held high, both of her ears perked on top of her head and her two hazel eyes alert and watchful. Her black leathery nose twitched as it was invaded by the strong tang of wolf coming from a nearby bush and then another, and another. She'd reached the Erenyx border.

She was prepared for being forced to submit and possibly having to fight to get a rank in the pack after enduring her life in the gang of killing machines which she'd once called her pack mates. Keeping all four of her white, snowy paws firmly on the opposite side of the border, Tundra let her hazel gaze drift about the land surrounding her. Between the snow laden branches, she could catch glimpses of an icy blue sky- looking cold and crisp but at least it meant a break in the snow for now until the next crowd of heavy white clouds would cover the sky and let go of the cold, icy white flakes that they held. Finally with a shake of her head, Tundra let her attention return to the pack's border. She was putting the act off, why though? Was it because of how unsuccessful her last two times being a part of a pack had been? Maybe the life of a loner suited her better-

Yet another sharp head shake interrupted her train of thoughts. She was being stupid now. Winter would obviously have claimed her life before Spring came around if she didn't find a pack and remember- this one sounded perfect. Taking a deep breath, the white pelted wolf inhaled deeply; letting the crisp air travel down towards her lungs before throwing back her head and letting a strong howl spring from her maw and drift up into the crisp air. Letting her head drop back down to its normal position, Tundra flicked a bit of snow off her ears absentmindedly. Well she'd done it, there was no turning back now and all she could do was wait for a high rank to come and assist her.

The children of winter spiralled in loose patterns from above, their numbers ever-growing, dancing as one until they hit the ground and began their brief existence. The chill didn’t surpass that of a necessary evil, various particles of delicate snowfall bombarding his bronze body, forcing upon him their endless abyss of white. If only their defenses could be more powerful, for it took nothing more than a thorough shake to rid him of winter’s spell. He was returned to his former glory in a matter of seconds, only for the snow to regroup and attack once again, left to continue this pointless and futile display until the sky could supply no more. The weight of his paws emitted a soft crunch with each passing step, even one as fluent in their momentum as he unable to remain as eerily quiet as was achieved in the summer and spring. His silence of movement, his peculiar stillness, were among some of his most unfathomable, most respected qualities. Being Erenyx’s one and only robot, a living creature that breathed efficiency in and out of its lungs when others did the same with nothing more than air, left him with a reputation to upkeep. Needless to say that doing so was of exceptional difficulty, however. It was quite easy, simple even, when it was edged into every existing fibre of what was meant to be labeled as a personality. He was uncannily lacking in said category, though it was of no bother to him to try and make any changes. Life was manageable, perhaps less stressful, when to be considered with a thoughtful, calculative, and unbiased eye. It could throw at him the hardest of punches that it could muster, and as a result of such, would be left to face the shock of realizing that he hadn’t so much as faltered. Erenyx was the home of monsters; of an outrageously wicked and corrupted King; of soulless fighters; of manipulative and sadistic minds. In the heart of it all stood a mere Delta male with eyes that portrayed not a single care. He was not a monster, nor was he outrageously wicked or corrupted, or soulless, or even particularly manipulative or sadistic in his mindset. He was nothing. He stood before the world, before his pack, as the unbreakable tower with an eternal perception unique to none other than himself. Amongst the unleashed monsters, he was the sane and partially tainted mechanism.

He stood before the world and before his pack as such, and now he stood before the lone female as such. Eyes of dark gold were unfeeling, matching her hazel stare with cold, unreadable nonchalance. She had yet to curl her body into a proper portrayal of submission, though as always, he would be the last to request that she hurry up and place the tip of her nose where it was that his sinewy paw could drive it deeper into the dirt with a forceful shove. Most were lucky, to say the least, when they were met with the face of the robot. The other members of his hierarchy were less forgiving, tending to deal with situations such as this with far less willingness to keep things neutral. Irrationality, unlike so many others, cared not whether or not lone wolves at the border of his pack submitted to him. It was but a commonality that he didn’t go out of his way to refuse, though on the other hand, didn’t grow to expect. It was one thing to attempt to dominate him via methods of violence, something of which he’d be quick to counter, mind ruthless what with his inhumane lack of remorse. But when two wolves were staring at one another, neither trying to carelessly dominate the other, he was without complaint. “You stand upon the border of Erenyx, a pack under the command of Alpha Teren.” The words slipped out of his mouth with ease, having grown accustomed to spewing the exact same speech to each wolf that found themselves within this female’s position. “Your intentions are presumable, though I must request regardless what reasoning is behind your having summoned me?”

[I apologize for the wait. Rl has currently been quite busy for me and finding time to post is not the easiest.]

Ears flicked irritably as the early Winter's gift continued to fall in a never-ending sheet of white from the now once again heavy, white sky. It seemed that she was wrong when thinking that there would be a small break in the  almost shockingly frustrating early weather. Proved one thing- clouds were fast. Her head would be shook from side to side and she wondered absentmindedly- how many times she had and would do that today? A small grunt escaped her maw in a visible icy breath and the fae's ears fell back against her head before perking right back up again. She picked up each paw in turn and gave it a sharp shake before setting it back upon the snowy earth beneath her, gritting her sharp fangs as the crunch of snow rang somewhat harshly in her cold ears each time she placed her paw back upon the ground. Moving her paws was not something she particularly liked due to the noise but standing still in the snow for a while got cold- and then freezing and then just plain sore. Plus getting frostbite or something would just plain suck. Her tail tip twitched back and forth and she could not block out the small feels of impatience that were leaking into her. Yet she pushed them away, muttering soft words under her breath and with a claw, tracing strange patterns into the snow that was slowly getting thicker and deeper as more and more fell from the sky, looking somewhat abandoned on the frozen earth. With a flick of the ears, she quickly rubbed a paw over the surface of the fresh blanket of snow, ridding it of any marks of what she'd been tracing. A small shiver worked its way up the fae's spine and she curled her claws deep into the soft snow, trying to not let the cold that was now seeping into her bones show. As she stood there, doubts began to flicker across her mind but she pushed them away, hoping someone would come soon and that the whole pack was not hiding from the weather in their dens- unable to hear her call.

She had to admit- it annoyed her greatly how the telltale noise of crunching snow did not reach her two pricked ears until the male was just a mere couple of meters away from her. Something about the way he stood there, so still and perfect, put her on edge though she shook the feeling off- determined to focus on the words he would soon speak and get herself a comfortable ranking in the pack. A set of hazel eyes that seemed gentle by colour yet holding nothing but sharp coldness, glanced fleetingly at his set of golden orbs- slightly unnerved by the complete lack of emotion within them before her gaze had moved away to rest on the snowy ground beneath the two of them, the once perfect sheet of white now a bit more scuffed after having two wolves walk on it. Her ears were slightly lowered though still they kept their alert position and she let her tail tip touch off the cool surface beneath her though she did not yet curl up her body beneath him and beg for acceptance. Did it seem cheeky? She would find out either way. If this wolf wanted her to submit to him- so be it, she would without question. But so far he had yet to show any signs that he wanted her to do so and she knew that it was something she wouldn't mind avoiding. But she did not try to show any dominance over this wolf either and she kept her ears and tail lower than his, refusing to stare him directly in the eye. She didn't want to anger him either.

Eventually, the brown pelted male would speak words that sounded rehearsed- practiced as if they had been used so many times that they had lost meaning and were just used for the audience. The female would lift one front paw and bring it over her right ear twice as a bit of snow got clogged in it before giving her head a sharp shake. She seemed to think for a few moments before opening her own maw- hitting her numbed tongue off her teeth twice before finally speaking "My request is something that you probably have heard several times at the border of this pack but I shall state it anyway as you ask." Her hazel colored gaze had risen slightly and was flicking back and fort cautiously, ears still pricked and alert though they had bent back a bit. She felt uncomfortable standing here in the snow covered forest where it felt as if all her senses were muffled yet she carried on nevertheless, refusing to let any of her doubts enter her calm, emotionless voice "I wish to join your- or Alpha Teren's pack" She gave a small curt nod after her words had been spoken. For now she would only speak to answer questions, it would be the best way to keep everything running smoothly and to stay out of trouble.

[It’s not a problem in the least! Real life comes before posting, so no need to apologize. I don’t mind waiting for responses.]

The tension on her behalf flooded the air like a constellation of unleashed butterflies, all soaring towards the sky in the hopes of being the first to escape, both out of sight and out of mind. The reaction wasn’t something that surprised him, for plentiful a wolf found his particular brand of oddity a touch harder to accept. It was unsettling to peer into his hollow eyes and return with naught; they were untouched by the pleasantries of life. Stone had long since enclosed any sentimentalities he might have once admitted to possessing, and now because of it he stood confidently in the body of a machine - a soldier. It had been a long time since someone had tried to knock down his thickened walls. Most knew that avoidance was the best option, if not the only option. It was why it was often so peculiar a sighting to see him doing border acceptances. He was isolated to the point that some almost found it saddening, as though to look to such a life and see inside made their hearts heavy. Outside of these necessary interactions with strangers, the Delta male was a wordless bystander that kept to his own tendencies. But that was perfectly fine. Others could try as they might to convince themselves that somewhere deep down his seclusion made him feel the traces of melancholy, but he liked the way that he led his life. It was a burden to have friends - he wouldn’t even call Helidos the enemy, had it not simply come with the territory.

“I’ll warn you, as I do with all females that wish to place their paws within these lands, that it’s more difficult to make something of yourself than it is for your male counterparts.” The sexist words were not conjured from his mind, for he held no such opinion upon the truth of the matter. Although, should the day ever occur that he stood in Teren’s place, he wouldn’t bestow females with a challenge in Erenyx any harder than that of males, it currently wasn’t his call to make. That was just the way it was, and until a time that it happened to alter, should it eventually do so, he held no quarrel against enforcing it. “If this knowledge doesn’t sway your decision to place your allegiance with Erenyx, however, then go so forth as to enlighten me of both your name and what skills and abilities you possess that will be of use to this pack.” He didn’t value any of the enlightenment he was requesting. It was a requirement that he ask lone wolves at the border such a question, for if not, he could unknowingly be allowing talentless Omegas into the pack around every corner - something of which he was certain Alpha Teren would not have. His blank eyes were unwavering from the she-wolf, ominous in their fixation. It was rather difficult to gather the words of oneself under such calculative scrutinization, for when he didn’t so much as blink, one was left with the helpless realization that nothing would be going unnoticed.

[Thank you! I am squeezing in this post at 4-5am before I leave in the morning so both the quality and quantity will not be the best as I must admit I typed this when I was half asleep.]

What unnerved her most was really the fact that she could not sense any emotion coming from this male standing in the cold white powder that had only moments ago- been weighing down snow heavy clouds before being let free to whirl down to the ground below and serve Winter. It was as if he was fake- nothing but a machine that did its job and that was it- not getting distracted or held up by emotions or feelings. And she quickly realized that she could not help but feel envious of what this male was. Envious of how much easier life must be if you can't feel affected by the words and doings of others. It was not something she had experienced before. Sure she had come across wolves who seemed cold and emotionless but this was just being talented at locking away any emotional thoughts -much like herself- But you could still tell when they were angry, sad or happy. Still feel any strong emotions that may buzz off them as they passed even if it was duller then the average wolf. But this male- this male was nothing. It was almost like he was dead. And still she envied this. The two eyes that held a colour that most definitely did not match their temperament would drift over to where a chilling breeze that cut right through her thick pelt, rattled the bare branches of a tree- making it creak and groan as if it were a real living creature with a mind of its own and was being awakened from a long, deep sleep and just wanted to curl up and go back to sleep for another long, long time. A spark of annoyance would then shoot through her for letting the mind wander so carelessly that it almost seemed to be daydreaming. Her gaze would return to the brown pelted male in front of her, still not letting herself meet his gaze directly and making sure that her ears and tail were still slightly lowered though her tail did twitch a bit as the tip began to feel slightly numb due to lying on the Winter's harsh covering of snow.

His words were something that allowed the female's claws to sink deeper into the white powdery snow despite the chill it caused to run up her bones like a flame running along a trail of anything flammable. However she was not surprised by these words at all. It was generally harder for female's to get a rank as good as the large, strong males in packs like this and gangs like the one she'd come from. Well she'd just have to work harder even if it was for reasons that she felt were pointless and stupid however voicing these thoughts would obviously do her no favors and for now her mouth would remain shut on that matter. She would give a nod that wasn't even that necessary as the male continued on from his words on if she still wanted to join Erenyx and she wondered if that head nod had been more directed to herself then the male who was now questioning on what she could give to the pack. A shaky breath would leave her maw which would cause her to grit her teeth angrily before answering carefully- this was where she could blow her chances of getting a rank that was anyway comfortable in this pack and she had to make sure she would not make any stupid mistakes.

"I've learnt many fighting moves in the past. Many of them lead to death but I can angle them differently if death is not the wanted result...I go by Tundra and am physically strong and healthy" She stated physically on purpose, leaving out the words mentally because really, was there anyone in this pack that was completely mentally healthy? It didn't really matter anyway. "I know how to fight and can say at the least that my skills aren't the worst I've seen" the words slipped from her maw in an icy coolness before she finished deftly "And my current ambition would to become something of a warrior in this pack." Was it in someways almost cheeky to say current the way she did? Did it show that she was hoping to be able to prove herself worthy of a higher rank after achieving a comfortable rank like Warrior? She could not seen any reason for this to be something to look down on her for. Surely it was normal for her to want to rank up during her time in the pack and she was obviously showing that at the moment all she wanted was a comfortable rank within the pack. Flicking her ears as yet more snow began to settle on them, the fae awaited the male's reply that would decide on her pack rank with an alert posture that seemed to be reluctant to shift from it's stiff position.

Was she still uncomfortable? Was there hesitation alight in her hazel eyes as she tried to make something sensible out of him? Most clung desperately to their caution because the unpredictability of his motives was often viewed as being downright cruel - for was there not fear to be taken away from what is it that is uncertain? His eyes looked glassy enough that, should one even so much as touch them, they’d shatter and fall right out of their sockets. It was disturbing, to say the least. It took the new additions to Erenyx a somewhat lengthy amount of time to get used to him. After all, it was hard to trust someone whose expression never quite matched his words. Nobody knew him to mean what he says, for his eyes often unintentionally told a different story.

“Such skills will have you fitting nicely into the rank it is that you desire,” the Delta stepped away from the border, a low sweep of his head granting the she-wolf access into his lands. “Though do not be surprised if others are unconvinced by your words alone; you may find that you need to prove yourself worthy of the rank you now hold, Warrior Tundra.” If she was as good at fighting as her claims led him to believe, then surely this would not be a problem for her. It wasn’t unusual for the combat oriented wolves of his pack to partake in spars with one another, testing their skills and sharpening their tactics. Irrationality was not known for his participation, for he knew enough of his abilities to know that simple acts of spar - absent of the intentional use of teeth - would not aid him any further.

No, he was not a violent wolf, but he wasn’t one to hesitate when a throat needed to be ripped out. A soldier performed his or her duty without remorse, sometimes, without even thinking. A robot that was, to some extent, programmed to follow the word of his Alpha was among the best at his work. Perhaps, with time, Tundra would come to understand that on her own, should her time with Erenyx prove beneficial. He had given her the rank that she so desired for herself, and now it was left in no paws other than her own to make use of it.

[You’re accepted! You can change your name to “Warrior Tundra” whenever it is convenient, and are now free to post in any of Erenyx’s territories that you’d like. You don’t have to respond to this thread again unless you want to end with her input. Sorry that it’s so short.]
